Appetizer pretzels came out quickly. It took way too long to get our entrees. It did not seem that busy tonight...
Great place and would have been 5 stars across the board except they took forever on one meal which made all the other meals cold
Stone Brewing is so much more then a new pub. The setting is absolutely beautiful. The food was delicious. The wait staff was attentive and polite. My husband and I and our two teenage children throughly enjoyed the entire experience.
Overall good, service could have been a lot better
No dinner specials strictly the menu choices—
It was my dad’s birthday. The apps showed up quickly but the main meals took forever. I guess there was a backup in the kitchen — it was a busy Sat night, so the kitchen is bound to get really busy. I wasn’t angry about it but the waiter apologized and comped our desserts. Overall, it was a really nice place!
Love this place!!!!
Great food and we loved our waiter!
Great service, ambiance, delicious beers and food. Really love the gardens and spacious area for families and friends to socialize.
Amazing overall! Food and drinks and atmosphere!! Everything is always so good!!
We met friends for a casual dinner. The music was perfect for us to talk and yet enjoy the tunes. Food was excellent. Service was a little slow but since we were visiting it was fine for the situation. Only negative was that we ordered the ice cream sandwich for dessert but they were out. That was disappointing. Otherwise, the pretzels were a nice appetizer. My husband and I split a veggie burger and a side of mac and cheese. Both were delicious. Our friends had the salmon, Brussel sprouts, and sausage appetizer which they enjoyed. It was overall a lovely summer night out.
I came here with my wife and baby to celebrate our anniversary because the garden is great for letting the baby explore and not get too bored. This was our 3rd time here and we expected both great food and great atmosphere, because that's what we've gotten before. Unfortunately, the kitchen had a really off night and we honestly felt a bit cheated having to pay the bill for a meal so awful.
So to start with, we got the aji-verde tiger shrimp. It was decent, if not particularly memorable. So far, OK. Then we got to the entrees, which were a complete disaster. My wife got the Crispy Skin Salmon. The salmon itself was well-prepared, but it and the other ingredients were sitting on a sauce so salty and overpowering that we had to remove all of the food from the plate to smaller dishes just to escape the Ponzu sauce. I got the Pork Belly Adobo. I love pork belly and get it almost every chance I get if I'm not cooking it myself. This dish made me not like pork belly so much anymore because my idea of pork belly does not include meat so dried out and devoid of fat that it more closely resembled pork jerky. I don't know if somebody just scraped the leftovers from the previous day onto my plate or what, but it was truly terrible. Not only that, the glaze that was drizzled on the dish was similarly over-salted and generally unappetizing. At least it was more viscous and thus easier to avoid than the sauce in the salmon dish. We also got the blueberry blue cheese jalapeno cheesecake for dessert, which was not bad but by that point we had pretty much soured on the food. On a different night I might have enjoyed it more.
I hope that Stone's kitchen gets their act together because the awful entrees were very much unexpected given our previous experiences. For now it'll be a tough sell to come back anytime soon.
The “Enjoy By” IPA was delicious.
The inside, the patio, the garden, the cot ponds, and the picnic areas are amazing. The service was good. The menu seemed to be trying too hard and was too complex. There are two burgers on the menu, both were meatless.
The tiger shrimp had some flavor but it was overcome with the seasoning on the chips.
The impossible (veggie) burger’s hellfire cheese was a bit too hot to enjoy the rest.
The Koributa pork pasta was good. The pork was tender and flavorful, the pasta seemed a bit muted with a thin buttery sauce.
I’d come back for the beers and environment.
The beers were exceptional and the wait staff thoughtful and attentive. Ambiance was truly special! We chose to eat inside as it was a hot day but the grounds are lovely and intimate. We had 3 appetizers which were fresh and tasty. The entrees were very good but selection is a bit limited and many were spicy . Be sure to ask if you have an aversion to spice as they are happy to accommodate your needs.
Food took a very long time-it was Saturday night, so not really unexpected. We were a little disappointed w/the menu-would love to see a REAL meat hamburger and maybe a flatbread pizza or 2 for the pickier people in our group.
