Stevenson's Sushi & Spirits
Chef Jay and his team create delectable sushi creations nightly. Relax, enjoy the views and sip on a tropical, martini, beer or sake. Stevenson's also boasts an extensive selection of Whiskeys, Cognac, Port and Wine.
Stevenson's is the place for sushi & spirits.
Shrimp tempura, maki, salmon, and garden salad ALL delicious! First night at the Grand Hyatt and it was lovely. Be sure to make a reservation.
Ok Sushi, nothing special. We expected a lot more, considering the location and positioning.
Fantastic sushi!!! Great service!! Lots of selection. Everything was above average.
Chef David Le Dee is extraordinary! A very talented chef with a great joie de vivre. We’re such admirers!
Our visit was amazing as always 👍🏽
As always Chef Jay and his team were outstanding with the sushi. Absolutely amazing. The service was exemplary.
Sushi was not the quality expected for the price. Service was ok but did not get 1 of the entrees ordered.
Every time we go come to Kauai, we make it a point to come here. Awesome place.
Very relaxing atmosphere. Food was delicious and reasonably priced, service was excellent. Very friendly staff.
Food was outstanding. Some of the best sushi in Hawaii.
Great food and service.
We experienced terrible service. We specifically noted on our reservation that we were celebrating a 50th birthday - first of all, there was no recognition of this. Second, after ordering over $200 worth of food, our server FORGOT to enter in our entree orders. We were waiting for OVER 45 minutes, until our server came around and asked if we wanted the check - we had not received the food, and she was surprised and went to the sushi station and PLACED the order right then. Seriously? Other tables, while we were waiting for our main course, had arrived, eaten, and had dessert by the time we got our 4 sushi rolls. This was incredibly disappointing and there was no apology from our server. Highly dissatisfied with our experience and the restaurant made no effort to account for this. I can deal with waiting 20-30 minutes for food, but 45 minutes for sushi? And the sushi itself was prepared hurriedly and messily, obviously.
Good food, disorganized, inattentive service, wonderful view from the patio. Not worth the price.
We liked this restaurant so much we ate there the first and last day of our vacation. Cozy atmosphere and great food and drinks.
Chef Jay makes the best Sushi in Hawaii. Atmosphere is impecable. A must while on Kauai.
We were expecting MUCH MORE!
We were here twice and both times the service was lacking. The waitress didn’t give us utensils or chopsticks. We had to ask for bowls for our soy sauce. We had reservations for 730 and got our 2 rolls at 9pm. We had to ask for our table to be cleaned off.
Be careful ordering the unagO vs the normal unagI. The norm is fresh water eel but the waitress and the menu forgot to explain that the seawater eel tastes horrible and was prepared in a very unflattering way.
I asked for no mayo and still got it after the 90 minute wait. Management was good about taking things back that were errors.
The place isn’t that large but the waitresses basically hang out chatting with each other rather than actually serving.
We actually received way better service from the busboy and manager than the wait staff. I wish 100% of the tip could have gone to him.
Fish is fresh but I was also missing some of the main classics for a sushi restaurant. So not sure if this place is rated so high because it is the best sushi restaurant on the island??? But it certainly does NOT compete with an average sushi house anywhere else.
The prices are extremely high too. Which would have been acceptable if some of the other basics were in order.
Excellent food and service. Beautiful view on terrace to ocean.
our server was knowledgeable on menu items the cooked sushi we ordered was delicious as was the special chocolate dessert our table was overlooking the ocean and away from the bar and televisions which was perfect
Great food. Excellent staff!
Only negative was that the valet was very rude.
Excellent food and service. Highest quality toro and big eye tune.
Well the sushi was tasty but nothing to write home about. It was a bit pricey but it is located in a resort so what do you expect. The seating if your not at the bar is pretty uncomfortable. Was expecting more and got less. We were pretty disappointed and cancelled our other reservation we had for later in the week.
Outstanding sushi in generous portions (8 pieces per maki roll). Lobster dynamite appetizer lived up to its name. Drinks were also excellent - a great meal. If the price seems high, it’s only because you are not used to five star resort prices.
Great sushi & good service too!!
Our waitress, Pukaua, was great. She was welcoming, friendly, and made great suggestions. We enjoyed our drinks and everything we ate.
By far Stevenson creates the best Sushi. We ate there 2 nights in a row and will be going back again.
Dinner with our daughter. The entire experience was excellent. The food came out fairly quickly. Food presentation was beautiful.
Everything was delicious! We got the lobster dynamite, sushi pizza, and a Stevenson roll. I remember the pizza being a little bigger, but it was still delicious! We stayed at the Grand Hyatt last time we were in Kauai, and we couldn’t resist going back for the restaurants!
Food was great. Very busy when there so took awhile to get the food.
The worst Resturant on the island. 4 adults,3 kids. It took 10 min for hi-chair,we asked to get the kids started with the miso soup, 15 min later waiter came back to take our order and said”oops I forgot the soup, disappeared for 10 min, showed up with soup, then took complete order. It was 50 min from time we sat down before we got food. They charged 18% for tip($60),which was 55 more than the waiter was worth. Beach House resturant( which is where we eat following day) was 1000% better.
Best sushi in Poipu. Prices are up there but size of the rolls makes it worth it. Black Rock roll, bomb.
Amazing experience! Our waitress was wonderful - thank you :)
Food was very
Good sushi and cocktails. Great, fast service. A beautiful setting. Highly recommend!
My wife's birthday dinner was extra special thanks to this beautiful and tasty restaurant. Our server even sang to her while delivering a candle lit dessert. Many Mahalos Stevenson's Library and see you again!
Everything we had at Stevenson's was great. We had 3 different Maki and they were all delicious. The icing on the cake was the tiramisushi dessert. It was fantastic. I would highly recommend Stevenson's for a more upscale dinner.
Excellent!!!!! A must stop sushi spot!!! Delicious and great atmosphere!!
It was our anniversary and they made it great and even provided a special dessert for us!
The sushi here is some of the best and most fresh I have had. Ask for what is fresh that day! The rolls are very large so keep in mind when ordering. The ocean views add a great atmosphere to this already delicious meal.
Bartender was heavy handed with the bitters, so did not order a second round. Miso soup disappointing. Spinach gomae was bland blanched spinach with sesame sprinkled on top, no sugar, salt or ground sesame. Highlights were toro and hamachi sashimi, lobster dynamite, crunchy roll, hamachi kama. Spice on seared ahi was overwhelming on the black rock roll - so did not enjoy that selection. Tiramisu shaped like sushi was just right. High marks for attentive service.
Food was great! Lobster dynamite was good, but we ate everything we ordered before we got it, even if it was listed as an appetizer. All the sushi we received was good. Our busser/food runner took care of us more than our waiter. If you take care of the locals, the locals will take care of you. Tip for waiter: treat the locals as you would tourist.
