With its sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere, as well as its inventive spin on American cuisine, its little wonder Stephan Pyles has become a local favorite. The flash seared pork belly and the selection of ceviche make for ideal starters. Diners rave about Stephan's original Southwestern Caesar salad with jalapeno polenta croutons. Specialties include the bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin, the Nova Scotia halibut in lobster sauce and the prime bone-in cowboy ribeye with red chili onion rings. High-quality ingredients and talented chefs are Stephan Pyles' bread and butter and while entrees are sensational, desserts are equally delectable. Try the heaven & hell cake, angel food cake and devil's food cake, topped with peanut butter mousse and raspberry sorbet. The restaurant is conveniently located across the street from the arts district so it was a nice break from the galleries. We had reservations for a late lunch so there was no crowd to deal with and had the full attention of the staff. The environment was very warm and inviting with an open display kitchen located center stage. I always enjoy the activity of an open kitchen. My partner and I both had a fish dish and we were both very happy with our decision. I had their menu offering salmon which I was told is one of their more popular dishes and I completely understand why with awesome complex but light flavors. My partner had the special snapper on shrimp and grits and they were equally as good. I highly recommend this restaurant.

An outstanding Easter brunch. Stephen came by to greet the guests and we so enjoyed conversing with him. The food, as always, was exceptional. Can't wait to go back again.

Great Easter brunch menu-not too loud nor did we feel crowded next to another table...so relaxing we were there almost three hours. The fried chicken was not greasy at all-fantastic.

The restaurant has a very modern and vibrant feel, however there were very few customers for a Friday night. We started with cocktails at the bar, my wife had the Passion Chile Margarita & I had the Old Fashioned. Excellent drinks, bar staff very friendly & helpful. Oysters & pork jowl for appetizers both good, not great. Halibut (recommendation from waiter) was dry and uneventful, 22oz. bone-in-ribeye covered in four stories of onion strings (cooked perfectly to medium rare) too much seasoning for USDA Prime meat. Wines list was good and affordable, Pinot from Oregon & France did not break the bank. We have been wanting to try this restaurant for years, the build up to a James Beard nominated Chef was very dissapointing.
