Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens Ratings and Reviews
I ordered a turkey sandwich off of the lunch special menu and it was just awful. I paid $16 for something that literally looked like grillled Wonder Bread and turkey cold cuts out of a plastic Oscar Meyers case...the beer was good obviously, but I won’t be eating here again.
From check-in to dessert, the staff were wonderful. At the garden bar, Tiffany guided us through a wonderful tasting of Stone's famous IPAs. Our waitress for dinner was exceptional in her efforts to guide us to dishes that would suite our tastes. We look forward to the next opportunity to travel to Escondido for another memorable experience.
We've been here many times over the years. It's fun, the food is always good, and I've never had bad service. This time we were meeting some friends traveling to the area from out of town. It was busy and moderately noisy but we could comfortably have a conversation. There were some rowdy folks at the bar that were making quite a lot of noise but it wasn't overly disturbing. Our server was prompt and polite and seemed a bit abashed about the folks at the bar and I believe she did ask them to quiet down. In general, this place has never disappointed us. The salad with bleu cheese was exceptional and they weren't stingy with the cheese at all.
My husband & I were in town & previously made plans to meet an old friend for dinner. She lives locally but had never been to this restaurant, although she'd heard many good things from friends & co-workers. We were all surprised about how busy the place was for a Sunday night, and it was also cool to see it so lively and inviting. Our vegetarian friend, who's a native Peruvian was excited to see a Peruvian Chicken dish on the menu, so she decided to go non-veggie this one night (for obvious reasons!). I had the Duck Tacos & my husband had the "Beer Soup" (AKA 'The Pungeont One'). Our appetizers were the Brussels Sprouts & Pretzels. For dessert we had the Blissful Brownie, which to our surprise came with complimentary taster glasses of their craft beer STONE XOCOVEZA (mocha flavor), because it paired well with our chosen dessert. All in all, the food was very good, but the star of the meal was most definitely the Brussels Sprouts & the mocha beer! I highly recommend this restaurant to locals & travelers alike; what some of their food items may lack in "greatness of flavor," is more than made up for in ambience, customer service and an overall great dining experience.
This brewery is fantastic. You can do the tour for $2, get some tastes, do some shopping in the gift shop, then have a marvelous lunch of fresh-sourced foods. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and you can't go wrong. Stroll through the gardens, see the koi pond, and appreciate how beautiful it all is. Take home a Growler of your favorite IPA!
I usually have a great dining experience at Stone-not this time. I wanted a Black Bean Burger, they didn't have any. I wanted a Duck Tacos with Tofu instead of meat - couldn't do it. I wanted a cheese plate and found that now there was meat on the cheese plate. I asked for extra cheese - couldn't do it. So I ate 3 pretzels for dinner. Then to top it all off, there was a mouse running around under our table. Our waitress told us that when they open the windows/walls all the field mice come in - no biggie!!! What???
This was our first time bringing our 6 month old Son to a brewery and why the heck not Stone! It was very easy and they are very accommodating for younger children. Stone is a very open and easy environment for children to come to. it may be a brewery but they do an outstanding job to provide an environment for any situation.
Good beer, great waiter, and a poorly defined food menu. Interestingly enough, Stone fell a bit short due to a servers lack of knowledge about the ingredients in their food. I ordered the loco moco which, in its description, isn’t supposed to have onions. It does have green onions (I had them hold these). When the server showed up with the loco moco in hand, I asked if it contained onions. I could clearly see the chunks of onion within the dish. He/She asked me if my dislike of onions was due to an allergy, I replied no. He/She then stated that he/she did not believe the loco moco had any onions in it. In his/her defense, that was a true statement based on the description of ingredients on their menu. In my case, it was not.
All in all, our waiter was great. He was outgoing, engaging, and hospitable. Would I go back? Sure, for the atmosphere and the beer only.
I easily set up a two person reservation online for a friday night dinner. They got us right in and the hostess was great, she even recommended a great two top table by the little river that was really nice. The patio is a great place to be in the evening with the sunset, the heat lamps and the fires, it’s both fun and can be romantic. My only two minor issues with stone are that while the food is great, it’s costly. you are paying for ambiance so expect that and enjoy it. the other issue i had on this outing (not their usual) was that out server wasn’t busy but didn’t really come by very often. i had to flag him down for drinks. if you haven’t been to stone, you should really give it a chance for a special occasion. the garden is amazing.
Overall, a great dining experience. The only negative was that we sat on the patio for lunch and we continually had leaves dropping onto our table. I realize Stone cannot control the leaves, but they can make better use of the umbrellas - or get an awning. I could not finish my beverage because it was filled with dead leaves.
i think this place is amazing i would give 5 stars, but 1 thing is that the sever ask if we want a complementary beer sample, i didn't know i was going to get charge for it. now i know and next time I won't get a taste just order the beer that i want.
service was amazing and the food was delicious.
The ambience is so very lovely with nothing comparable in all of North County. This was my birthday dinner with a dear friend flying out from Washington DC to celebrate with me. Our table butted up against a pillar which felt very claustrophobic and seemed worse juxtaposed against all of the splendor available for viewing EXCEPT from our table. My meal arrived (strip steak) with my mashed potatoes completely cold and a tiny portion of 'wilted' spinach leaves seemingly placed on the warm counter to be considered cooking. It took some time for our waitress to come back by the table even after asking the closest staff member to send her over. Even after asking that my potatoes to be warmed and butter added to the top, my plate was returned with cold potatoes that wouldn't even melt the butter, no vegetables that I had added from our side dishes we had ordered, which my date had now already finished--giving you an idea as to how long all this took--and a now more cooked steak beyond what was enjoyable. My date was too kind to say a word and simply paid the bill. For $125 bucks, the meal was a complete wash and what could have been a delightful and celebratory evening was truly unenjoyable save the companionship of my friend. We should have kept our first choice for reservations which was Vintana, which I will do next time.
We were here with a party of 8 and enjoyed the scenery in the garden tremendously. All of our entrees came out hot and at the same time which is quite a feat for larger groups. The food was fantastic! We were celebrating our sons birthday and would definitely come back for any and all occasions.
