I’ve been to this bistro 5 times so far. The service is always great. The server is always polite and they have extensive knowledge on the beers offered here. (They’ll have an answer to ALL of your questions.) This last visit for me, I ordered the strip steak and potatoes. The potatoes were cold and the steak was warm, not hot. My boyfriend had the Impossible Burger, who’s name is the perfect description for what it is. It’s a plant based patty but it taste just like a real burger. His meal also came lukewarm. The appetizers here that are great are the quail knots and the pretzels. Both are to die for. (Both came piping hot, as they should) As far as desserts go, there’s nothing on the menu to brag about. I’ve tried all their desserts except the horchata panna cotta and I’ve never been able to finish a single one. They’re really not that great. I’ll continue to come to stone. It’s a wonderful place, beautiful garden, great TABLE service, and pretty good food. When you go as much as I do, you just know what to and what not to order.
Great food and amazing ambiance!
Took some friends who had never been to Stone. They absolutely love the dining experience and the food was fantastic. We tried some new items and were very pleased. Beautiful day and great service!
Great place, take our out of town company here all the time. I do miss the vanilla smoked porter though.
It was INCREDIBLE! Food was fantastic and the grounds were AWESOME!
Overall great experience, drove from Northern California and was definitely worth it.
We were visiting San Diego, CA, and went to my husband’s favorite restaurant!!! We enjoy this restaurant whoever we visit San Diego!!
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner celebrating a friend's birthday. The food was amazing with a creative, inventive menu. I had the spinach salad with toasted barley and shrimp and grits. Would definitely order both again. Service was tops. Our waiter even took time to snap the perfect group photo for us.
Impressive setting with gift shop and all. The service was very knowledgeable and polite. The kitchen was fast and the food was delicious. The selection was abundant. The outdoor dining was nicely heated for the cool night we were there. We have been there before and will look forward to our next visit.
We went on meatless Monday and it was nice having the variety of different kinds of food along with different kind of beer. Service was exceptional and the wait staff were very knowledgeable and helpful while ordering. We would gladly go back again for another special occasion, but not so much for an every day dining experience or lunch.
Saw a mouse running around in the restaurant. Steak was over cooked, and the side of broccoli was extremely salty. But the server was awesome!
Stone is always an experience. The gardens are beautiful to walk through and have a beer and a conversation in. The dining is very expensive and not always the best. My baramundi was unfortunately not cooked properly (or it was a bad cut of the fish) because it was rubber the middle 3 inches! They do always try to have fancy food dishes. The dessert was crazy (blue cheese blueberry cheesecake) and if I liked blue cheese then I think I would have loved it!
Great Spot. Lots of healthy food choices. Love the organic produce.
Great place to hang out with friends and family gatherings.
At Stone Brewing Gardens you can really enjoy a nice beer accompanied by good food. I esspecially like the feeling of being at the brewery itself. The gardens are beautiful and definitely worth the trip!
The food and service was wonderful as usual. A wonderful location for any event.
Excellent service from our waitress. The menu was a bit short, and was lacking a burger. Although they did have two meatless burger options, I was a little disappointed to not see a grass fed quality burger that would go well with a quality Stone brewski. I had the south of the border style steak, and was cooked perfectly. A little pricey, but would go again for a special occasion.
NOISY EVEN AT NOON EVEN IF NOT CROWDED THERE WERE ABOUT 10 TABLES OCCUPIED
Everything was great here. One note, if you prefer to sit inside or outside, you will need you specify even if the host does not ask you. They seat with first table available.
Too many people standing around, beersin hand, leaning onto our booth. Uncomfortable feeling. Control needed for the “high” folks. Is there a Bouncer?
My wife and I are on a weekend trip celebrating our 4 year wedding anniversary. We’ve been to stone before, but couldn’t eat at the restaurant as the wait was so long. This time we made sure to make a reservation, and it was worth it. The ambiance is amazing, the food was delicious, and of course the beer is some of the best out there. Well worth every penny.
