Steve Fields Steak and Lobster Lounge Ratings and Reviews
Venerable Steve Fields still maintains a good neighborhood feel, while providing a little bit of city feel in Plano. Lounge is still very active from beginning of dinner service to late night, with a live piano/lounge singer that provides fun, adult entertainment. Main dining room shares in some of the live lounge music, depending on location.
As expected after many years dining here, the service was prompt and friendly - based on our desire. crab cake appetizer was spot-on - especially with a chardonnay and martini starter from the bar. soup (crab corn chowder) and spinach salad also hit the mark. peppercorn filet and aussie lobster tail were properly executed and sided with wonderful sauteed broccoli (thanks for that off-menu request); Jeff provided a good option for a bottle of pinot for the disparate mains. caramel chocolate cake puts the butter in butter-cream, and allows seconds on another day.
thanks lyft for the ride over and home. thanks Steve, Jeff and Jason for another great meal and time
From the moment I entered the restaurant to then last bite of my delicious Bone-in Prime Steak, everything about this restaurant was simply amazing! My waiter was on fire with awesome service, the manager came over to ensure my experience was pleasant, and l just loved being able to have a quite dinner to myself without interruption or chaos. Even though I was dining alone, the ambiance and staff made me feel warm and comfortable.
I also had the spinach salad...delicious...and a smooth glass of Merlot to compliment the meal. Let me just say 'thank you' to the chef as well for my perfectly cooked steak...l look forward to my next visit!
The meal was quite good overall. We started with a crab cake and shrimp cocktail and both were tasty. I enjoyed a beefsteak tomato salad for my second course. The server failed to get me silverware before the salad was served, and she failed to see she hadn't set me any silver. I took advantage of a "6&6", six ounce filet and six ounce Australian lobster tail. The flavor of both was good, but not great. My wife enjoyed her salmon that was on the menu. This restaurant is a classic steakhouse, but not as polished as some higher end houses.
My first time to Steve Fields. My wife and I️ really enjoyed it. Beautiful restaurant. Perfect lighting. Hostess and waiter were really nice , like they enjoyed being there and serving. Crab cake appetizer was incredible. I️ had the salmon and added scallops. Salmon was seasoned perfectly and tasted amazing. Scallops were good but not as good as salmon. My wife had crusted halibut and it was amazing as well. There was also live music but it was not overpowering. My wife and I️ were able to talk and hear each other just fine. Noise level is moderate. I️ really like this place. The combination of beautiful restaurant, impeccable service level and great food make it a special place. We will be back.
Overall it was a bit above average as far as the total experience and that was due to the food which was delicious.
The reason(s) I was disappointed in the other aspects of the evening was the waiter was not as engaging and friendly as I would expect at a high end establishment and the other reason I was disappointed was it was a special occasion event for me and my wife(our 11 year anniversary) which I noted on my Open Table reservation and confirmed with a follow up call to see if the restaurant received my note which they did. All I was looking for was something like what they did for the table next to us when they brought out a small cake and wished the person Happy Birthday but for us nothing. No congratulations no acknowledgement nothing. The waiter didn't even ask if we were there for anything special.
So that part was a let down because I was hoping for something to make the evening especially memorable.
As I mentioned though the food was great and the wine recommendation by the somiler was also good so it wasn't a bad experience just a little disappointing.
The food was exquisite! The service was fair. When my waiter picked up a piece of king crab leg shell that dropped on the floor and placed it back on my plate of left overs that he was heading off to box up for me, that was it for me. I couldn't believe that happened in such a revered restaurant. He had full tip amount until then.
We have been here once before during restaurant week and based on the great time we have than, we came back with friends. Well this was terrible!!! Server could remember the specials, couldn't figure out what we ordered...
One of us got a terrible cut of fillet that was also over cooked and when we asked if it could be redone the waitress was mostly useless. The manager came out and was outright rude about it. Sides came out wrong for two of us as well.
When the second cut of the fillet was equally terrible the manager came and asked what he could make instead, we said nothing thanks you. He seemed to get visibly upset and said"well I can't know the cut is bad. I don't raise the cows!"
Nothing was comped and they never came back to check how we were doing after that. $300 spent of horrible service and OK food at best! We will not be back!
Exceptional evening as always! Thank you Stuart for your wonderful service. You were perfectly attentive without being intrusive. Thank you bar staff for great martinis! Thank you kitchen staff for perfectly prepared salmon and bone in rib eye. Thank you Steve and Jeff for always making us feel like special guests! Can't wait to be back!
