Ruth’s Chris Steak House - Silver Legacy Resort Casino
Unfortunately, this steakhouse closed August 12th, 2018. Poor decision by corporate ownership, it will be replaced by a Ruth’s Chris in 4-5 months, great food and service, it’ll be missed
Sterling's has always been our choice for dinner when we visit Reno. We are disappointed to hear it will be closing. It will be a loss to the atmosphere of the Silver Legacy.
Great veggies and drinks. Just don’t order the chicken. Beyond overdone!
Went to Sterling’s one last time before they close forever. Loved the food, ambiance, service and overall everything, every time we went there. We will miss this restaurant!
Everything was absolutely wonderful! Best steak I have had in years, wonderful staff, highly recommend.
Would not recommend this place as it is closing on 8/12/18

Service was good was seated on time served in a timely manner
Excellent food and service. You will always be taken care of and treated like you are a regular.
We have been here several times for special occasions and we have not been disappointed yet! Our server Erik was amazing, attentive and engaged with our group. It was our daughter's 21st birthday dinner and they had a card for her as well as drink coupons for Silver Legacy. The food was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meals!
Excellent as always except for the fact that we had to wait to be seated due to the front end staff socializing with non-patrons. Management included.
Prime Rib and soup was very good. The side dishes were average. The Fettuccine Alfredo was not good.
Great steak and seafood with fair prices for the level of service and food quality.
First, as to ambience and people watching, we're talking Reno. Four of us celebrating an anniversary. One steak & lobster, One lobster tail, one rack of lamb and one salmon. Except for the watery garlic mashed potatoes and the lamb that was a tad over cooked, the food was excellent -- cooked just right, generous portions and perfectly seasoned. The service was superb. Very personable and friendly waiter (Ramon) with a delivery team that got the food to us timely (not to fast and not too slow) and hot. The deserts (cheese cake, ice cream with fruit, and a chocolate something or other (I can't remember what it was called) with coffee was a great finish to a great meal. I highly recommend this restaurant. Now for the bad news. Within the next two weeks, Sterlings will be replaced by a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Not Sterlings, but not Outback either.
Awesome place in my opinion. I ve brought my wife out here 3 times for her bday and this place has never disappointed us. The ambiance, desert and dinner is all worth the money
Superb experience, made our special occasion so special and our waiters were top notch!!!
Sorry to see you go.
We visited you every time we were in Reno and have never had a bad experience
You will be missed
We did not have any appetizers. The bread was warm and quite good. I had rack of lamb that was quite good. The sauce that came with it was OK but I used the mint jelly that I asked for when ordering. Got lots of vegetables but mostly Brussel sprouts which I don't really like. Should have ordered that asparagus that I started to before told I could double the vegetables. I ordered hollandaise sauce which was OK but lack-luster. Ordered Symphony of Chocolate. The flourless cake was dry. The writing of Symphony was cute but not edible. Overall, a disappointment. Ordered Baily's with decaf which was good but light on the Baily's . The wine was OK but for $100 I expected something more smooth. It had to breathe for a bit before being pretty good. I would not go back. Next year will go back to Harrah's Steak House or Tamarack Junction Steak House.
Of all the steak houses in the Reno area, this is my least favorite. This is not a steak house to avoid, but it can't live up to its high prices. The food and service was good, but not outstanding. Seating was average and atmosphere a bit noisy.
So sad. We've been dining at Sterling's at least annually for years, and it's been consistently going downhill in terms of both service and food over the last few years. It's sad that it's being replaced by Ruth's Chris, but sadder that we won't miss it.
On our most recent visit, the service was so inconsistent. First it felt like forever to get the wine ordered, and then the soup arrived before were done with the appetizer, and then we had to ask to have the salad course brought.
Nor was the food as spectacular as it had been in the past. The vegetables were barely cooked and inedible. The Oysters Rockefeller was doused in cheese, which I've never experienced, and while the shells were huge, I couldn't believe that these tiny oysters came out of those shells. It was mostly cheese and spinach. The food was lukewarm, as another reviewer noted.
Not sorry that it's our last time there.
I will start off by saying that Larry, our server was fantastic. He was attentive and took great care of us.
The food was a bit disappointing. There are other Reno steakhouses that are better. The fois Gras appetizer was cooked perfectly but the mango salad on top didn’t quite work. The Rockefeller were good, as was the salad. The lobster bisque was so salty that I returned it. The steaks were cooked as we ordered them but a bit under seasoned. Crime brûlée was yummy.
