Steven Lelli's on the Green

Lelli's description via the Open Table link says: "There is a standard dining room as well as an enclosed terrace where you can enjoy the fresh air while dining." With new Michigan COVID regulations forbidding indoor dining, but allowing outdoor patio dining (and we have enjoyed great meals in several Detroit-area terrace dining spots since the new rules), on 11/22 we booked a reservation for 2 on Thanksgiving (11/26) at 6 p.m. On 11/25 we received a "Let Steven Lelli's Know You are coming" e-mail to which we responded "we'll be there". This was acknowledged and our reservation confirmed for a second time.
When we arrived on Thanksgiving, we were told they, in fact, were not open for dinner. Why they confirmed our reservation twice and never sent an e-mail saying they could not accommodate us is a mystery. They had several days to perform such a simple task. Such horrible treatment of customers trying to support establishments like Lelli's during these trying times is inexcusable.
So, for the two of us who are in our 70's, we can honestly say this was the very worst Thanksgiving in our life thanks to Lelli's. Shame on you Steven Lelli's for ruining our holiday by your complete lack of concern for your clientele. (Carol & Tom)

Always a good time at Lelli’s!

Amazing filet and service by Sandy our waiter! Always a great experience and the restaurant did a great job social distancing the tables so everyone felt comfortable. Thefood was hot and awesome. My fav go to restaurant.

Excellent food. Service was great. It was my first time but definitely won’t be my last

Our server was excellent, and we enjoyed the ambiance. We went early to avoid the crowds. The food was good, the presentation was lacking making the menu items overpriced. Our server made the experience worthwhile.

The steak was over cooked, I asked for medium well. The shrimp appetizer and African Lobster Tail was the best.

My husband and I enjoyed everything about our first dining experience at Stephen Lelli's. I had the lamb chops, and they were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. I felt comfortable enough, when I had finished the knife and fork work, to pick up the bones and consume every last morsel! My husband had Chicken Parm and pronounced it excellent even though he is usually a man of faint praise. Dale was our server, and he was gracious, attentive but not hovering, and easily available if we had a question or request. It was a lovely night, but we chose to sit inside. Neither of us hears well, and we very much appreciated the quiet ambience. Lelli's downtown was always one of our favorite restaurants, and Stephen is continuing the tradition. The Lelli name does not disappoint!

It was my dad’s 82nd birthday. It was reserved as such and never acknowledged.

I got the surf & turf and he got the dinner filet. Both of our steaks tasted like rubber. We couldn’t even eat them. They brought out a salmon to replace mine. Nothing was done other than that so we paid $250 (not including the tip) for steaks we couldn’t even eat and no credit was given. I’m not sure if they normally do anything for anniversaries but nothing was done for us there either. It was a very disappointing experience. I’d recommend they invest in much higher quality filets if they intend to continue charging those prices.

I was a little apprehensive, considering the current virus situation, but all severs and wait staff were masked and the placement of tables ensured adequate distancing from other patrons. As usual, the service and food was spectacular. My wife and I both had the Filet Mignon dinner and it arrived just as my wife finished her salad and I my minestrone soup. After we finished, we reluctantly declined offers of desert and received our bill and receipt promptly. We will definitely be returning.

This is one of our absolute favorite restaurants, because it is always a great experience.

We were privileged to witness an wedding engagement. The restaurant set up a separate outdoor dining area for them. It was beautiful. They even had a harp playing. Luckily she said yes. Congratulations to the happy couple.
Scott was our waiter and he was very attentive. He even dropped the screen when then sun was shining in at sunset. We were seated on the patio. We both had the Filets and they were done to perfection. The 1939 Salad we large enough for us to split and take some home. We will be going back again.

My first time, but the ladies with me have enjoyed Lelli's previously and made the recommendation. We were happy to have gotten the requested outdoor seating. We all enjoyed our dishes and selected a variety of appetizers to share. We got off to a slow start by experiencing a server change that caused our apps to be delayed coming out of the kitchen, but our replacement was much more charismatic and got us caught up quickly. We had one small issue with the bill where we were charged for a side that never arrived, but that was quickly corrected and no big deal since we had forgotten about it, also. I was also very pleased to see that your inventory manager stocked Valentine's Old Tom barrel-aged Liberator.

Our waiter was amazing. We really enjoyed our shrimp Lelli! There was a large party that had unruly children just running around and the parents were ambivalent of their impact on others around them. If not for them our experience was lovely.

One of the best steak houses in the Detroit area. Everything they do from the point you enter the building is superb.

Lellie always comes thru...great food and service! They do take their time, so if you are in a rush let them know. Its a classic white table cloth experience. We had another great time.

Had a wonderful evening with family for a birthday celebration and it was our first time there. Food was excellent along with the service! Veal Marsala was amazing!
