We made a same day reservation to celebrate our anniversary. Once we arrived there was confetti on the table a card with a drink certificate included to celebrate our anniversary. Everyone from the hostess at the front to each and every employee we encountered were friendly, helpful, pleasant and accommodating. Our water glasses never emptied. The house wine was great and the service was simply impeccable.
Started off with great service during seating, then with the wait staff, then the meal, and finally the dessert (the raspberry caramel sauce might be the best dessert sauce I've ever tasted).
Great early bird special
Excellent special occasion restaurant. The service was excellent!
Steak ordered medium-rare came out medium-well. It happens. They were gracious and got it fixed right away. Bone-in rib-eye could have been a bit thicker for this type of steakhouse. Food was outstanding otherwise. Risotto was awesome. We’ll go back.
great steak and manhattan fabulous------------------------------------------
Our lobster came barely warm and it was tough. First not so good meal there, so I'll go back; still, disappointed.
Our server was amazing! But sad to see that the food quality has dropped- 2 of the dishes were over cooked! And they used to have a great dessert cart and they don’t anymore!
We are local, but had never tried Sterling's. The service was excellent. The food was tasty. My only complaint would be that it's a little over-priced. The quality was worth it though. And the pistachio cheesecake was amazing.
Everything was great but the desert wasn’t prepared right.
Spent the weekend in Reno celebrating my husband’s birthday. Sterling’s Food, service and atmosphere was perfect. Staff professional and Gary, the manager stopped by our table several times, offering menu suggestions and was very entertaining. Good food and great service!
Service was poor. Our waiter rarely checked back. The sommelier & busboy provided better service. Two out of four in our party had stomach issues the next day. We are big fans of bistro roxy & la strada. We will not return to Sterling’s.
Everything was outstanding!!
Always have a great experience eating here. The food is fresh and the specials are worth trying. Staff is very personable and makes the experience that much better.
WE DINE AT THIS RESTAURANT EVERY TIME WE COME TO RENO. WE LOVE IT DEARLY. THEY SERVE THE BEST RIBEYE STEAKS AND THEY HOUSE SALAD WITH CREAMY BASIL DRESSING IS NOT ONLY BEAUTIFULLY PRESENTED BUT ALSO DELICIOUS.
Always amazing and great service. We treat ourselves to sterlings as often as we can.
We have been to Sterling's many times and it keeps impressing!! The staff goes out of their way to have fun and fulfill every need, and even before you have to ask. If you leave unhappy from this staff it is your own fault!!!!
It's a casino steakhouse, so what do you expect other than a good slab of meat. At a $250 tab for two with just one drink each, I can't justify the quality vs value cost & would likely not do it again.
We go every year for my wife’s birthday. Great food and great service from Sergio.
It was our 32nd anniversary and we hadn't tried Sterling's in over 20 years of living in Reno.
We had a very nice server named Jason, food was delicious and was creatively presented. Very large portions so we were too full for dessert. The ambience was nice for a special occasion like ours.
The food and service was the best and the food was amazing. It did take awhile for us to get our food but that's ok.
Waiter was rude. Served cold food and then left it on the bill. Never checked on us during dining experience, much less check to see my company was okay with their food (they had been missing from the table for a long time and it was a party of 2) Felt I was unwelcome. Happy Birthday to Me.
Restaurant has declined over time. This was a 1st class choice in prior years. Unfortunate, good memories but this visit touched bottom.
Staying at the peppermill and drove over to have dinner based on the trip advisor reviews. Sadly we were not impressed. Our waiter who was just going thru the motions was disengaged. We asked him how long he had worked there and he said since day one which was over 20 yrs. Our service girl that filled the water Dana was more attentive and personable than our waiter. My husband and I are not chatty people but both have hospitality back grounds and we just both picked up that the waiter could care less. Wine list was very good. Salad that came with dinner was very good. The blue cheese dressing was excellent. We did see a lot of people try the The mother of burgers which we will try if we come back there. But we were out for a nice dinner since we were in Reno for one night only. I ordered the filet Oscar style. We definitely noticed it looked like it sat under the hot lights too long as the sauce was dried up and the sauce had no flavor. It did not taste like a Bearnaise or Hollandaise sauce we had ever had. The crab meat was large leg pieces and very good. But you do pay for it. Also noted that when i ordered a baked potato the waiter asked if I wanted Butter and Sour cream? When he brought it our on a cart he put both on my potato and served to me. But the container on cart had Chives also which I asked him," oh do you have chives"? He said yes, which was on the cart but never offered to me. My husband ordered the Rack of lamb which was good but was disappointed with the sauce as the description stated mint flavored but he said he could not taste the mint. We normally stay for a after dinner drink and dessert but just was not feeling it. Last time we were in Reno we ate at Harrahs Steakhouse and loved it!!!