Wonderful venue - surprisingly pretty outside patio (it's near an industrial area!). Good service, good food. We had a fabulous evening!
Wonderful lunch with friends from out of town - we truly enjoyed the tasty beer offerings, appetizers and entrees, as well as the attentive service. Highly recommend Stone for a unique, highly satisfying dining experience with friends.
Very flavor fresh food and the beer is great too.
Excellent food; wonderful atmosphere! Difficult to see which building is Stone Brewery.
John was an excellent server, and made our time at Stone a breeze. Food was delicious, and of course, the beer hit the spot. This all made for a memorable birthday with friends.
This is a great place. Highly recommend going there. The only hitch was that my table wasn't ready at the time of my reservation, but that seems to be de rigeur at many places these days. Great, great beer and very good food. A nice room too. Big, noisy, boisterous, fun. West Coast take on the traditional beer hall.
Great food, locally sourced and great tasting.
We went on a tour of the brewery and then enjoyed dinner inside because it was cold outside and we were not dressed for it. Otherwise we would have been out there. The ambiance is very beautiful outside which we could see from the windows.
Nice place to have s great meal in a great atmosphere.
The food at Stone Brewing was really good! Though not a ton of options for gluten free or vegetarian, they do have some (either or, not both). Their beer list is extensive and they have cider and Booch Craft on the menu for gluten free peeps as well. The real thing that would bring us back, though, is the service. Our server was over-the-top fantastic and everyone we encountered was friendly. We would return based solely on the customer service. It also helps that the patio area and ambiance is incredible! We really enjoyed our visit and were glad we made reservations.
We love this restaurant and the beer is our favorite.
Decent food, but sh*t service by the hostess ‘team.’ We got there early for our 4:45pm reservation (20 mins early) and noticed that there were 15-20 open, empty tables. There was no one else waiting, so we asked to be seated early if possible. I was condescendingly told ‘we’ll try.’ I provided my cell number to them and was told they’d text when our table was ready. Fast forward 1 minute before our reservation time, and voila! We are finally seated...at one of the tables that was sitting open for the past 20 minutes!
That experience certainly colored my impressions of Stone Brewery, but I tried to keep an open mind for our table service, which was nothing special but not bad either. The non-IPA beer was just not good, so if you’re going to Stone hoping to see what else they can do with beer besides their IPAs, you might be disappointed.
Overall, I would not go back largely due to the indifferent, condescending, and rather incompetent hostess staff. If there are more than a dozen empty tables and your reservation is politely asking to be seated early, either be honest that you won’t, or actually seat us. It would have been no sweat off their backs and it would have kept some customers happy.
My fiance and I had an absolute blast celebrating our Valentine's Day dinner at Stone Brewery! The entire staff was exceptional, and our waitress, Katie was absolutely fantastic. We also met Kevin, who helped us out when we wanted to move to a more private, quiet table and dining experience, and the two hostesses were very kind to us from our arrival to our departure.
The food was absolutely decadent and amazing, we 100% recommend the pretzels (beer cheese, please!) and the short ribs. I had the pancetta macaroni and cheese and my fiance enjoyed the ribs as our entrees. We are looking forward to coming back next time, and hopefully getting in a brewery tour before dinner.
This place was pretty awesome. I loved the gardens. Great seating inside too. Their beers are well worth the value.
Great food and amazing service! We were amazed at how knowledgeable our server was on the wine list and pairings! Superior service and ambiance!
Great Valentine’s Day dinner at stone. The place was full but not packed and the garden area was awesome.
We went with our 2 young boys on Valentines Day for dinner. Our server was outstanding. The food was good. The beer is great. The ambiance is amazing.
Lovely Valentine's meal! Good food, wonderful service, and dining on Stone's patio is always a treat!
The food, the views and location were great. The service by every one but our waitress was also great