Went out for a birthday dinner in an attempt to escape the heat. Bad things is the air was out or something because it was very warm in the restaurant.
I ordered the robe eye steak and the steak was not of the quality I expected from SB.
Service was great as usual.
Could do with some air conditioning inside. Oh and please can we have a meat burger back pls
Love their beer. The food was just okay and some dishes were small portions for what you pay. The service was really slow. Took a while to get our food and we wanted more drinks with dinner, but the waitress never came back and we ran out of time since we had somewhere else to be.
As most people do, just go for the beer. There are tons of better restaurants with great craft beer selections and better food in San Diego.
I love visiting Stone. However the last time my husband and I were there, it was a particularly hot day when we were there, and felt like the AC wasn't on. I was sweating during my dinner.
It was very very warm inside the restaurant itself. It was during the heatwave which was why we wanted to sit inside. Waiter was great. Food was okay but overall experience was ruined by the temperature.
Slow service. Waitperson disappeared for long periods. Greeter kind of ditzy. We were concerned with the heat and almost requested indoor seating. She said it wasn’t bad out in the gardens and then proceeded to sit us in the sun by the window. We might as well have been inside. We roasted. We never got to gardens.
Food took 40 minutes and came out in spurts several minutes apart. One of our party received a side of mashed 20 minutes before entree.
Hopefully better luck next time!
We had our son and his family in town and the kids loved the grounds. The food was good. We were very glad to sit outside as the smell of brewery was very strong inside.
We decided to head there for a July 4th lunch. We really enjoyed the meal, and of course the beer was wonderful! Our server was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to take care of us!
I'm never disappointed when I eat here. The outdoor dining is so relaxing and beautiful. I took a friend there for the first time and she couldn't stop gushing. And the duck tacos are fabulous too!!
Seating is too crowded and for my birthday with all adults we were seated in the children’s area it seemed.
Stone was awesome. Obviously the beer selection was great but the food was good too especially the ribs and Mac and cheese
Awesome location and great ambiance. Wide open spaces with water features, terraces, multiple bars and great food.
Awesome and fun place to enjoy friends and the lovely outside gardens and streams while relaxing and enjoying some good beer or wine and appetizers.
Amazing food. Amazing beer. Amazing location. Always a treat to head here.
The beer was good (as expected), the food (ribeye) was excellent, and my server (Shayna) was knowledgeable about the beer as well as the menu. In spite of having several tables, she took good care of me. I will definitely come back the next time I’m in San Diego.
Three generations of adults all had a great time. The atmosphere is great, service is excellent, food is as good as you would expect for a brewery restaurant, and the beer is spectacular. If you are wondering if it is worth the drive, don't hesitate.
Food and service is great!! Can't beat the outdoor patio for ambience :)
Really good food and beer, nice table service too. Love the grounds as well.
Great brews, but Veggie burgers don’t cut it. Need to add burgers with meat if you want me to come back...
Friendly service, average food, over priced. We were disappointed in the value for money. Meal was very average.
I haven't been to Stone for many years so when a colleague of mine and I were in Carlsbad together for the first time ever I decided to take him. We sat inside but with a great view if the garden and our waiter came straight over to take drink orders. The beer is fabulous as you'd expect and we were not only brought a free taster of a new beer but my colleague was offered a selection of beers to try first before he made his decision.
We both had the pasta with pork which was fabulous as were the recommended Brussel sprouts.
A great evening with great company - highly recommended
The server did a good job, however the two-star rating for “Service” was due to waiting almost 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Seemed excessive as we were not seated until 7:30 when the restaurant was less than half full. Would I recommend to a friend was yes, but that was due mostly for the quality of the food not for the service.
Food was great as always. Waitress was incredibly overbearing. Stopped by many many times and barged into conversations. Even pulled up a chair at one point and tried to carry on a conversation with us for several minutes! Have been to Stone several times before and have never experienced anything like that. Really affected our ability to enjoy our meal
