Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens - Liberty Station Ratings and Reviews
Very disappointed with the service and meal. Asked for a mild version of the Udon without onions, it arrived so spicy it was not edible, so we sent it back the next time around the spice was a bit better but it arrived full of onions. The server barely checked in on our table and never returned to ask if the second time around the meal was to our liking.
Will never visit again.
We went for a late lunch and ended up ordering starters and everything we had was delicious. I definitely recommend the Brussel sprouts. We sat outside in the courtyard and really enjoyed the atmosphere. They have an extensive list of beers that they brew. They can do flights with 4 oz pours or you can do a half pour (8oz.) so they give you a lot of flexibility if you want to try several of their beers. This was our second visit to San Diego and we have come here both times. Love it!
Had a great time here with friends! Food was spectacular--so was the service. We shared flights of beer and stories since our last get together. It was a beautiful afternoon to sit out under the umbrellas. We had a thoroughly good time! Aircraft noise from the landing pattern got a bit loud at times, but then, so did we! If we were looking for a quiet conversation, the dining inside was also available and equally cool and breezy. The tuna tartare, house-made hummus, duck tacos and salmon were all perfectly prepared, arrived promptly, and were so fresh and delicious! Thank for a great day out of the office!
Our server was fantastic. She was able to suggest beer choices for us based on other things we have had in the past we liked. The restaurant noise was low, but the occasional jet overhead was loud. It was worth the occational jet. It was great food, tasty beer, and even the restrooms were interesting.
iNDOOR SEATING IS AS LIVELY AND FUN AS OUTDOOR , IT IS EQUIPED FOR SUMMER OR WINTER.
THE INDOOR AMBIENCE IS INVITING FUN VERY TASTEFUL EVEN THE RESTROOMS ARE A CONVERSATION !VERY INTERSTING SURPRISE ....fOOD VERY GOOD ! HAD A bLAST BEER TASTING . BUT IF YOU ARE NOT A BEER LOVER YOU CAN HAVE A GLASS OF WINE EHICH IS ALWAYS A GOOD OPTION.
My success with Stone Brewery has been mixed in the past, mostly at the Escondido branch, and usually isolated to the food. Until this last time, the Liberty Station branch has been great.
On Mother's Day, we were seated in an area that was pretty much desolate of people, leaving no real mood, and the doors were propped open allowing a cold chill to waft through for the entire meal, forcing us to wear jackets -- we would have been better outside with a heat lamp.
The waitress neglected to tell us up-front what meals they were out of, the kids meals changed again without leaving a good selection (the beef brisket tasted like beef jerky), the food took forever, my bahn mi strayed too far from the formula, and no-one came to replenish the water bottle. The people were nice enough, but the experience was enough to make me question whether we go back. A shame, really.
Very disappointed in Stone Liberty Station. This was our third attempt, each time worse than the last. I will not be going back for a fourth. My sandwhich had bread that was at least a day from being fresh and came out room temperature. The rest of the food was similar. With so many other breweries and restaurants in the area, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
The food was incredible- when we finally got it. There must have been a snafu in the kitchen, but our waiter was attentive and let us know he had checked back several times on our order and the delay. Our waiter, Gustavo, also went out of his way to get back to me on what fruits were in the the berlinerweiss. Overall a great lunch!
reservations WED 12:30. Place almost empty. Took over an hour to receive our food.
Our waiter was A+ wonderful, we ate outside near fountain.
sausage plate, yakisoba and soup good. My BLT with no mayonnaise, took 1/2 home and discovered much of the bacon was barely cooked. looked raw. I took photos.
Ballast Point is 100% better. We won't return to stone, planes drove us nuts too.
We were in San Diego for five days and this was by far my favorite meal. I ordered the braised short rib with polenta and it was FANTASTIC! Seriously, every bite was so good! Husband ordered the lamb sausage rigatoni and enjoyed it very much. He also enjoyed the beer selection and since I'm not a beer drinker, I enjoyed a very good glass of wine. We ate outside in the garden which is very nice. The one and only complaint I have is the airplane noise is loud and the planes do fly over head about every five minutes. I didn't deduct points because it's out of the control of the business. However, I must point this out because we had to quit our conversation and start up when the plane flew by.
Food was not tasty, only thing worse was the service.waitress made it obvious she wanted nothing to do with us.Didnt even bother to say hello when she came to take our order, we had to engage her.Wife had fly in her drink, waitress refilled in the same glass.Didnt ask us how our food was after it came, nor did she ask us for a refill on drinks..handed us our bill before we were ready to leave.Absolutely the worst place I have ever been.We thought maybe she was just shy..however saw her joking and laughing with other patrons.I hate to ever say this but we felt like we were ignored due to our race and color as all other patrons were white.Would advise people to avoid this place.
Always enjoy eating inside and out but they've recently allowed dogs on their patio - yeah! Made the experience so much more fun. Their menu seems to have "settled" down recently (have eaten their for years) so it's not so "out there" but still has some good choices. The patio was great - it's so large that it's quiet. Service is fine - frankly has never been their strong suit - good at the start but kind of disappears at the end. It was fine though and we enjoyed a lovely two hour lunch with our dog laying quietly under the table.
The beer here is great (of course), and the food is great too, but do be aware that the venue is mere miles from the airport and right under the flight path (which leads to loud flyovers, sometimes 1 every 15 minutes). Besides that, the decor is awesome, and the place is almost always empty during weekday lunch.
