Stephen's on State
We enjoyed our 13th year anniversary. We come here often. I had the mignon which was mouth watering, and my wife got the Stephens Chicken. The Tarimesu was perfect! Great 👍 place.
Everything was fantastic I suggest the window seat
Excellent food and service. I would highly recommend Stephen's.
Crystal our server was amazng. I had the Chicken Stephen and it was delicious. We also had the prime rib egg rolls as an appetizer and they were amazing. We'll definately go back.
I'm not much of a Groupon purchaser but decided to try one for Stephen's. Made a reservation on a beautiful Sunday evening after the Eagles opening game, had a small table by one of the open windows, a wonderful glass of wine, excellent bread with a good oil dipping mixture, an awesome dinner and one of the best servers we could have asked for along with the other assisting staff. My husband said as we left what a great, relaxing and enjoyable dinner it was! We'll be back for sure!
The service was very good, the waiter was very nice. The food was not good at all. The appetizer was over cooked as well as my steak.
Loved it, will return.
Service was slow. The server apologized, which was an acknowledgment of the slow service but didn’t make the experience better. The food probably would have tasted better if it wasn’t cold. Maybe she forgot I was a customer, I don’t know. The appetizer was very tasty and the wine was extremely good. After that, it went south
Service was fantastic!
Husband and I went for a date night. Casual atmosphere., very lively. Greeted by a friendly hostess. Where we were originally seated, there was no ambiance as we were among larger tables that were loud. The lighting in that area was really bright and harsh. Looking around, there were a couple open tables near the front of house that were more dimly lit and removed from the loud chatter. We couldn’t sit there after asking bc there was a DJ coming in but there was a side table where the hostess was happy to seat us. The server was prompt and offered suggestions after we asked. My husband decided on one of their specials not listed on the main menu (blackened sea bass with shrimp). I had crab cakes with mashed potatoes and asparagus from the main menu. We agreed to share. In the meantime we had drinks and apps. The soup my husband had was a Maryland seafood chowder in a red sauce. It was tasty but a little sweet. Would be better with a little bit more spice. I had fried calamari and I enjoyed it. Hubby had white cran Cosmo. It was meh. I had a blue lemonade drink( can’t recall the name) but it was very tasty. Ordered a second. Hubby ordered his drink again after expressing disappointment with first. Server said she would talk to the bartender. Second time the drink is much stronger but still meh. Just lacked flavor. Either way we were chilling and it wasn’t a huge deal. Then out of nowhere all of the lights went up bright! Like last call in a club even though it was early still. The friendly hostess tried to adjust the lighting back down but didn’t really work and it kinda killed the mood. Anyway main entrees: Hubby’s food was so freaking delicious. I wish I had ordered. My crab cakes were underwhelming. No real lump and truthfully not a lot of flavor. But my husband gave me a piece of his fish which helped my meal taste better. Skipped dessert. Was still charged for original bad drink. Would give them another try. Not a romantic place but good for a meal.
Ribeye was delicious! Diver's Scallop Plate was wonderful. Received a okay review due to the soups. Crab Soup was more like vegetable soup and clam chowder had very little clams. But the main entrees were good.
Food was great! Staff was friendly. Restaurant could use some updating.
Food was delicious service was great. Drinks were good as well.
Nice experience but, to be honest, the food was just fair. Two orders of scallops were just ok but more flat than fresh. The crab cakes for my wife tasted a bit tired. If we go back will stick to steaks or chicken. The seafood just did not taste as fresh as it should have for the price.

The restaurant was very cold and some of the food was salty but its a nice place
The ribeye steak I ordered was disappointing. It was medium, not medium rare as I ordered. I usually order a ribeye when I eat out and this was very chewy and tough. I will not order it again on my next visit. For a $44 steak, it was definitely not good value.
My steak was overdone, but overall quality was great. Our server was excellent. Their prices are high, but with a Groupon, affordable.
a great meal - great service and reasonable prices for a cooked to order meal.
Service not great-forgot one of our appetizers-no apology. Slow to refill drinks. Very dark inside except window seats. Food good but not great
Date night with my fiancé and we have been here before. Friendly service and atmosphere was nice. Groupon had a great deal to dine in and we took advantage and enjoyed ourselves. Told family and friends and it’s very likely we will return.
A old favorite of mine. I had the shrimp Lejon for “starter”. I had the prime rib sandwich but I regret this only because I did not enjoy/want the bread.
I found the price of the main entrees like filet to be a bit over priced - $45.
My wife had the Seafood Bucatini which had a spaghetti type pasta as the base which was hard to eat and too much. It also seemed at bit pricey $29.
The desert was tiramisu which was excellent.
The other disappointment is we could not use all of the $100 Groupon. They offered to let us take out something for the remaining value but neither of us could think of anything.
10 Oz filet and crusted new York strip were cooked to perfection served with whipped potatoes and green beans.
Excellent food and the staff was second too none.
Excellent meal with my mother and aunt. Nice early seating in a quiet spot.
Service was rude , unprofessional and it was very loud.
Great place. Highly recommended for all occasions.
Good food for dinner as always. We love going to Stephen’s!!
It was a little loud when we got there. The staff moved us to a more private area, and the music better. The food was delicious and the staff was tremendous.
I admit growing up in the Pacific Northwest made me a bit of a salmon snob, but the Scottish Salmon at Stephen's on State was as good as I've had anywhere. Wonderful.
Overall experience was outstanding had friends dinner to celebrate everyone vaxed. 1 person had scottish salmon off regular menu and other 2 had evening special of rib-eye with cheese and onions coating all were great and we did not need any take home boxes there was nothing left. One caveat when we first arrived it was crowded so noise level was high, if your looking for quieter I would make reservation for after 8pm as crowd thins.
Great service and delicious food. Filet medium rare with Gorgonzola crust was perfectly prepared. Sides especially the creamed spinach a great complement to the filet. We’ll be back!
We had a very enjoyable experience at Stephen's on State. Our meal was delicious and our servers were courteous and attentive.
Amazing time amazing service Becky is amazing server
We went to celebrate our anniversary.
Tom our server was great he took very good care of us made sure we had everything we wanted however the food was extremely underwhelming the salmon was severely over cooked they happily remade it but the noise in the restaurant from the live band made it difficult to have a conversation so we decided to take the remade salmon home overall Tom made for a nice experience but we probably will not be back
excellent food and specials. The wait staff is terrific. just a wonderful time with great friends and wonderful food. The drinks are exceptional!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everything was excellent and will be back again
Server Joe was very good, food was average.
This was my first time visiting and it was Father’s Day. Although our waitress was nice and attentive, the kitchen service was very slow. It was so slow, that we didn’t eat any of our food at the restaurant. Of course it didn’t taste the same when having to heat it up at home.
The one taller male who looks like a model kind of kept blowing bubbles in his gum walking around which was annoying. He also brought me a straw without having it wrapped in a napkin. Needless to say, I didn’t use it.
On a plus side, I loved the fact that my Crème brûlée tasted amazing at home. Unsure if I would visit again.
Had reservations for 7 pm, we’re seated upon arrival. The service and food were good, as always.
