Steve & Cookie's By the Bay Ratings and Reviews
My wife & I shared The duck & the special branzino which was paired with w/clams & spinach. The duck is always superb & the branzino was delicious. We opened w/two different oysters which were fresh & shucked perfectly. The service was spot on! It’s easy to see why Steve & Cookies was just ranked by Open Table as one of the 100 Best Restaurants in the US.
We had dinner Tuesday 12.5.17. We ordered the lobster mac and cheese, cauliflower steak, the crab imperial, and a negroni. Everything was delicious and drink was well made. Service was good. I have eaten here many times in the past and never had a glitch or bad experience. I have not been able to get back here in some time so I was happy it has not changed. Perfect dinner.
Steve and Cookies is our GoTo spot for birthdays, anniversaries, house guest entertaining. We'd go even more often if it were closer to our house. It is always excellent - service, wine choices and the food. There are usually too many choices , but I always get the same things! And Cookie is so generous with special occasion free dessert and holding the farmers' market - even indoors if the weather is dreadful. The place and she are gems.
The food is consistently excellent. I have told many friends that Steve and Cookies is THE place to eat at the shore. Joanne (sp?) is a true professional and represents Steve and Cookies in the most positive ways.
I must confess to a small frustration. I can NEVER get a Saturday reservation on Open Table, even in the deadest of winter times. Should I call? How does one go about a Saturday reservation in the "off" seasons?
p.s., My wife would pay handsomely for the recipe for the Noodle Bowl. She said if that's not possible, please add it to the menu asap.
All the best,
Shanya and Matt Kane
I usually dine in the oyster bar, but this past Sat we ate in the dining room. There were two major flaws. One, immediately after finishing our salads, our entrees arrived. This was unacceptable. Additionally, I had half my salmon leftover, and they took away for boxing to go. I asked for extra mustard sauce. There was no extra sauce in the box. The salmon was a little dry and overdone, and it needed the sauce. We live in AC, and have way too many restaurants to go to that we didn't need to be rushed through dinner in mid November. Service is everything and these two issues were service related.
