Sterling's Seafood Steakhouse at Silver Legacy Resort Casino
I will start off by saying that Larry, our server was fantastic. He was attentive and took great care of us.
The food was a bit disappointing. There are other Reno steakhouses that are better. The fois Gras appetizer was cooked perfectly but the mango salad on top didn’t quite work. The Rockefeller were good, as was the salad. The lobster bisque was so salty that I returned it. The steaks were cooked as we ordered them but a bit under seasoned. Crime brûlée was yummy.
Overall we had a nice dinner but I would make other choices and try another restaurant next tine for the $$.
Service was perfect. Thank you.
We were there for our 30th anniversary and were completely satisfied with our meal.
We arrived and were promptly seated in a booth, that had been perfectly prepared for us. Our waiter, Sergio, was very attentive and very courteous . We ordered prime rib and an order of crab legs. They were excellent. The maitre d , Gary , came by twice to make sure everything was perfect. It was. Unfortunately someone has decided to close Sterling's. What a shame. It will be sorely missed.
It is true old style steakhouse in ambiance and food. Too bad they are closing it to replace it with a Ruth Chris steakhouse. Ruth Chris is good but will never compare to Sterlings.
Impeccable service, wonderful menu selections, friendly and caring staff.
DIVER SCALLOPS were to seriously "die" for. I have never had such a
succulent, sweet scallop in all of my short 57 years on planet earth.
While the pricing seems a tad on the steep side... this place is soooo worth the $$$.

I tipped a healthy 29% --- the staff alone earn every penny.
When was the last time you had the Restaurant GM stop by your table
and acknowledge / engage the entire group in conversation...? Long time, huh?
Those days seem to have disappeared --- not at STERLING'S. The GM was
so personable, knew about my husband's 60th birthday and really took the
"extra-step" and went the "extra-mile" to make our experience that much
more enjoyable and memorable.
Thank you STERLING'S for making my
husband's 60th birthday dinner a
most memorable event -- one we will never forget anytime soon.
Our server, Lira, was outstanding. We love the ambiance, the food, the wonderful Ferrari-Carson wines, and the blue-cheese stuffed olives for our martinis! We wish Sterling’s would be there forever!
Excellent dining experience. This was our second visit in 5 days, were lucky to have Eric as our waiter both times. The service, meal, ambiance, everything was perfect. Sorry to see if changing hands to Ruth’s Chris, this place is a real find and a great place for a first class meal. Thanks you to Eric, his assistant Manuel, and the chefs- really enjoyed ourselves.
My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary. First time at the restaurant and was pleasantly impressed and just loved the whole experience. We will definitely be returning.
We were there for a bachelor party. Attempted to find the nicest steak in Reno and it was underwhelming. Not bad by any means, and maybe the best that Reno can offer.
Waiter was courteous and polite. Food was amazing. It was a nice night out with my husband.
Great quality dining. Hear its closing in August so that is a loss.
Awesome meal and service made my partner birthday celebration great. Gary is the best of the best. Truly an amazing place sorry to see it go it will be missed
Great place that was enjoyed for years. It is sad to see it close so a chain steakhouse can go in.
Sad to hear that Ruth Chris is going to take over. We will miss going there
Our service was outstanding! My wife and I were celebrating our 39th anniversary and were immediately greeted and wished happy anniversary. The service was timely and we wish to give a big shout out to Andrea, the waiters second! She was courteous, friendly, and took excellent care of us. We were made to feel very special and being locals, family. We will recommend the restaurant to friends and family and anyone who might ask about a good place to eat. Thanks again to Andrea and the entire staff!
We had a wonderful evening entertaining friends from Japan. The staff...very friendly, helpful and most cordial. The wine selection...very good, the menu ...many items to choose from and a knowledgeable waiter to help! All in all a very good experience and we look forward to returning.
Gary was fantastic, very understanding all the staff excellent! If I could give 100 stars I would. Good food, people and environment. This restaurant really goes over and beyond, best experience yet with fancy dining. Very kid friendly and can also be a great place for a dinner date. I will defiantly come back if I am in town.
My friends and I go back every year because the food is wonderful, the champagne is delicious, and the service perfect.
The Sterling Restaurant has been our favorite for over 20 years. Everyone is very friendly, attentive, good food & excellent service. Sorry to hear it will be changing. The atmosphere is great
We’ve been to Sterling’s many times over the years and this is the first time it wasn’t up to par. Disappointed. From appetizers to desert, it was mediocre. Cherries Jubilee was fun to watch but again, disappointed. Possibly this is the result of Ruth Chris Steakhouse taking its place by years end.
