Steveston Seafood House
"Superb seafood as fresh as any that could be caught on the docks...served up with finesse" Pacific Northwest Magazine.
Voted best seafood restaurant in Richmond 15 years in a row.
All three of us didn't like our main meal. The fish was overdone; the Boulliabause was watered down tomatoe soup with small pieces of King Crab; and the duck had not taste. Expensive meal, especially since the quality was so poor. Will not return.
Excellent waitress beautiful long table all set up for 16 of us. The celebration Meal was delicious nutritious beatifully presented and we all received our choices together. Wonderful. It was a very special day for all of us thank you so much
Anniversary. As always great food, service & ambience. We will be back.
Food was good but not great.
Drink menu was a joke.
Room looked a little DIY.
Server was good. Very sweet.
The food was excellent. The service was very professional. The ambiance could use some work. Kinda crowded and dated atmosphere. The food quality made up for it though!
More attention on the food would bring the stars up.
Valentine's Day which may account for noise level and at-times, slow service. Steak was enjoyed. The prime rib, not so much.
Good service. Very generous Val's Day menu with great choices. Service was upbeat and professional. He mahi mahi was a slight disappointment fish was a bit dry but the steak was fantastic
Went out with a group of girlfriends on a snowy night. Food was delicious, service was friendly and unassuming. Will definitely recommend to anyone who loves their seafood fresh and yummy weather you are looking for a quiet romantic get away or a group outing.
A superb restaurant experience. The Alaskan crab legs were exceptional along with the Devils on Horseback.
Good place for a nice family dinner. We ordered a 3 course dinner and for the value the food was excellent. Will come back again!
It was an excellent experience, waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Food were amazing, great value and delicious. Highly recommend.
Great food and service location should be closer to water
One of the best meals I have had at our favourite Steveston restaurant for special occasions. The dine out menu has great choices and the portions were full size ... so much better than some places that serve smaller portions during dine out. We'll be back for sure!
We chose to return to one of our favourites. Despite the dine out menu we chose from the regular menu. We needed a night out and we know the food and wine menu are great. I had the halibut - served on spaghetti squash with a four bean medley. This was perfect, light no heavy sauce on the fish. The fish was moist and full of flavour. My partner had the schnitzel- this particular dish has been on the menu for years and never fails to please. The addition of crab & shrimp made the meal even better. Roasted potatoes in their skin with red peppers accompanied the dish. We finished with panna cotta with blackberry purée.
The service was great and the place was busy.
We’ve been here twice and never disappointed. Great service and delicious meals made to perfection. You won’t be disappointed.
This was our second time, in six months, and we took advantage of the dine-out menu, which was very good value. The goat cheese salad was tasty, the steak and prawns nicely done, and the dessert, pane cotta was a hit with my wife. Service was attentive as the restaurant was full, and the owner took the time to come and say hello to us. It was a great Saturday evening.
Very disappointed for a first visit. Spent $110.00 and went out to eat afterwards.
Our sablefish and salmon were both overdone, taste was bland, plating was not appealing at all. Portion sizes were way too big for the presentation to be pleasing to the eye. The rest of the food was just alright to warrant the prices.
Service was good though.
Food and service were very good. I would return.
Good selection of choices & reasonable prices
We always enjoy coming. We know the service and food will always be as expected.
This is a very traditional seafood restaurant with a limited menu. Food was good if you like this type of restaurant. It kinda reminds me of restaurants from 30 years ago but not in a bad way. Will I go back? ...probably not but if someone suggest a group outing to this place....I would be ok with it. Service was very good...our server was friendly and attentive.
We have been coming to this restaurant for years to celebrate special occasions. The staff are always very friendly and food is wonderful.
Consistently great food and service in beautiful Steveston.
I would highly recommend checking this restaurant out for great local seafood.
Nice spot on Moncton Street in Steveston. Great buck a shuck oysters...
Wine options were great service was excellent and food was pretty amazing too! Had friends in from out of town and they loved the restaurant and the whole area around it!
Excellent customer service and food was really good!
Quality of seafood was good but we were thrown off by the service a little. Server didn’t know much about the oysters when asked (which you would expect from a Seafood House) and when he dropped a piece of food from our dish, did not offer to replenish.
The chickpea salsa was a bit tasteless but overall, I would return as the food quality was pretty good.
We went there for brunch. The brunch was great, as it has a bit of everything to satisfy everyone's taste bud. Food taste great, and the service was amazing. The waitress we had are quite attentive and ensure that our needs are met. The only thing I didn't quite like was the Oyster Rockefeller, I had small bit of oyster shell in the food where it almost chip my teeth when I was trying to chow down the food. But the taste was good (just minus the oyster shell).
Friendly, excellent food, service, wines. Good background music - NO loud rock nor hip hop. Consistently very good! They have an excellent brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays -- I believe 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. They are open for dinner 7 nights per week.
Interior ambience does not reflect the quality of the food and service. On the evening of our meal it was noisy, no doubt because it was a full house, but it made conversation difficult at our table for six.
The entrance is somewhat cramped with little seating for waiting patrons.
However we had a nice evening and the food was first class as was the service.
It was nice to get back to the SSH - I had not been since 2013... the star of the experience was the seafood appetizer platter... and the good server service! And thanks to Shane and the rest of the crew for creating a full experience.
I ordered the special which was prime rib. Since it was a special you’d think everything would be fresh and hot. When my food came, the mashed potatoes were cold, the vegetables were over cooked and dried out. The prime rib had a sauce that didn’t taste right. It was hard to cut the meat as they gave a very dull knife. My husband ordered the Alaskan king crab. He had dried out rice, and over cooked vegetables. The crab didn’t have much flavour so they give melted butter to drowned it in. My husband said it didn’t help. I was very disappointed in this restaurant especially since it’s very pricy. So not worth it !!!
It was my first time trying oysters (delicious-yum) and the experience and quality of the food was excellent. Our server, Kent, was very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and humorous. He really added to the experience. Would definitely go back and also recommend to friends.
Great experience at this quaint seafood restaurant. Our party of 10 thoroughly enjoyed the appetizers, wine and delicious seafood dinners. Server (Kent) was very attentive and everything was perfect!
Incredible seafood but not the beef........ Oysters were superb....
Table service was outstanding.........
We are always treated very well by the staff. Our server, Stewart, had excellent recommendations for food and wine.
Good atmosphere, delicious food. Waiter was friendly with a good sense of humour. Recommend it
