Stock & Barrel - Dallas
The menu features seasonally inspired cuisine. Guests experience a menu with a focus on the wood-fired grill.
The menu appeals to both meat centric and vegetarian diners.
The restaurant's design is modern rustic with industrial details and decor.
We take reservations and offer our chef's counter for walk-ins.
We had a late reservation yet they were still accommodating. Service was outstanding and hospitable. They accommodated our allergy needs without a hitch, and they did not rush us to finish our meal despite how late it was. We had a great time and will come back.
Nothing we had was up to par. Chicken was dry, grits too salty, no depth, burrata tasted like it was store bought. Wedge had no blue cheese but menu advertised it.
Except dining experience!
Service was underwhelming, food was inconsistent. Salmon was amazing as were the mushrooms. Meatloaf was mostly bread and the gravy was inedible. Kale salad was the overall winner.
The shrimp meal I had was excellent! Everyone at my table really liked their meals. I will go back!
This is probably my 5-6th time to S&B and the first three times the food and service was excellent. The last couple of times the dishes were uninspiring and consistently over salted to the point of a few being inedible. Our party of six all had the same overall opinion. Management came across as entitled and dismissive when we brought to their attention. That said, our server and bartender were great. With so many great options in Bishop Arts, S&B will need to find that initial magic or will continue to lose ground in my opinion.
Incredible food! Our waiter was very accommodating towards our pescatarian diet, edited a few menu items for us to enjoy.
Stock & Barrel is my favorite restaurant to re-visit when I'm in Dallas for work. The food and presentation are high-quality, and I'm never disappointed! I've taken both colleagues and family members there, and everyone always enjoys it. The most recent trip, my friend and I split the kale salad, okra, blue cheese chips, and salmon, and all were cooked perfectly!
This place deserves the highest ratings! We are always blown away when we dine here. The service cannot be beat (Travis is the man) and the food and cocktails are always on point. We ordered several dishes to share and loved it all: red curry queso (wow!), crab fried spaghetti, Scottish salmon, range chicken, and the best meatloaf we’ve ever tasted! Already craving our next meal here!
Had my birthday dinner here. It was our first time visiting Stock & Barrel. Apps were amazing especially those truffle mushrooms! Three out of four of our entrees were awesome. The fried spaghetti was a huge hit with us all. The burger was definitely over cooked and dry.
Cool, modern restaurant with excellent food and service. Food is creative, veggies are awesome.
The girls and I made a reservation here before the Backstreet Boys concert! The waiter was amazing, the food was great and the drinks were the best! We could not have had a better experience as a start to our girls night out!
Our brunch at Stock & Barrel was incredible! Our waiter - Stephen - was great. The food was INSANELY good. We had a foodie group and we loved every. single. dish. My dad is particular about the cook of his burgers and he said they nailed it. Everyone’s eggs - whether poached or fried - were textbook. The chantilly cream on my toffee croissant french toast was heavenly. All the flavors in every dish were well balanced. HIGHLY recommend this spot for brunch.
Excellent service. Every bit of food was amazing. I’m not easily impressed. The crispy truffled mushrooms are the way to start off. Drinks are strong. This is not the most romantic decor but other than that the decor works. Look forward to going back in the fall as they have some comfort food on the menu.
Excellent food and service! We dined during DFW Restaurant Week. Also, diverse wine menu.
Quality of food has decreased since I was last there a year ago. The waiter was awful! We had to ask for ketchup twice and he would never check on us. Will not be back.
Not a large brunch menu, but great variety of options nonetheless. Great patio, open kitchen, and trendy vibes in a cute neighborhood. I didn’t catch his name, but we had a great server who explained feature menu items and provided nice recommendations.
The service was great and I loved the ambiance however the menu was limited and the food was average.
We had a delicious family dinner here and the service was great! Chef has another restaurant in the design district that we must try now!
All around phenomenal spot.
Highly recommend the shrimp and goat cheese dumplings.
We love coming to Stock & Barrel when we're in town for a show or event and it's normally excellent across the board. This past Sunday evening we ordered off the Restaurant Week menu which was a great value for a great cause. However, it seemed like the kitchen and wait staff were a little off their game. The courses came out slowly and the short rib my dining companion ordered was burnt on the exterior and fairly dry. Our server happily brought her another order and it was much better. Everything else we ordered was great as usual. We certainly plan to return - it was probably just an anomaly...
A suggestion regarding parking: for patrons who either don't live in Dallas or aren't that familiar with the Bishop Arts District, it might be helpful to post parking options on the restaurant web-site.
I had the salmon dish, which was fantastic. But I had to ask for the cheese grits on the side because I cannot do a lot of cheese. Yet, the ingredients of the grits were necessary to balance the salmon's saltiness. Wish there were a way to have the salmon without the cheese. The bread pudding was amazing.
Restaurant week menu was underwhelming in person. Lack of any basic entree options meant my son went hungry. We were charged $4 for a glass of pineapple juice for my son....he’s 5. There was no food for him. He tried to eat and try everything that we ordered....he liked the little dessert and then headed to emporium pies and ate an entire piece of pie....was it good, I liked it, but too Spicy for my taste, not family friendly.
We have loved Stock & Barrel but the new menu took away our favorite items.
Brought another couple here for dinner and we all loved it! Our waiter Travis was outstanding!!! The bread pudding continues to be our favorite part.
Wonderful brunch, great atmosphere, good attentive service, lovely vibe...I would definitely come back here again.
Sat at the bar. Great food and service! Will be back (again) :)
Excellent dinner - we will return! Service was great. Food was out of this world!
Uniquely prepared food and wonderful service. Cocktails and desserts were a nice surprise as well.
Great experience overall. Service was friendly and food was quick and hot
John, the owner is super nice. Sit at the bar if you like to talk to cool bartenders. Leon will make you the best drinks ever.
Phenomenal food and drinks. These guys do it up right. It’s a cant miss. The Hay Burner was fabulous
We went for the first week of restaurant week. It was our first visit and we really thought the food was amazing. We will definitely go back!!!
NOW THAT'S HOW YOU START RESTRAUNT WEEK! S&B has been on our "bucket list" for too long. Restaurant week gave us the motivation to "get 'er done"! #1 We love the Bishop Arts District. #2 We love trying new places. #3 We just love going out for dinner & drinks. What a perfect coming together of our favorites at S&B! We love the small intimate location and décor. Our Server, Travis (who has my father's awesome name), was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We just had fun interacting with him. The food...OMG!!! It was absolutely incredibly delicious and beautifully presented. Everything we had was amazing! S&B is exactly why we can't wait for Restaurant Week each year. The variety of places and charitable premise, gives us the opportunity and motivation to try places that we might not otherwise frequent. While we would love to, we don't always "roll that way". You can count on one thing, we will definitely roll back to S&B. We can't wait to try brunch and so many other items on the menu. Thanks S&B for joining Restaurant Week. Terry & Kim
From the moment we walked in we were treated like old friends. The guy at the door knew my name before I told him and congratulated us on our anniversary. The service and food was excellent!
Came here for brunch... first time to ever come. We live In Lakewood so rarely come to this side of town. But wow, we so glad we did. Brunch was fantastic. I especially loved their tale on chicken and waffles and my better half loved the friends toast. The brunch atmosphere was more uptown than bishop arts; but then again bishop is the new “it” area in Dallas. Would definitely come back. We are going to try dinner next time.
Food is always amazing every time I go. Fried spaghetti with shrimp is a 👍🏼.
