My friend was a little bummed to see they did not have a beef burger but they won her over with great beer and an impossible burger that was amazing as well!
Finished off the day at Sea World with an evening adventure at Stone. We loved the food and the beer is phenomenal as expected. It was a slightly breezy evening, however the hostess accommodated our request to sit next to a heater outside. Service was outstanding, and everything tasted better than it looked. Would have taken pictures but we dove right in! If you enjoy craft breweries and gourmet non food truck food, this place is a must.
Server wasn’t as attentive to us as she was with her other tables
Took out of area guests here. Wonderful beer garden area and perfect for a weekend afternoon. Also did the brewery tour which is highly recommended.
It was a magical night! The lighting outside is so romantic! Our server was efficient and friendly. The food was delicious. We'll definitely be back!
Stone is a must anytime I’m in San Diego. From the food to their amazing beers, everything about stone is quality. Than you guys for being my favorite place.
The menu is a tad unusual which makes the Stone Brewery unique. The ambiance is amazing and I'm not even a beer drinker. Excellent evening!
The food and drinks are great! We had a wonderful time visiting.
FYI, The men’s bathroom smelled terrible when I was there Sunday for lunch. One of the hand dryer machine didn’t work. I wish there were hand towels for drying hands. Hopefully these can be improved.
It was all bad:
1-they did not acknowledge our 46th wedding anniversary even though I put that in as a special occassion in Open Table
2-chicken was incinerated, do they use a flamethrower?
3-water not refilled
4-WAITED FOR THE FOOD 20 MINUTES+ TOO LONG
5-WE had to stand up and walk over to the bar to catch our waiter to pay for the meal, we waited and waited and waited probably not his fault he was loaded with work
I like that they take reservations; 2 days before Sunday birthday lunch I got a table for 3. Disappointed that our table was right at the door with staff running in and out and hostess said no there table was available when I saw the place half empty.
Our charming waitress was knowledgeable and helpful with the menu and drinks.
Unfortunately our BLT Bruchetta sandwiches were served on stale untoasted
Ciabatta rolls with a large amount of undressed wilted arugula, which was inedible. The Tandoori chicken caesar salad was just ho-hum.
It's a beautiful location with great beer, and we will return. Just sub par for what was to be a special occasion.
Our server, Kevin, was top-notch! We had a great meal and really enjoyed the outdoor seating.
Everything was great! I love your beer. The only thing that i will suggest is to be able to make reservations for the tables or spots in the garden. Everything else is great. Service and beer. I’m a fan
Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens is a beautiful and captivating atmosphere with friendly and courteous staff. The beer is amazing and worth the trip. It is the closest thing that I have found to a Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory for adults.
🤘🏻Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.
Disgusting food. Found a long hair in my burger!
We love Stone Brewery! We have been here about 3 times but would visit often if we lived closer. We love the beer and the food both looks and tastes amazing. We love sitting outside because the scenery is beautiful. Can't wait to visit again!
The quality of the dishes produced by the kitchen varies tremendously. I eat at Stone Bistro 6-8 times a year, so have noticed this. I had tofu added, and it was fine. But, overall, my last visit was a great disappointment. I hope that this visit was an anomaly, because the food used to better prepared.
We had a wonderful lunch experience as always. The food was amazing as well as service and ambience.
The only issue I might have had was the unusual amount of little children running around and being quite loud. It is spring break, but still odd for this type of place. Yesterday, it felt like more of a daycare, but what can you do.
Unfortunately there were several families with out of control children running around as I believe it may have been spring break at the local elementary. These parents obviously didn’t care that their children were interrupting others lunch.
Good service - great patio dining. - good food. Excellent dessert.
Like the new(er) menu
We went to Stone Brewing this year for Easter lunch. Service was great, beer was good, food was good although the menu is small and it is not possible to get a non-vegetarian option for a burger. Everything was fine, but not amazing.
This was my first time coming here and it was a very nice place. Very open inside and the outdoor area was fun and unique. We sat inside since it's still cold once the sun goes down and my only complaint about the restaurant is where our table was located, just outside of the restrooms. Since my son got to the restaurant before me, he didn't bother to ask the hostess for another table so unfortunately the whole time we were there we got to hear..."Kaaaswoosh" from the restrooms. :(
We needed a quick turnaround as we had to deliver my son to the airport. We told the waitress we needed to be out in 75 minutes and she got us out comfortably in 60 minutes, because she made the effort to insure service would happen in a timely fashion.......Well done!
