Excellent food as always! Our waitress was a ton of fun. Enjoyable experience for all of us.
We made our reservation through Open Table for six adult familiy members but when we arrived at Stokes they didn't have our reservation. The six of us had to squeeze into a booth but would have preferred a more spacious arrangement. They seated us quickly but were not prepared for six.
Delish food, very attentive service. Hope to be back soon!
Love the Tuesday night 1/2 priced bottles of wine. The restaurant does tend to get really busy and that's understandable. This time we had the Coco's Harvest salad, the Cabo San Tacos and the queso. I'd recommend them all but the queso. The queso was kind of like canned soup.
Always warm, cozy and delicious at Stokes. Friendly, great wait staff. Heather is the best.
Love the variety of food choices and the spread of prices. Something for everyone. Kids meals are enough food at a good price. The whole family enjoyed it.
We arranged dinner with family we had not seen for quite awhile. The waitress kept trying to hurry us along, I suppose because there was a reservation that followed us. She rushed us through dinner and actually told us we were taking too long. Food was mediocre. We won’t go back.
We went to Stokes-West on Easter evening for our anniversary. The food was good, service was also good. The restaurant was not the least bit crowded. We ordered some after dinner drinks, they were not served as described on the dessert menu. That made them very “un-special” and disappointing.
Everything was great! Our server was a little slow but overall would definitely be back!!
Stokes is one of our favorite spots, especially the bar seating area. The chicken tortilla soup is my favorite, as is the koko's salad and obviously, the Sharon's enchiladas. The margaritas were a tad "off" this time -- a little too sweet for me/us, like too much mixer. Also, when I use the Open Table app to make a reservation (if we are out and about and need a certain number of seats or time) versus when we walk in to seat, it seems that the "Open Table People" are put in certain booths / tables of the restaurant -- sometimes not ideal or desirable (talking about you, small table for 2 right by the front door and up the steps to the main restaurant). If this is the case, I won't make reservations via the app and will just come in like we have in the past. I feel like one shouldn't be "punished" for using the app to make reservations, versus calling on the phone or just walking in.
Fun night good food
Excellent food, fun atmosphere.
Food was great and staff very accommodating. We upped our reservation from 6 to 7 people when we arrived a bit early. They put tables together for us and didn't hesitate to seat us immediately (they had room). Nice atmosphere although a bit noisy but it is an open room. Booths looked cozy.
The Sunday all day FAC was fabulous. The margaritas were delicious and we had Aztec nachos. Delicious but kind of spicy but great taste but hot! Salads are fabulous!
Our waiter was fantastic. It was an extremely busy night and our service made us feel like we the only ones there. I paid the highest tip I have ever paid as a percent of the bill, over 25%. It was worth every dollar. The wine advice was worth the tip!!
Nice evening out!
Their butternut squash & potato enchiladas were incredible! My husband is a burger & fries kind of guy (which he got & felt it was the best burger he had had in a really long time!) but he was sneaking bites off my plate and loved it, too! The shrimp scampi appetizer was a little overpriced. For $12, we felt there should be 4 slices of toast, not two. The service was wonderful!
Great as always!
Food was good, full flavored and spicy options available. Waitress was amazing.
I like to have a salad & bread included It is hard to beat Olive Garden for value
The food was good but the service was not. Server for got to bring water when asked. Forgot to order my second drink. Server seemed more interested in talking about his vacation to Puerto Vallarta than serving us.
Upon arrival, 20 minutes before reservation we got seated right away. 20 consistent minutes later after both my date and I used the restroom and had plenty of time to look over the menu. We asked each other if we should leave. 5 minutes later our waitress finally showed up and just asked what are ya getting to eat tonight? Our response was first off we would like water to drink. Then ordered our food. Our waitress, unsure of her name seemed to be judging us on appearance to see how big of tip we would actually leave. Well low and behold due to the lack of checking in on us, and the way she came off at the beginning she did not get a big tip. Not even 15%. Needless to say I don’t think we will be coming back here for a while. Customer service by a waitress who works for tips should be the highest priority not smoking and joking and worrying about the big table or the people who look rich!
Great service and great food! Reservations through Opentable made it easy.
The meal was ok. We had soup and split the Big John Plate. Dessert was dry, would order again.
Our server never smiled and did not check back after the food was delivered.
Hello. The appetizer we ordered was great. My pasta with the shrimp was not very delightful. My noodles were way under cooked and chewy to the point they were stuck in my teeth. I had this same meal in the Old Market about 6 months ago and it was great. My boyfriend (birthday guest) ordered fish tacos and the rice was undercooked and hard. Our visit wasn't so pleasant to say the least. Thanks!
We had a wonderful experience! Only reason it wasn’t a perfect rating is that a southwestern restaurant should offer blended margaritas - bring back the blended margaritas! Otherwise, delicious!
Food is always great. Service last couple of times was lacking. Hard to get a drink at bar. Overall Stokes is great consistent food.
Our waiter, Patrick was fantastic. He clearly loves his job and his employer.
We have always loved stokes but been way less frequent customers since having kids. We went on Saturday for my husbands birthday and the food just wasn't as good as I remembered it several years ago. It was fine. But the queso fundido used to be my favorite thing on the planet with the sausage and carmelized onions. This time it was just okay. The service was fine.
Waitress (Ashley) was awful. She never even delivered our food and it was wrong when we got it. Tried adding on chicken to get out ticket up three dollars. And then “forgot” to take it off at the end. Horrible experience. Got a water refill once in the whole hour.
Service was way too slow especially during a non-busy time.
Food and service were not great but okay, would bre willing to try again.
Food normally is very good but not so on this particular night. Sharon Enchiladas were dry. New Mexico Jumbo Shrimp was overly spicy and lost all flavor.
We just had appetizers and drinks. We always enjoy the nachos. Never a disappointment. They have changed to shredded chicken.
I haven't been here in several years because I have moved to Denver but I was back for a work trip and excited to visit an old favorite. Unfortunately, our experience was a bit lackluster. We ordered the guacamole appetizer and it arrived brown ... and worsened while we ate it. Also, my friend's favorite pasta dish (twisted pasta?) is no longer available and the pasta dish the server suggested as an alternate was undercooked (extremely al dente). On the bright side I was able to order the mushroom enchiladas I have always loved.
It was nice, our waitress was amazing!!!
Cocktails delicious food however was subpar, cold and smothered (not in a good way) with cheese and sauce. There are many more restaurants in Omaha - skip this one .
Stokes is a good West Omaha eatery, with some outstanding food. On occasion it can be very noisy, when the bar noise flows into the dining room.
Fantastic prix fixe meal for Restaurant Week!
This was our first visit to Stokes. It will not be our last. Two people in our party had the Johnny's Big Plate - Poblano chile filled with pork carnitas, a Sharon’s enchilada, a steak
and mushroom enchilada with cowboy beans and red rice. It was a lot of food and it was all delicious. A little bit of kick, but not overly spicy. One person had Sharon's Chicken Enchilada - Chicken and cheese enchiladas with white sauce, poblano sauce, beans and rice. You get 3 good sized enchiladas, beans and rice. I personally had selections from their Omaha Restaurant Week Menu: a pork tostada, chicken roulade, and a gooey butter cake. All three dishes were very good. The gooey butter cake was amazing. Our server was one of the best servers we have ever had when dining out. Friendly, not intrusive, guided us through the menu, and wine list. We didn't have wine, but they had an extensive wine list. We had a Bloody Maria and a Blackberry Poblano Margarita. We never felt rushed, we were able to visit and hear each other at a comfortable noise level.
