Stella's Bistro - Simpsonville Ratings and Reviews
We love the local cuisine and how the community has an opportunity to not only have their products and food used but also mentioned on the giant chalkboard in the restaurant. The noise level is difficult to have conversations at your own table, but you make do. The food presentation was amazing as well as the taste. It seemed we had new or training staff as our servers, but typically the service is amazing.
The staff is very personable, as they welcome you upon arrival and when leaving, always thank you and validate that all was satisfactory. But, additionally the food is amazing and unique. I am so thankful to have such an outstanding restaurant so nearby. It is my favorite place to eat, as I know the menu is varied and delectable!
Enjoyed a delicious meal with exceptional service on our wedding anniversary. Creative cuisine. Outstanding preparation of a ribeye which was cooked to perfection. The vegetables were extraordinary.
We will frequent Stella's Bistro often.
Thank you to their entire staff for making our evening very special.
My family and husband ‘s company have been coming to Stella’s for years. We have come for Christmas Eve dinner as a tradition for numerous years. This year we came with 14 of our closet friends for New Year’s Eve dinner. Levi and Roger took exceptional care of us!!! We have gotten to know the staff quite well over the years and actually call dear friends now. Thank you guys so much for all you do to make our visit to your establishment so much fun.

We were very disappointed with our dining experience. The noise level was SO HIGH that we could not hear the others talk from across the table. It was very difficult to hear the server tell us about the special features on the menu as well. The special wine was awful, very unlike Stella's. The fish selection was very disappointing as Stella's prides themselves on having a great fresh fish selection shipped in from Charleston daily. NC Black Bass does not compare to Wreck Fish or the many other specials we have had before. One in our party did order the Black Bass and it was average. The Short Ribs and Pork Chop were very good. Due to the lack of adequate seafood selections, two in our party ordered a soup and salad. That was not what they expected to order when we made Stella's our choice for the evening. They could have had that at Olympian or Bova. That was not at all what they were expecting for a special Christmas celebration! The atmosphere and noise level was more like a happy hour experience at TGI Fridays.
We ate at Stella’s—Simpsonville as a preshow dinner with family friends. Our show started at 8pm at the Newberry Opera House and Stella’s location fit our schedule and route perfectly. Stella’s staff accommodated our party of nine and treated us all with service that was both efficient and friendly. Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere and food. The menu allowed for those with both simple and daring tastes preferences. Thank you!
I love how you can tell immediately that this is a local gem.
Walking in, we were surprised with how small the restaurant was. It was cozy and wonderfully decorated for Christmas. We were welcomed and seated in this cute semi-circle booth. On one wall was a large chalkboard listing all the farms and local businesses that the food came from that night.
The service was excellent. They are invested in their work and know that the service is just as important as the food.
Speaking of the food, um... wow. The fact that my husband said, "This is the best wedge salad I've ever had," pretty much blew my mind. And the fall bisque...mmmmm.
First time I ever had Duck and I loved it! And the mac and cheese was so comforting, like sitting at grandma's table with a fresh bowl of mac...but better.
The only thing I wasn't keen on was the dessert. We got the sweet potato pie. The filling was amazing, the meringue was scrumptious, and we loved the pecan pie-like flavor on the bottom. But the shell was thick and didn't add anything to the dish. So we just scooped out the pie and pushed the shell aside.
Overall a wonderful meal and experience and we will be coming again!
The evenings special of Snapper topped with poached shrimp on a rice cake was delicious along with the bread and wine.
The only negitive comment I might make is that towards the end of our meal I felt a bit rushed by the wait staff to pay bill and vacate table. I found this odd since I did not see anyone waiting to be seated.
We went for anniversary and food has declined , got s sangria was awful, did not drink and waiter NEVER asked if was a problem with drink, we always liked the appetizer platter got this time different items on now , wasn't half as good. I had salad only thing on it was lettuce and beets, uck, I had to stop on way home and get food to eat . Disappointed won't be back . Change menu!!
For our 44th anniversary and with an evening commitment, I chose Stella's for an anniversary lunch. The food was outstanding - Shrimp and Grits better than I have ever had and my wife loved the duck burger - and the service was prompt and friendly. We will definitely return!
As always, Stellas’s provides a wonderful experience. Smiling hostess and excellent service upon entry. I️ had the beef carpaccio and my husband had a salad and cheese board for dinner tonight. We both loooove the food. It never ceases to impress the palate. So thankful we have this little gem close to home!
Very nice Friday night dinner for 4. Service was very good. Food was pretty good but not great. The short ribs were tender but a little salty. My wife had a fish special, pink snapper which was good. Our friends both had the shrimp and grits which they enjoyed.
Service was so-so; they weren't busy, but waiter seemed rushed. Food was unimpressive - appetizer was too salty, chowder was thin - and over-priced. Wait staff in faded brown t-shirts and white aprons made you feel like the kitchen staff was waiting on you. Just overall unimpressed. Would not go back or recommend.
The best food I have had is a restaurant Snappers in a long time! Amazing. Every bite was perfect! Our server Rebecca was outstanding, knowledgeable and personable. Perfect 31 St anniversary! Really out dinners we're fantastic!!!
