Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens - Liberty Station Ratings and Reviews
We had a large party and were able to make a late reservation. The hostess greeted us and we were sat when everyone in our party arrived. Our waitress was great and was very attentive. She also gave suggestions for food and drinks. The food was really tasty and everyone enjoyed their meals. I took one star off because the food wasn’t really warm but we did have a large party. The ambiance is really something to see and you must walk around.
We had a reservation for 6 at 11:30. The restaurant had just opened. Four of us sat down and waited for the other two. 20 minutes later no server had even acknowledged us. When our waitress came she apologized, her shift had just started, so there was a mix up. The rest of the time she was a very attentive server. She was excellent actually. Manager got apologized and they gave us an appetizer and drinks were on them to apologize for the mix up. Thy went over the top to apologize which I really appreciated. The food is very good and plenty of houses for beer, ciders, wine and cocktails. We sat outside which was fabulous. Overall a great experience!!
The ambiance and service is great. Excellent beer options. The food is very good, but not life changing. However, the pricing is out of control. $17 for a veggie burger, $22 for udon noodlea... the pricing does not make sense given the food quality and complexity. Again, the food is very good, but not “$20 per lunch entree” level good. I would come here far more often if the price of every dish was reduced by 25%.
We love the building and the layout etc. Hpwever the planes every 8 - 10 minutes was not great. We were eating outside. Also while I appreciate a "gourmet" menu this is a brewery and to not have a regular burger but have 2 non meat burgers it was a little disappointing. Its a little far fetched for food when the original concept is a brewery. I mean we arent asking for peanuts at the table but we also arent asking for lamb shanks and vegan burgers either. I think the menu could be a little more in the middle somewhere. The waitress was also annoyed by something..not sure what
Love the spacing between tables. They have tons of sqft and make sure you aren’t back to back or elbow to elbow with any other party. Bocce ball court was a pleasant surprise. Beer is great! Food was so so. Quantity was less than an average nice restaurant. Quality was good but not great. Pricing was high for the quantity and quality that you get. I’d still recommend it for large gatherings. They can accommodate a lot of people and offer a wide variety menu.
As always, Stone did not disappoint! Great service and the setting is lovely. We ate outside which was great.....be warned, the restaurant is right in the airport flight path. A little noisy, but the kids loved watching the planes overhead. Menu tip....order the impossible burger (new item). It is a plant based cheeseburger...I’m not a vegetarian, but this was one of the best burgers I have ever had.
They accommodated our large party graciously and the service was attentive and unobtrusive. The environment was ideal for this occasion because there was a lot of from between tables. That, combined with the tall ceilings and roaring fireplace made for an easy, non-cramped and lovely experience for all. The pricing was was fair and upfront and the food was excellent for Brewery fare in what is now the largest restaurant in Dan Diego. Because it’s broken up into so many smaller environments it doesn’t feel as huge as it is. All in all a great place for a group and the beer garden is the most beautiful I’ve seen in San Diego. Whoever started this enterprise had real vision.
This place used to be nice for a decent meal and good beer. Our appetizers were good and the ambience nice, but the service was lacking and our entrees (6) and 2 desserts were both disappointing and overpriced. We won’t bo going back except for beer and appetizers.
Had such a wonderful experience. The menu was thoughtfully prepared and so tastey, the beer selection was great (haven’t seen Rochefort 10 since Belgium) and the atmosphere/ambiance was perfect. Our waiter was so knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. Will be back soon!!
Have been to the Escondido and this Stone now with Escondido being my favorite.
I found the food at Liberty to not be as good as Escondido. When we arrived the music volume was ok but then they raised it, maybe to overcome the noise of the jets flying overhead. The liberty station stone seems to be under the SD airport flight path.
The beer was excellent, that’s one thing locations can’t play with!
Very disappointed with the service and meal. Asked for a mild version of the Udon without onions, it arrived so spicy it was not edible, so we sent it back the next time around the spice was a bit better but it arrived full of onions. The server barely checked in on our table and never returned to ask if the second time around the meal was to our liking.
Will never visit again.
We went for a late lunch and ended up ordering starters and everything we had was delicious. I definitely recommend the Brussel sprouts. We sat outside in the courtyard and really enjoyed the atmosphere. They have an extensive list of beers that they brew. They can do flights with 4 oz pours or you can do a half pour (8oz.) so they give you a lot of flexibility if you want to try several of their beers. This was our second visit to San Diego and we have come here both times. Love it!
Had a great time here with friends! Food was spectacular--so was the service. We shared flights of beer and stories since our last get together. It was a beautiful afternoon to sit out under the umbrellas. We had a thoroughly good time! Aircraft noise from the landing pattern got a bit loud at times, but then, so did we! If we were looking for a quiet conversation, the dining inside was also available and equally cool and breezy. The tuna tartare, house-made hummus, duck tacos and salmon were all perfectly prepared, arrived promptly, and were so fresh and delicious! Thank for a great day out of the office!
Our server was fantastic. She was able to suggest beer choices for us based on other things we have had in the past we liked. The restaurant noise was low, but the occasional jet overhead was loud. It was worth the occational jet. It was great food, tasty beer, and even the restrooms were interesting.
iNDOOR SEATING IS AS LIVELY AND FUN AS OUTDOOR , IT IS EQUIPED FOR SUMMER OR WINTER.
THE INDOOR AMBIENCE IS INVITING FUN VERY TASTEFUL EVEN THE RESTROOMS ARE A CONVERSATION !VERY INTERSTING SURPRISE ....fOOD VERY GOOD ! HAD A bLAST BEER TASTING . BUT IF YOU ARE NOT A BEER LOVER YOU CAN HAVE A GLASS OF WINE EHICH IS ALWAYS A GOOD OPTION.
My success with Stone Brewery has been mixed in the past, mostly at the Escondido branch, and usually isolated to the food. Until this last time, the Liberty Station branch has been great.
On Mother's Day, we were seated in an area that was pretty much desolate of people, leaving no real mood, and the doors were propped open allowing a cold chill to waft through for the entire meal, forcing us to wear jackets -- we would have been better outside with a heat lamp.
The waitress neglected to tell us up-front what meals they were out of, the kids meals changed again without leaving a good selection (the beef brisket tasted like beef jerky), the food took forever, my bahn mi strayed too far from the formula, and no-one came to replenish the water bottle. The people were nice enough, but the experience was enough to make me question whether we go back. A shame, really.
Very disappointed in Stone Liberty Station. This was our third attempt, each time worse than the last. I will not be going back for a fourth. My sandwhich had bread that was at least a day from being fresh and came out room temperature. The rest of the food was similar. With so many other breweries and restaurants in the area, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
