Stella's Ratings and Reviews
Located in the corner of a small shopping center, this is a very good neighborhood restaurant. The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Italian dishes. Service is friendly and attentive but not overbearing. The veal picatta, swordfish and lobster ravioli were all excellent. Noise is a bit higher than I would like but overall this is a very pleasant place to enjoy a meal.
We had a terrible experience here. My husband son and I came to the restaurant on the later side - about 8pm and were seated immediately. A bar tender came over and asked if we wanted a drink- we all declined except water. He said he was not the waiter and he’d be over shortly. After about 10 minutes another bar tender came over and said he wasn’t the waiter but would we like a drink - we said no just waters, and he said the waiter would be over soon. The table next to us had waiters coming over and chatting with them several time’s. Then the same bar tender came back to us and said he could tell us specials even though he wasn’t the waiter. Finally about 25 minutes after we were seated the waiter came over with no apology for how long it took to come to the table. When I asked what happened he laughed and said it’s no problem. We have a process that we take drink orders first. Then with an attitude he said are you ready to order? At that point we were so annoyed waiting so long when there seemed to be so many people working there - that we decided to leave. It was very expensive, the decor was so-so. It’s in the corner of a strip mall.
The ambience was fine. There was a significant draft so I had to put my heavy jacket back on during dinner. The service was good other than the fact the server wasn't able to answer some questions about the menu (...and didn't ask the chef). The food was not innovative, but they commanded a price that rivaled some of the best restaurants in Dana Point/Laguna Beach on New Year's Eve. This was our first and only visit. Too many better options in the area.
This restaurant was horrible, they served me cold risotto and vegetables with my veal marsala.
The veal was so caked in the sauce you could not taste the veal.
My wife dish was spaghetti and meatballs and there was not sauce so the dish was dry.
Noise level is just too loud.
We will never dine here again and I plan to write a review on Trip Advisor.
Th food here is always so good, we had Caesar salads, calamari apps, spaghetti Bologna’s and the Oslo bucolic wwas to die for! The fish sea bass special was great and I’ve had the fresh wild salmon here before too. I will definitely come back again. Service was wonderful too
Stella's is THE BEST find in years. I tend to go to the same places over and over but I had a date and I wanted to make it convenient for him as well. I saw Stella's as an option and it has become our favorite place.... Ever. The owner, that I know now, Jackie, who is passionate about her restaurant has put together a staff of extraordinary people. The waiters, bartenders, but, most of all, the new chef, that take pride in their work..... and the Food. I highly recommend the Osso Bucco (one time we had it two nights in a row), the risotto and the Carpaccio to start. I can not recommend Stella's highly enough. You will not leave disappointed.
Tucked away in the corner of a shopping center, Stella's curb appeal will fool you. It's really quite nice inside with different seating areas and a warm atmosphere that one would not expect from the outside. The menu was very nice, the food prepared attentively, the service friendly and efficiently, and the live sax player delightful. All 4 in our party declared Stella's a wonderful surprise. Would definitely go back and recommend to others!
Stella's was a great surprise. Great variety of Italian food with delicious sauces. We were also surprised by the saxophone player. He really set a great mood. The staff was also very friendly. We were from out of town so we can't get there frequently but if we are back in town we would certainly get back
It is a BIG shame what happened to this restaurant since the change of ownership. BTW this was a frequented stop for my wife and I and we gave the new transition team (4) visits to assure ourselves that we were not judging on a freak bad night. The fare is school cafeteria bad. Please bring back the original recipes or find a capocuoco who knows how to cook Italian.
Went here so excited to have my FAVORITE dish. The Dragoncella. It tasted literally like basic cream sauce. No flavor. I had waited all week for this usually amazing dish...so disappointed. We never received bread, only smelled it burning on 3 occasions. Our waiter started out good, but then became pretty scarce. Our scallop appetizer was a bit fishy and lean...really a disappointment. We had another couple with us too and I was so sad to disappoint everyone after I have raved about this place.....new ownership??? Also, they usually have AMAZING lasagna, but on a Friday night it was not being offered...an Italian restaurant???
After eating a lot of resort food, Stella's was a welcomed change. Everyone there was so nice and made you feel very comfortable from the moment we arrived until the time we left. The Saxophone guy was not only good he was very entertaining to talk to All the entree's were great! If you like original Italian food and good service this is the place to eat. Do not let the shopping plaza location deter you. It is definitely worth a visit.
Under new ownership & still need to work out bugs. The 4 of us were seated on the patio after requesting a quiet area so we could chat. Soon after a table of 20 sat down adjacent to us. Some kind of family reunion & hadn't seen each other in a while. Noise level became intolerable so we asked to move. We were accommodated, however after placing our order waited 1 hour for food. Apparently the large party was severely impacting the kitchen