One problem with Stone is trying to make a telephone booking as the phone seems to go unanswered. Yes you can use Open Table but I prefer to talk directly to the restaurant.
Stone Brewing is a must when visiting the San Diego area. It was my 2nd time back and just as great as I remembered. The brewery tour with Noah was fantastic. He was very interactive and knowledgable about all aspects of the brewing process. By far the best tour I've been on to date. The selection of beers on draft can't be beat - from Stone brews to guest appearances, there is something new for every hop-fanatic to try. The food is spectacular as well. You must try the quail wings and beer pretzels. Stone is unique with its bar open to a beautiful bamboo garden which is perfect for enjoying beers and the company of friends. Plenty of photo ops too!
The tour was no tour at all we went inside the brewery the guy talked took us around the corner talked some more and that was it major disappointment Messed up on one of orders and got a new order but by then everyone was finished except the one person. I don't think I'm coming back
Had a great time. Great staff. Great service. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone
We'd been looking forward to our dinner at Stone for some time. We had reservations around Christmas but those plans were canceled. I've never been to a restaurant/brewery that paired their beer with their food. In fact their menu is created around their beers (which are waaaaay above average). Our server, Austin, was delightful, fun and very friendly. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously.
There still seems to be a gap between their successful beer and the food they serve. I’m not sure what it is, but the food doesn’t pair well and is inconsistent versus their flagship product. This does not mean I don’t like it and that I wouldn’t recommend, but for overall dining options, there are other choices.
Our group of six had a nice birthday lunch. Our first time here. Food is excellent and obviously a great beer selection. Our server was very effficient and food arrived quickly. We ate inside but the outdoor area looks very inviting as well. Sound level was quiet to moderate but this was an early Friday lunch. Would probably be a bit noisier on a Saturday night. Overall, excellent experience, will go again.
I’ve been to this bistro 5 times so far. The service is always great. The server is always polite and they have extensive knowledge on the beers offered here. (They’ll have an answer to ALL of your questions.) This last visit for me, I ordered the strip steak and potatoes. The potatoes were cold and the steak was warm, not hot. My boyfriend had the Impossible Burger, who’s name is the perfect description for what it is. It’s a plant based patty but it taste just like a real burger. His meal also came lukewarm. The appetizers here that are great are the quail knots and the pretzels. Both are to die for. (Both came piping hot, as they should) As far as desserts go, there’s nothing on the menu to brag about. I’ve tried all their desserts except the horchata panna cotta and I’ve never been able to finish a single one. They’re really not that great. I’ll continue to come to stone. It’s a wonderful place, beautiful garden, great TABLE service, and pretty good food. When you go as much as I do, you just know what to and what not to order.
Great food and amazing ambiance!
Took some friends who had never been to Stone. They absolutely love the dining experience and the food was fantastic. We tried some new items and were very pleased. Beautiful day and great service!
Great place, take our out of town company here all the time. I do miss the vanilla smoked porter though.
It was INCREDIBLE! Food was fantastic and the grounds were AWESOME!
Overall great experience, drove from Northern California and was definitely worth it.
We were visiting San Diego, CA, and went to my husband’s favorite restaurant!!! We enjoy this restaurant whoever we visit San Diego!!
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner celebrating a friend's birthday. The food was amazing with a creative, inventive menu. I had the spinach salad with toasted barley and shrimp and grits. Would definitely order both again. Service was tops. Our waiter even took time to snap the perfect group photo for us.
Impressive setting with gift shop and all. The service was very knowledgeable and polite. The kitchen was fast and the food was delicious. The selection was abundant. The outdoor dining was nicely heated for the cool night we were there. We have been there before and will look forward to our next visit.
We went on meatless Monday and it was nice having the variety of different kinds of food along with different kind of beer. Service was exceptional and the wait staff were very knowledgeable and helpful while ordering. We would gladly go back again for another special occasion, but not so much for an every day dining experience or lunch.