Overall we had a nice dinner but I would make other choices and try another restaurant next tine for the $$.
Service was perfect. Thank you.
We were there for our 30th anniversary and were completely satisfied with our meal.
We arrived and were promptly seated in a booth, that had been perfectly prepared for us. Our waiter, Sergio, was very attentive and very courteous . We ordered prime rib and an order of crab legs. They were excellent. The maitre d , Gary , came by twice to make sure everything was perfect. It was. Unfortunately someone has decided to close Sterling's. What a shame. It will be sorely missed.
It is true old style steakhouse in ambiance and food. Too bad they are closing it to replace it with a Ruth Chris steakhouse. Ruth Chris is good but will never compare to Sterlings.
Impeccable service, wonderful menu selections, friendly and caring staff.
DIVER SCALLOPS were to seriously "die" for. I have never had such a
succulent, sweet scallop in all of my short 57 years on planet earth.
While the pricing seems a tad on the steep side... this place is soooo worth the $$$.

I tipped a healthy 29% --- the staff alone earn every penny.
When was the last time you had the Restaurant GM stop by your table
and acknowledge / engage the entire group in conversation...? Long time, huh?
Those days seem to have disappeared --- not at STERLING'S. The GM was
so personable, knew about my husband's 60th birthday and really took the
"extra-step" and went the "extra-mile" to make our experience that much
more enjoyable and memorable.
Thank you STERLING'S for making my
husband's 60th birthday dinner a
most memorable event -- one we will never forget anytime soon.
Our server, Lira, was outstanding. We love the ambiance, the food, the wonderful Ferrari-Carson wines, and the blue-cheese stuffed olives for our martinis! We wish Sterling’s would be there forever!
Excellent dining experience. This was our second visit in 5 days, were lucky to have Eric as our waiter both times. The service, meal, ambiance, everything was perfect. Sorry to see if changing hands to Ruth’s Chris, this place is a real find and a great place for a first class meal. Thanks you to Eric, his assistant Manuel, and the chefs- really enjoyed ourselves.
My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary. First time at the restaurant and was pleasantly impressed and just loved the whole experience. We will definitely be returning.
We were there for a bachelor party. Attempted to find the nicest steak in Reno and it was underwhelming. Not bad by any means, and maybe the best that Reno can offer.
Waiter was courteous and polite. Food was amazing. It was a nice night out with my husband.
Great quality dining. Hear its closing in August so that is a loss.
Awesome meal and service made my partner birthday celebration great. Gary is the best of the best. Truly an amazing place sorry to see it go it will be missed
Great place that was enjoyed for years. It is sad to see it close so a chain steakhouse can go in.
Sad to hear that Ruth Chris is going to take over. We will miss going there
Our service was outstanding! My wife and I were celebrating our 39th anniversary and were immediately greeted and wished happy anniversary. The service was timely and we wish to give a big shout out to Andrea, the waiters second! She was courteous, friendly, and took excellent care of us. We were made to feel very special and being locals, family. We will recommend the restaurant to friends and family and anyone who might ask about a good place to eat. Thanks again to Andrea and the entire staff!
We had a wonderful evening entertaining friends from Japan. The staff...very friendly, helpful and most cordial. The wine selection...very good, the menu ...many items to choose from and a knowledgeable waiter to help! All in all a very good experience and we look forward to returning.
Gary was fantastic, very understanding all the staff excellent! If I could give 100 stars I would. Good food, people and environment. This restaurant really goes over and beyond, best experience yet with fancy dining. Very kid friendly and can also be a great place for a dinner date. I will defiantly come back if I am in town.
My friends and I go back every year because the food is wonderful, the champagne is delicious, and the service perfect.
The Sterling Restaurant has been our favorite for over 20 years. Everyone is very friendly, attentive, good food & excellent service. Sorry to hear it will be changing. The atmosphere is great
We’ve been to Sterling’s many times over the years and this is the first time it wasn’t up to par. Disappointed. From appetizers to desert, it was mediocre. Cherries Jubilee was fun to watch but again, disappointed. Possibly this is the result of Ruth Chris Steakhouse taking its place by years end.
My wife and I went to the steak house for my birthday. Outstanding meal and great service. Very relaxing and never felt rushed. Going back next month. Great experience