Jesse our server was fantastic exceptional customer service made our special occasion memorable. Overall 5 stars
Amazing service Kesley and Cody are awesome.
Not the best steakhouse in Reno (we prefer Harrahs) but it is ok.
Prices are too high when there are better steakhouses at cheaper prices.
We have eaten here several times in the past and it is still the best prime rib we have had
including a very popular restaurant in San Francisco that is supposed to be the best prime rib anywhere. Serving staff was great also. We will definitely eat here again.
A gentleman fainted behind me after our main course was delivered. I assisted him to make sure he was ok. the staff at Sterling's was amazing and promptly assisted him, calling medical staff. The Maître de was very helpful, Our waiter offered to freshen up our meals and bring new ones if needed. In the end they picked up the tab for our drinks and dessert. The entire staff was so attentive to the gentleman and me, all the while doing so with compassion and concern. It did not cause disruption to other diners, since they were calm and gentle. GREAT JOB to all!
My Filet Mignon/Risotto/Scallop meal was very good. Unfortunately, my date's Roasted Rosemary Breast of Chicken was not appetizing. The chicken was dry and overcooked and the potatoes were very bland. She had me taste it and it was underwhelming indeed. My date was very shy and didn't want to trouble the staff, so I'm writing this review on her behalf just so it doesn't happen to anyone else, hopefully.
This would be my third time there. And I would have to say the meal was not that great but the service and ambulance were awesome
Wonderful service, excellent food, attentive floor manager. Special touch to have my husband's flowers waiting at the table for me. Class that I usually see only in a major metropolitan Will enjoy this again and again.
The restaurant was dark . for the price they charge the portion was skimpy. The table were too close
The service was impeccable from the hostess and the wait staff! The wine list was impressive but the signature cocktails fell a little short. The presentation of each entree was beautiful but the flavor just wasn’t there for any of us. We had two seafood dishes, a steak and a pasta between the four of us and while the potions were huge (you can totally share entrees) the flavor was bland and unimpressive. It certainly wasn’t bad food it just wasn’t WOW food. The service and ambiance made up for the mild flavored food and the dessert menu was full of fun tasty choices.
We go to Sterling's generally every time we are in Reno and we have never been disappointed. The staff is always super friendly very helpful. The food was amazing. The wife and I actually shared a porterhouse and added a side of clam chowder and it was all delicious
We love Sterlings AND their Staff - Perfect as usual!
We've been to this restaurant several times when visiting Reno, this happened to be for our 38th wedding anniversary. I requested a booth on Open Table, but upon seating us we were given a table. Understanding our disappointment, Donald returned after a few moments and re-seated us in a booth. We ordered a Bottle of wine ($101) and our dinner. My husband ordered the special, Lobster ($70) while I had one of their vegetarian dishes. My husband had his soup and I finished my itty bitty salad and then we waited. And waited. And waited. No sign of our waiter Erik for about 45 minutes. Finally our entrees arrive. My husband's lobster was warm not hot and rubbery. My vegetarian dish was pretty good. It took about 15 minutes after we finished for Erik's "helper" to come take orders for coffee and dessert of which she served shortly after. But then it was wait, wait wait for the check. Again no Erik. After about 20 minutes I finally got up and went to the front where Donald was kind enough to locate Erik and get our check so we could leave and we did. When you spend over $300 on a meal for two, you expect more from your waiter. Maybe he had two many tables, I don't know...we won't be back to find out.
Waiter and staff were very attentive. Sommelier came by to chat about wine choice. Steaks were perfectly cooked and properly seasoned. You can reserve quiet booths for special occasions, and they place a card and decorations on your table prior to arrival. Manhatten was properly made.
Lovely ambiance, the food was exceptional and the service was fantastic!
My reservation was honored on time including the booth. Pleasantly, the salad arrived surrounded with the restaurants signature 'Crown' crouton which was novel and fun. Chateaubriand, presented medium rare as requested and perfectly carved table side. Worth ordering since it is not on many restaurant menus and it was delicious. Entree included vegetables and starch. The simple baked potato arrived perfectly cooked, hot with a salty skin. Robert Biale 2013 'Black Chicken' Zinfandel was perfect and one of many fine wines available. Fine stem ware and expertly poured during dinner. Two complementary strawberries dipped in chocolate were presented which was a nice surprise. Multiple levels of service, Will, Gary, and others lent to a perfect evening. When you are in the area... it's a good bet.
