Stephen's on State
3 times here not one bad time I’ll be back again . Makes this Survey easier only thing I can complain about.
First visit. Nice to see live act playing. Food was good, Service was good. Pricing would keep me from coming back frequently.
I went to this restaurant for the first time on a weeknight. There is a decent wine list and the menu is acceptable. My dining companion enjoyed his stuffed chicken. The wedge salad was very good but shrimp lejon was disappointing, since it was deep fried, rather than broiled. The wait staff were pleasant and seemed eager to please. For the prices of the entrees, the atmosphere and ambiance did not really seem to match. It seemed more like a sports bar with a loud television from the bar heard in the dining room. I might try this place again for a quick cocktail at the bar.
Good food and excellent service. Will definitely return.
Service was excellent during a busy night. Food was delicious.
Excellent food, excellent service, relaxed atmosphere, what more can you ask?
Food was fantastic and we got a reservation for 4 on a Saturday night with no problem. Around 8:30 a band started playing and it got LOUD. Thankfully we were done our meal, but it would be have been very difficult to have a conversation once they got going.
My fiends and I got together for a pre-thanksgiving party. All of us really enjoyed the food.
Service and atmosphere was also excellent.
Very nice place, nice menu, great service, nice people
Everything was great. Service, attention and quality of the food was excellent. The only negative was the Cesear salad-lacking in flavor.
For maybe ten minutes they didnt realize we were seated. After i asked someone for a server they apologized and gave us 2 free glasses of wine. Loud place but very good food.
Good food and good service. Nice portions and quality for the price. We'll definitely come back again!
The food was great.
Good spot, the steaks were done just right and the service was very good. Good oysters, and the fried cheesecake dessert thing was on point.
Awesome in every way! Tom was an amazing server! The food was delicious!
food was very good but the noise level was off the charts. Very difficult to even carry on a conversation
The food was very good but the sound level was off the charts! So loud we were getting a headache on a busy Friday night.
I was there during Restaurant Week and found the choices all to be top end and delicious!
Always a delicious meal!
Our first trip here was very good over 1 year ago. However our last 2 trips have been very disappointing. Last night the service was poor, food was expensive and we decided not to come again.
My meal was Delicious!!!!! I highly recommend your restaurant
Dinner was great at Stephen's - the steak was cooked perfectly and our waiter could not have been more attentive. Definitely be back!
You would think when you have to pay 51.00 for a steak you wouldn’t have to pick the toilet paper off the floor
Food was very good and service was even better. Nice find in Media
Live music and a ribeye with mashed potatoes & spinach made for a perfect Thursday evening.
Crab flatbread...something is missing. Mushrooms, crab, jack, chipotle sauce.... something isnt mixing. Quite disappointed. The fries with our sandwiches were just sad. Skin on potatoes were very starchy, dry looking with no flavor. Neither one of us are more than 2 fries off our plate. Last time for dinner was better.
HORRIBLE SERVICE. Took my mother in law for her 60 birthday. We were in town from Florida just to take her out for her birthday and chose this restaurant based on pretty good reviews. The service was horrible. It took 10 minutes for some one to even take our drink order then another 30 minutes to actually get the drinks after I asked about them twice. We also never got straws or sweeteners for coffee. I had to keep asking for obvious things we needed. When the waitress did finally come over she would give us dirty looks and huff and puff as if she was annoyed by us. She never offered to do anything for the birthday or the fact she knew we were unhappy with the service. The bill was about $250 and we still tipped 20% because we don't tip below that but we will never ever be back.
We walked in and it was very noisy. Asked to be seated in the back and the hostess was accommodating. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient but the food was subpar. I got the Veal And it was over cooked and very salty. Others in our party enjoyed their meal but felt it was over priced.
A real disappointment. The mashed potatoes accompanying the crab cakes were ice cold. The waitress took them back to the kitchen, so they came back piping hot, but the bottoms of the crab cakes were burned. Two of us had pasta dishes, and the pasta was spongy -- probably overcooked? Two of us has chicken parmigiano, and the chicken was also burned on the bottom. The food was otherwise uninspired. The best thing was my husband's filet mignon, which was cooked just right. Another plus was the waitress, Kelly, who tried really hard and who was very pleasant. This restaurant is fairly expensive, so I think the food should at least be cooked properly.
The food was excellent. However one of our guest has major food allergies. The server and the kitchen staff did not take our request serious. Our guest was extremely nervous to eat her dinner as she thought her throat might close
Food was fantastic , service was a tad slow not sure if it was on purpose or the server. But they didn’t rush us at all.
We always frequent Stephens Prime on State street for the "Dining Under the Star". It is an annual theme.
Also they have great bands.
Food was pricey and just ok, not up to par compared to other restaurants with same type of food.
Excellent meal in every way. I had the chicken stuffed with Italian sausage and aged provolone and my wife had the Maryland crab cakes. Tasty. Well prepared and presented.
It is hard to evaluate because the services were very slow. Always had to track
down our waitress. However, it turned out to be dining under the stars
I love this place.Celebrate Valentine’s Day and by husband for 10 years
Good food and great service. However, since it was Dining under the Stars and outdoor seating, the tables were really crowded together and the ambience was very noisy (though also lively and festive). Also, this evening they had no live music which was disappointing. I would still recommend it to friends to try out at a different time.
Overall, I was disappointed by our dinner at Stephen's on State. The food was decent but not outstanding. The buffalo chicken pierogi appetizer was very good. My husband liked his Veal Saltimbocca, and it was a very generous portion. I had the salmon, and it was good but not great. I like that they serve bread, and the bread was good. My wine was almost tasteless- I got a glass of Pinot Noir and I've never had a wine with less taste. My husband's Malbec was better. For the prices, I would have expected a nicer set up- our table had marks all over it, more like a bar table than a nicer restaurant. One table in the dining room had a tablecloth- it was very odd. The service was ok- our waitress did her job but was rather ambivalent. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but wasn't worth the cost in my opinion.
Ordered two side dishes and did not get them.
Not sure why I was not allowed to box my own food to take home..... if your staff has to booked the food it should be done at the table.
