Steveston Seafood House Ratings and Reviews
Nice restaurant, good service, but the food was somewhat disappointing. My partner ordered the rack of lamb and said it was very good as well the portion was generous. However you could only get mint jelly although we asked for mint sauce.
The Thai Seafood hotpot was VERY disappointing. The mussels were so tough you had to struggle to get them out of the shell. The "King Crab" were little leg tips split and so overcooked and dry and tough. No meat. The broth did not have a Red Curry flavor but was dominated by a burnt tomato flavor.
In my opinion, the kitchen needs some supervision from management. Too bad that in a Seafood the best dish is meat. If you want good meat go here, if you want good seafood go elsewhere.
We love going to the Seafood House and always enjoy the warm atmosphere, the friendly and professional service and the varied menu with lots of choices.
In spite of their name they serve many delicious non-seafood dishes and a couple of vegetarian options.
Always a great choice for dinner in Steveston.
Great food great service. I ordered something that was a little to fishy for me (completley my bad for not reading it was in there) so i ordered another dish admotting it was 100% my fault. Waitress happily rushed my new order and didnt charge for the first one! Great wine to! Will be going back again and again
We dined here on Christmas Eve. The food was just average at best, definitely not worth the price. Plus we got rude/passive aggressive behavior from service staff because we decided to share a couple of dishes. We just had a late lunch and my kids and parents were not hungry. We received comments throughout the night about just ordering small salad and my son not wanting to eat. The restaurant was not busy and they should have been thankful a party of eight showed up. The 1/2 lb king crab leg add-on was cold with still frozen pieces.
I went here as it had a good star rating but was underwhelmed and will not return. The calamari was not great. The seafood pot wasn’t either, the crab in it- which is my favourite food tasted especially “seafood/fishy”. The filet was the saving grace and was delicious, juicy and tender. There was leftover bread on the table and that rarely happenes. The service was a miss, too slow, not observant and always in a rush when speaking.
As always - great food, great service, comfortable ambience. A great restaurant for enjoying a relaxing, un-rushed meal, with great food (surf and turf equally great), and an atmosphere that allows comfortable conversation with your partner(s) at the table.
Steveston Seafood House is one of those rare finds. It's a 30 minute drive from downtown Vancouver near the fishing port, but well worth the excursion. The night we dined there they were having their Oyster Festival with the incredible bargain price of 99 cents each - we had 2 dozen. The rest of our meal included mussels (wonderfully plump and fresh) and a calamari dish that is simply the best we've ever had, anywhere. Strongly recommend.
We had business visitors from California. We need a place that catered to our fabulous west coast seafood, but also offered lots of alternate choices for those that weren't seafood lovers. Steveston Seafood House fit the needs perfectly with a great menu selection, imaginative daily specials, and great service. We will definitely return for more!
Outstanding seafood restaurant, so close to home I almost completely overlooked this little gem. Service was professional, friendly and more than competent. Oysters in the half shell were on sale, so fresh served on a bed of ice, simply irresistible. Their Seafood Pasta was very good, shrimps and scallops just a tad well done. Caesar's salad was excellent. Their Richmond Schnitzel was light yet juicy inside, one of the best Schnitzels I've ever eaten, simply delicious, we will definitely be back.
The staff were well seasoned, friendly and funny and made us feel comfortable. The service was impeccable. The cocktails were quick, the food was delicious and served very timely, not too quick and not too slow....it was perfect. The server was experienced, friendly and made our night very pleasant. Would recommend this restaurant highly to friends.
I had a very enjoyable dinner here with friends last Saturday. My favourite table is table no. 1
located right in front of the fireplace. Especially nice and cozy on cold fall and winter evenings.
The food and service is consistently good. Though the restaurant was pretty full, the noise level
was pretty low.
As always, the food and service was delicious. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and our menus actually had a congratulatory note printed right on our menu. Nice touch. My husband started with delicious oysters and we moved on to calamari and caesar salad, then finished with duck and halibut. Really good food at this restaurant.
We came here with friends from out of town and had a wonderful meal. Our waiter Kent, was everything a good waiter should be; knowledgeable and engaging with his guests. We had the lamb, sable fish, bouillabaisse and oysters. All the food was delicious but the lamb was especially good. Don't forget dessert if you come. The home made ice cream and the panna cotta are a must have.
