Stokes Grill and Bar - Old Market
Waitress kept leaving for her cigarette break. Not. Impressed.
Our server was delightful and the food was delicious. I tried the Black Bean soup, amazing!
The food and drink were excellent, but the service was outstanding. I wish I could remember our waiter's name because he had personality to spare! He elevated the experience for us.
The waiter was hitting on my girlfriend, didn’t bring us water the entire time, another waitress had to come over to get us water after at least 45 minutes. The waiter would not stop talking about how great it is to be able to drink alcohol. Very poor, immature, and slow service.
Our waiter, Charles, was awesome!
Wait staff was nice. Food was good. Happy hour was a good value. Over all experience was good. Would come again
Stokes is a great go-to place if you are looking for a good quality meal and service at a reasonably affordable price. As always, the food was excellent.
Service was great, good a bit bland, needed more seasoning, don't mean spicy.
Couldn't believe no taco salad with all Mexican food advertised
Fun restaurant. Great food and service.
Very nice place! Good food, good wines and great service!
I was expecting a nice outside dining experience. But there was a really loud table which was annoying. A server which was not ares but was very unprofessional I'm sure the loud table was her friends. We heard her call the jerks and so on. This is not what I want to witness when going out on a date. We were more focused on the loud rudeness opposed to what we actually came to do was have a nice dinner. Bloody Mary's are very sweet not a usual meaty mary I was hoping for. But have to try new things. Will not be returning to this establishment.
Sunday brunch outside. Tasty food but a bit bland, perhaps. I had the green chili chicken burrito - not enough green!
One of the worst meals and experiences in recent memory. How can you sit a table of 7 who brought 4 bottles of wine down and then tell them the kitchen is closing in 5 mins? Food was atrocious and service was worse. Not again.
The margaritas are amazing. I also love the queso!
Service was good and so were the drinks. My dinner was a wrap but they failed to put the brisket into it. It was just potato’s. I told the manager and he said he’d check into it but he disappeared. Our check came but no explanation or price adjustment. Unusual as I eat here a lot and normally have great food and service.
Food came out quickly, but that was only because everything was pre- made instead of freshly prepared. I ordered a brisket taco and instead of tender shredded beef it was lukewarm chunks of dried out meat. Our margaritas seemed to be missing tequila and the sickly sweet mix which was used tasted more like Kool-Aid than anything else.
Waitress forgot my drink even after several reminders, food cold
Business lunch. Excellent service provided to us during our meal and quick adjustment by hostess for revised table size. Not a busy day due to rain, so quick service on food.
All items were adequately prepared.
Excellent service on a very busy Father's Day/CWS day. Waiter kept us informed of expected time of our meals and made sure our glasses were full. Thank you for a good attitude on a busy day!!
Chicken was really dry, salmon over done. Veggies good. Server was very good and comped the one meal without request. Maybe an off night.
Won't be back. Server couldn't have been more inattentive. Food was not good. The one in West Omaha seems to have better service and food.
Slow service and food was overpriced.
Food wasn’t that great, pretty basic. Drinks were great and the service is wonderful.
We had a table of 8 people. Every single meal was cold when delivered and not very flavorful. I was disappointed as it was my daughter's college graduation. Very disappointing food. We DID NOT mention it that day to avoid being uncomfortable for her special occasion and will her friends.
The food was cold. The service was terrible. My pasta dish looked like recycled left overs.
I have visited this restaurant several times and could not believe how terrible our experience was on Friday night. The hostess was having a tough time greeting customers and finding seating for them. We waited in line to check-in for our reservation for almost 10 minutes. Upon sitting down, our server seemed annoyed she had to wait on us. Everyone ordered a glass of wine and an appetizer for the table. We ordered at 5:57. The drinks came out at 6:17 with no apology from the server. Our queso came out a few minutes later and was cold and served with broken chips. No one at the table would eat it. The server went missing after that. She did not check in or take the cold queso. It sat at our table the entire time we were there. We tried to order another round of drinks. She took one order and then walked away before the rest of the table could order. The food came out from another server and was pretty decent. My sister's sandwich was served with bacon and she asked for it without. I asked for my sandwich to not have lettuce and lettuce was on the sandwich. I also asked for a side of ranch for my fries and I did not receive the ranch. A friend ordered the crab salad and she was disappointed that it was imitation crab, especially since she paid $15 for it. Our other friend was super happy with the shrimp pasta dish she ordered. Our server didn't check on us for at least 10 minutes of our food coming out. When she finally did, I told her I didn't receive my ranch. She said, I will get you another. No, not another. I never received one. She disappeared and came back to slap it down on the table. I was so disappointed in how everything was going since I was the one who chose the restaurant and made the reservation that I asked the hostess to send a manager over. After waiting 20 minutes, we never saw the reservation and decided to leave and go somewhere else for a drink. There are a lot of restaurants to choose from downtown and I won't be going to Stokes for a long time
The ribeye was good as was the wedge salad...the service could use some improvement.
Great black bean soup! Also liked the crab stacked salad. Good place to eat before a show-- we went in at 6:15 and were able to get to the Holland by 7:30 easily.
The Mexican-inspired dishes are the best items on the menu. Stick with those and you will be satisfied.
We drove in for a gallery opening, and needed dinner before the event. We looked online, and did the table res online, even though we were early enough in the evening that the restaurant was not yet crowded. Got a great table, and a good server who made excellent beverage recommendations. Great menu with things for the timid at heart foodies, as well as off the charts creative dishes for adventurers. I tried the ROASTED BUTTERNUT SQUASH & POTATO ENCHILADAS. Outstanding.
Delicious food with lots of variety, attentive service, overall excellent meal and experience.
Nice restaurant. Food / drinks menu was decent. Vegan options were non existent.
Staff was polite, but service was slow.
Like almost everything in Omaha, they too close very early.
Overall a good place whether u go alone or in a group. Maybe for low-key casual date.
Nice spot to host a larger group. The server was also extremely accommodating.
Very nice southwestern menu. Appetizers were spectacular. Soups very good, steak good but not great especially for Omaha. Brought our souls with the entree! They didn't charged us for them...
Food was okay
Good experience. A little too loud.
We had an amazing experience here the sever made the experience even better, he was funny and very helpful. We were impressed how fast our food was served. Everything was delicious! The drinks were classics simple but perfect, it’s hard to find good mojitos and their mojitos taste like a mojito should taste, same with the margaritas and Moscow mules... all classic drinks that taste perfect !!
Had business reservation, in which our meetings ran later and I called and they said it was fine. However, when we arrived the table was given to someone else during a non-busy Wednesday at noon. It took them 15mins to find something else as we waited. If it is a business request, you have to know time is of the essence.
Next time text or call before giving away the table or make a plan, especially if the guest call to make you aware.
We almost always eat at Stokes every time we are visiting Old Market. We ordered the tacos carbon - awesome! and Mayan Fire Linguine which has in the past been great. The dish was not served with linguine but with a terribly undercooked penne or rigatoni pasta. The chicken on it was lukewarm - almost like it was from a bag of frozen grilled chicken. First time disappointed.
