Steveston Seafood House
"Superb seafood as fresh as any that could be caught on the docks...served up with finesse" Pacific Northwest Magazine.
Voted best seafood restaurant in Richmond 15 years in a row.
Mussels, seared scallops & prawns with arugula, white wine, olive oil & heirloom tomatoes
Homemade Seafood Chowder
Haida Gwaii Halibut*
Lemon butter caper, spaghetti squash, sautéed four bean medley
We both had fish, Sea Bass and Ling Cod which we enjoyed , but the door bar cheesecake topped that. It was delicious!
Consistently great service and food. A gem in Steveston, whether for a special occasion or weekend brunch with friends. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something other than fish n chips in Steveston.
Steveston Seafood House is one of the best higher end restaurants in Richmond. The food and the service is excellent.
Always the same exceptional food, service, etc. We love it! My family's #1 Go To when visiting the lower mainland! We live in Richmond...will be ordering take out next Friday!!!
Everything was great at the Steveston Seafood House! Will definitely be going back! Food was very yummy!! 5 star service 👏
If you are going to have an "Occasion" feature on your reservation website, you should check it when the party shows up. I checked "birthday". When our party arrived, you acknowledged our reservation but never bothered noticing. It's your business to notice. Also, if your staff would lose the "no worries" and "no problem" and switch over to "my pleasure", tips would increase. Customers are not paying for a good dinner out to hear about worries or problems.
Really great seafood in a quaint restaurant with great service. Had scallops and they were delicious. Would definitely come back. Enjoyed all of the food.
Excellent delightful delicious nutritious so grateful for this wonderful restaurant in the heart of steveston. Thank u for a beautiful evening
Food and service were pretty good, but the decor is old and tired, and the restaurant smelled like a musty old basement--not appetizing. Also, when we left a $20 tip for the $100 bill, the server wasn't very appreciative. She made me feel like that wasn't enough.
Great place for a nice dinner out. Easy to have a conversation without having to raise your voice, great food and excellent service.
Amazing service and food is amazing! It is definitely worth the price. We will be going back there again soon!
Oysters were fresh, and good sauces to compliment. Evidently the Schnitzel Richmond is their most popular entrée, and I can see why. A generous topping of fresh crab and shrimp, and fresh, tasty vegetables. The halibut special was simply to die for!!. It was a special dinner out for us, and it was perfect.
The waiter was outstanding !
The food unfortunately was not.
The special...halibut was dry and tasteless as were the scallops.
Not the usual high standard we are accustomed to at this restaurant. Felt sick all night
Waitress was very helpful and pleasant....she asked if we still wanted a birthday dessert but we were very full.
There was no indication when we booked that the regular menu would not be available. Arrived to find a set Valentines menu. Server was rude and inattentive. The food was good, except buns which were dry and tough. This used to be a "go to" place for a nice quiet dinner; not so anymore.
As long time Richmond residents, we have always considered the Steveston Seafood House as a very special place to dine. We went on Valentines Day and ordered from the Dine Out menu. We both had the Surf and Turf. Unfortunately, the filet minion for both of our orders were rather tough and chewy (required a lot of effort with our knives to cut them). My desert (some kind of fruit custard) was also too sweet. My wife's chocolate Mousse cake was very good though. Service was friendly and efficient. While we will continue to support this Richmond institution, we were a bit disappointed on this occasion.
Excellent Valentines Day experience, always great to see Tina and Stewart. And of course it was a delicious meal, beautifully prepared by the chef!
Very good food. Staff was very pleasant. This was our first time. We will definitely go again.
Great evening. Good food. Very safe. Excellent service
Ordered filet mignon and it was a little overdone and bland. I would say mediocre food and service.
Overall, the food and services are excellent, just might need some update to the Resturant itself.
Service is always very good, the carpaccio is one of the best in the lower mainland, the clam chowder is ok. Well priced and as far as atmoshere...its covid time and the restaurant does its very best to follow the rules and provide a good meal. Will go back again and again....
