About Steve and Rocky's
Steve & Rocky's purchases live oysters, lobsters, mussels, day boat caught fin fish, (un-soaked) sea scallops, fresh aged meats, extremely fresh produce, real heavy cream, pure unsalted butter, imported cheeses, and extra virgin olive oil. All of these fresh ingredients are rigorously specified based on our extremely high and exacting standards, painstakingly shopped based upon seasonality, and carefully inspected upon receipt. At Steve & Rocky's, critical ingredients are delivered daily to insure freshness. Their purveyors know that they will not accept anything but the absolute best quality ingredients and after years of working with them and competing to earn their business, they only send their very best. In the summer months, Chef Steve grows organic produce for the restaurant on his personal micro-farm.
Though many say Steve & Rocky's specializes in Seafood, Chefs Steve Allen and Chuck Rachwitz feel that the menu is diverse with something for every one's taste.

Steve and Rocky's Ratings and Reviews
The food is always fabulous. The bummer part was that they were overbooked. We had a reservation, and did not sit for 45 minutes past the reservation time. When people make a reservation, the expectation is that the restaurant honor that and have designated tables for those reservations. Our waitress was so sweet and good, but service was super slow because of the overbooking. It took a long time to get drinks, or to take our orders. The managers stepped in great when they saw waitstaff was busy.
We have dined at S&R for almost 20 years. It is always an enjoyable meal, lunch or dinner. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We introduce all our friends to this venue. Top quality. It is a 4 star restaurant with 2 star prices. Highly recommend to you. They do larger parties as well as usual.
Underwhelmed is the word I would use. Between poor wait service and other staff dragging along the folding tray holder and the fruit flies in abundance, I found it not to be worth a return visit quite honestly. A member of my party even went to the manager and he said he'd take care of us but that basically meant he came and removed bread plates that had been left once our entrees had been boxed. Scallops were the delight of the event. Service was not. Even coffee service was poor.
There are so many restaurants in the Novi area, yet we consistently find ourselves at Steve and Rocky’s and are always disappointed when we go elsewhere. If you look at my other reviews you can see that I dine out a lot all over the country so I know what I like - this place always exceeds expectations!
For example, last night I was in the mood for a steak. Steve and Rocky’s isn’t known as being a steakhouse necessarily. There was a t-bone on the menu but I asked if they had any other steaks. The waiter went to check options in the kitchen and chef Steve himself came out to see what I had in mind. He helped me decide on a nice ribeye and it was as good or better than I’ve had I dozens of places that specialize in steaks! How many places can you go and get that kind of personalized service? Top notch food, great service, and a great vibe combined for another outstanding dinner out with the family! Thanks Steve and Rocky’s! We’ll be back often!
Unfortunately we made reservations and requested a booth--when we arrived they did not have a booth and there were 2 private parties going on and they sat us right in the middle of the two parties--which made our experience less than optimal. The food was fabulous. The manager came over and asked how we were doing--offered to move us--however we were right in the middle of our meal--a little late with the offer. When we said no--he just shrugged. I would recommend strictly based on the food. Service was fair.
My husband and I went to Steve and Rocky’s on Thanksgiving day. The service was very slow, and server was moody. It took 30 min just to get a glass of wine. We were in the restaurant for 2 hours, we ordered an appetizer and entree. Our entrees also came out 20 minutes apart, due to a misunderstanding between our server and the kitchen. I had the ribeye, which was over cooked but I still enjoyed it. My husband had the pork tenderloin and spatzle, the spatzle was burned, would not recommend this entree.
Service was extremely slow and it wasn't apparent that it was because they were busy because there were several Empty tables. The food was tasteless, portions were small, everything was dumped on top of each other. It was not an enjoyable meal for the six of us.
I brought my mother to Thanksgiving dinner; she was able to enjoy a traditional turkey meal and I was happy to have a delicious vegetarian option of stuffed acorn squash. Everyone was very welcoming and gracious and we were very glad we came. Our server took the time to snap a photo of us to commemorate the day.
Has been excellent previous visits. Very disappoint this visit for Thanksgiving dinner at 6. Mahi portion was very thin and small and way over cooked. Prices were not worthy of the food and poor service. Plenty of available seating but was placed ina booth vs table next to the piano and difficult to communicate.
My steak was very undercooked and unseasoned... Sent back, next steak prepared exactly the same, raw and unseasoned. Third time... The meat was cut into pieces and overcooked... Dry and chewy. No discount offered and I didn't eat any of the steak... The server was excellent, but the food was garbage and I paid well over a hundred dollars... Worst experience I've ever had
Steve & Rocky's continues to deliver excellent food with super service. Their recent increase in prices was a bit of a shock (some went up 25%), but it is mildly acceptable. We had their duck and range-chicken and both were done perfectly. The ganache dessert, despite the price increase, was excellent - don't forget to order it when you order your entrees.
The restaurant was virtually empty on a Sunday evening and yet it took forever to get our food. Then when we got it our orders were wrong and steaks horrible. Their kids menu was not a kids menu. It had adult food on it and yet they told me on the phone they had kids food. I had to buy a fillet for my kids to eat. We will not be going back.
Steve & Rocky's is a good stand-by restaurant. Service and food are usually quite consistent. Many of the servers have been with the establishment for several years--which is a good indication that they are treated decently and enjoy the working environment.
I did not have a good experience . I ordered Salmon and I ask for steam spinach and the spinach came out covered in lots of oil. The Waitress was not a people friendly person. To start off with a not so friendly waitress and then get your dinner such that I couldn't eat it. The night was ruined. The manager came over and offered dessert. I didn't want dessert. I just wanted to have a great Anniversary dinner with my husband . This was our 22nd Anniversary night out. So no more dinner's here.