My wife and I went to the steak house for my birthday. Outstanding meal and great service. Very relaxing and never felt rushed. Going back next month. Great experience
My favorite restaurant in Reno. Service cannot be beat Food is always delicious. You cannot go wrong with this steak house
I don’t think it is really fair to judge our dining experience off of there everyday meals and service. We happened to be there on an extremely busy night and there was a mix up in the kitchen. Our food was not up to the restaurants standards. The steaks were undercooked and over cooked. Along with the additional sides we added. The shrimp wasn’t prepared properly. I think I it was just a rough night for the cooks. Lots of big parties in the restaurant. However the wait staff we had were fantastic, knowing full well the kitchen issues are out of their hands, they were so courteous, attentive and personable. They made the experience enjoyable.
This might be the last time my wife and I eat here, since Ruth's Chris steakhouse is soon to occupy this spot in the Silver legacy. Our food and desert were fabulous as usual! Sorry to see you go!!
We have been going here for years while in Reno at the rodeo, and the last few years it’s quality in food and service has been really slipping in comparison to their prices. It’s sad to say but I really think that Sterlings has slipped to just a really over priced restaurant that’s trying to be fancy and upscale but the food and service is just not up to par. It is absolutely no Morton’s or Fleming’s even. Very sad Bc it used to be a delicious treat while in Reno. Several people that where in town for the event have also made similar comments this year after eating there.
Greatest service ever, great food and vibe!
We went to Sterling’s celebrating Father’s Day and our upcoming anniversary. Our server James, was excellent and very attentive. His associate Shane, was equally as efficient and attentive. The food was delicious and the ambience was great! I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re visiting Reno.
Anniversary. Service was exceptional and the food was timely and delicious. Only complaint was that not all of the vegetables were cooked thoroughly. But overall a wonderful meal.
Great food and service. We had a wonderful evening
We love Sterlings and dine there at least once every time we visit Reno - I cannot believe that they are closing Sterlings (The BEST restaurant in Reno!) to put in a box-store steak house Ruth Cristie's. UGH!!!!
Great meal with awesome customer service My only wish was that they have more diet controlled options for low carb and gluten free eaters
Service was spot on. Food selections were varied. Large portions. Steak was prepared exactly as I like it. Reasonable prices. Great wine list
We have a great experience at sterling steak restaurant. Great food and great services. My petite filet mignon was cooked exactly medium rare, nice juice and tender. My wife salmon was juicy and tasty. The service was great. The dinner special I have was definitely worth the value.
Great experience, but sad it’s closing to become a Ruth Chris steak house
Maybe the cooks don't care anymore since Sterling's is being turned into a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, but in the thirteen plus years that we have eaten there this was our only bad experience, and it was horrible. Of the four meals, one steak was properly cooked, one filet was overcooked, and the lobster and scallops were almost raw, as though they hadn't even been in the kitchen. The baked potato was also undercooked. Hopefully the new management will get the meal preparation back to the excellence that we were used to.
The food is not bad. Service is top notch. Atmosphere is great for semi fine dinning. I would say the food is at the expensive end compares to other restaurants nearby.
Our waiter was horrible. He asked for our order and walked away as I was telling him what I wanted. WALKED AWAY!!! No “excuse me” No “hang on” just walked away.
Food was mediocre at best.
The service was great but our entrees were not hot. Just warm. Not worth the money at all.
My French Onion soup looked and tasted like it came out of a microwave, no sign on bowl that it hat been baked in the oven to melt and tan the cheese, and the onions was not caramelized as supposed to.
I have a chewing problem, so ordered my steak medium, but got rare, not a problem, I took it home and cooked it, but that defeat the purpose of dining out.
Finally, I the Brenaise, I am aware that it contains vinegar, but that is NOT supposed to be the dominant taste. my bearnaise tasted pure vinegar, and I was charged $8 extra for it.
The only thing that save them from a 0 star rating is a friendly, efficient and attentive waiting staff.
I ordered the smaller filet, with pink center not bloody, came over cooked and chewy, not happy with paying $42 for it. Husband got special, which was a thinner filet and shrimp, he loved it as his steak was perfect. He loved the bread and clam chowder, I am gluten intolerant so I couldn’t enjoy. But the gluten free chocolate symphony was delicious.