We loved the level and choice of the background music. And we commented on how ice the ambiance and spacing was.
Great restaurant, great meals and great staff
Always enjoy ourselves which is why we keep coming back.
It certainly was not even remotely close to what it was like the very first time I've dine there in the late 80's. The restaurant came highly recommended back then from a kitchen manager with the same company we were both working for. I have been back a few times since then but it felt like each time it was worse than the previous. This was a birthday celebration but it turned out may very well be the last time I would be going there. My friend would never and he made that very clear to me. Service was below par. Never even got any water refilled or offered. Entrees were warm not hot. There is nothing more I can say about this restaurant except the fact this experience was an absolute disappointment. It was not exactly how one would like to remember celebrating his/her birthday meal.
We enjoy visiting the Steveston Seafood House for special occasions. The meals are fresh and appetizing.
Stewart, our server, is a lovely face for the restaurant. He knew his menu and that was helpful. We'd been to this restaurant several times over the years, seeing it as a special occasion place. We felt safe, considering the times we live in. All servers were masked and the tables with diners was spaced appropriately. We look forward to returning soon.
Crab legs were grainy and salty
Waiter was good but we were underserviced because of the number of patrons he was dealing with
Chowder was did not taste like chowder?
However, will return again to order something else.
It's a nice venue for good quality seafood prepared in an unfussy, tasty way.
The wait staff comprise experienced professionals who are efficient and courteous. Overall, well deserving of it's reputation, and it's long list of faithful patrons.
Loved our dinner here - rack of lamb was delicious and schnitzel was excellent. The calamari is always truly wonderful. And given the pandemic, we felt safe in the distance from other tables. We only went out to celebrate a milestone birthday and would only do it if we felt safe. Thank you Steveston Seafood!
Delicious. Oysters were fresh. Halibut came with rice really nice.
First step into the restaurant it seemed nice and cozy. The staff was excellent and very polite. But when it got to the food... I was a little disappointed. The reviews were all good so maybe my expectations were a bit high. We ordered the daily special salmon with a dill cream as well the seafood linguine. First the salmon. The portion was big but the taste was bland ,could use a little (a lot) more flavor. Couldn't taste the dill at all. The seafood linguine was under flavored as well with a slight bitter aftertaste. The mussles, shrimp and scallops were undercooked, the onion was practically raw. Overall just not very good. But again the service was exceptionally excellent and our waiter made up for the bland tasteless food. Wouldn't go back for the food, never. But for the watiter maybe.
I have been going to this restaurant on and off for at least 20 years and I can honestly say
that they are one of the most consistent places in all of the above categories. I have always had the best ingredients prepared and presented wonderfully. Both my friend and I were greeted like old friends and treated like family.
A great place to dine.
It was fabulous as always! Thank you Shane and Tina. We will be back soon.
Christmas Day was a preset 4 course meal and was excellent. Thanks to all the staff for giving up their Christmas Day to provide such a lovely evening for us.
Very much enjoyed our 4-course Christmas dinner at the Steveston Seafood House. For the first course we enjoyed a Scampi cocktail and Devils on Horseback (Bacon wrapped scallops). For the second course we both had the beet salad. For the main dish my wife enjoyed the Traditional Turkey dinner and I had Steak Duane. We were too full to have desserts there so we took home our tiramisu and blueberry lemon parfait. All the dishes were excellent and the staff very good; pleasant, prompt, organized and efficient. A very special evening.
Our personal favorites the Alaska King Crab, Oysters and Calamari never fail to deliver great taste and freshness. We always get excellent service and attention.
Enjoyed the oysters for $1.25 (again). And then the salmon on a cedar plank with tiger prawns. Yum.
Excellent food and service. Very nice ambiance. A great place!
enjoyed immensely. Food was very good. service was good
