About this restaurant

With its sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere, as well as its inventive spin on American cuisine, its little wonder Stephan Pyles has become a local favorite. The flash seared pork belly and the selection of ceviche make for ideal starters. Diners rave about Stephan's original Southwestern Caesar salad with jalapeno polenta croutons. Specialties include the bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin, the Nova Scotia halibut in lobster sauce and the prime bone-in cowboy ribeye with red chili onion rings. High-quality ingredients and talented chefs are Stephan Pyles' bread and butter and while entrees are sensational, desserts are equally delectable. Try the heaven & hell cake, angel food cake and devil's food cake, topped with peanut butter mousse and raspberry sorbet. While beautiful lighting pervades each corner of Stephan Pyles, try to nab a seat near the rustic brick fireplace for added ambience.

I was extremely pleased with every aspect of the experience at Stephen Pyles. The food and wine were excellent. Our server was first rate. I also was very impressed with the presentation of every dish, from the appetizer to dessert. We will definitely go back.

We were in Dallas from NY on business and found SP on the 'Best' list for Dallas Restaurants. SP did not disappoint, in graft it was one of the best meals that we ever had, anywhere. The combination of flavors and textures was simply: OUTSTANDING! We especially enjoyed the Gazpacho with shrimp ceviche and avocado ice cream. Both the salmon and chicken dishes were cooked and presented to perfection. And the deserts were unbelievable. As you can tell: we highly recommend SP and we can not wait to go back!

We visited for Restaurant Week. We did last year and enjoyed as well as this year. I don't know where to start. The menu is very creative, always taking advantage of Texas/Southwestern. It is beautifully presented like right out of the food magazine and the ingredients are fresh. Very tasty. And the service is always good from wait staff, managers checking on us to valet guys. We sat at a table that projects how kitchen looks. Sparkling clean and orderly all the time. I was impressed. Downtown Dallas is a little out of the way for us, but we should frequent more than just Restaurant Week.

We have been to Stephen Pyles several times and we think it has lost it's pizazz. The pork tamale appetizer was wonderful and the Texas Mud Pie was to-die-for. The beef short ribs - good grief !!

We went in Restaurant Week to try out the restaurant. Everything was outstanding. It certainly is one of the best restaurants in Dallas.

The service and food was just ok. We went for restaurant week and they had us out within an hour so not great timing in between so we could just enjoy being here. The noise level was not good. I could barely hear anything my boyfriend was saying.

While many restaurants participate in Restaurant Week, several that we have been to offer selections that are less than the quality listed on their regular menu. Instead of highlighting items for which they might be known, they offer cheaper meals to meet the Restaurant Week fixed prices. Stephen Pyles was a welcomed exception. We felt that across the menu we got a great sampling of the exotic food that he is known for. While these aforementioned restaurants will not see us as repeat customers, Stephan Pyles will.

We went to Stephen Pyles for restaurant week. Dinner was outstanding! Portion sizes were perfect. Loved the optional fourth course Gazpacho. My husband had the wine pairing, and he wasn't so thrilled with the selections, but everything else was awesome.
