The food was great, even though it was pricey. Tables very close together. Servers were very professional. At first they made me feel a bit out of place, but it ended up being ok towards the end.
Overall, really nice place. I’d go there again.
Stella was busy on a Saturday night, but we were seated quickly despite arriving late for our reservation. I was a bit hesitant about the menu - many things looked good, but for some reason I wasn't too confident. I could not have been more wrong - each dish was fantastic - I was super impressed by how well everything was prepared and how deliciously the ingredients were combined. Excellent food, good atmosphere, reasonable prices for dinner.
Four of us went for dinner and all enjoyed our meals. The salads were tasty. One person ordered the spaghetti squash bolognese. Fantastic! One had salmon and loved it and the others had pasta. Good size portions. Will return
Have been to Stella many times and enjoy the food and ambiance. However, this time things seemed very disorganized. It took a long time for our wine to come. Then we were waiting for the salad and all of a sudden two waiters appeared with the salad and the entrees. Not good. We sent the entrees back as we wanted to enjoy the salad course first. Other than that it was fine until we were waiting for our car from the valet parker. We were told it would be five minutes. After waiting 20 minutes, I went inside and one of the managers went to find our car. It finally came. We won't be rushing back.
We were seated right away in the back dining room at a corner window table. I think this dining room was alot quieter than the front one which seemed really noisy when we arrived and noisier when we left. Food was excellent. Especially loved the thinly shaved beef appetizer (forget the name of the dish). The pappardelle bolognese was excellent. Service was attentive and friendly. All in all, this restaurant is a keeper. I’d go back to try out more of the cuisine.
The very best dining experience in Boston!
I would recommend Stella for anyone !
Nice and quiet with a tasty Italian theme
Our waitress Molly seemed irritated from the first visit to our table when we didn’t know what we wanted to drink. She never returned after we received our food until our plates were cleared by the wait staff.
The place has the ambience of a dinner in a church hall with the cheap plastic chairs.
The food was good
Great food! Large (but reasonable) portions. It is very noisy and tables are tightly spaced.
Fabulous food! Highly recommend!
enjoyed very much for our anniversary food was very good and authentic italian would recommend
Very busy marathon 2018 Friday evening. Pleasant, inviting, simple decor. Lots of windows, distance between tables adequate, mirrows, lighting all lovely. Definitely, enhanced our experience. We ate at 6 p & wait staff etc seemed a bit frantic. Not too much talking even when asked specific questions.
Caesar salad was recommended & I felt uninspired. Pastas were cooked al dente to perfection, one served w bolognese sauce and one w chicken. The bread did not speak to our preferences though I would expect some tonreappy enjoy. Would recommend a visit.
excellent service with spectacular meal.
Excellent as always
Delicious. Great brunch. Ask for the fried artichoke hearts...
Birthday dinner!
Restaurant was packed and loud on a Saturday night, but option of more private made it a non issue. Excellent food!
Dinner was as delicious as always! The food was spaced out so nicely and we didn’t feel rushed to leave. The waiter was so helpful. We had a great time!
It is really loud there, and it’s busy, between the waiter/waitresses walking by and the people.
My husband has a bad hip and the manager was very accommodating with getting us a seating arrangement where we could be comfortable and enjoy the evening. Drinks were excellent as was the food. Eclectic and delicious. Place IS noisy though, so don't plan on a quiet evening of conversation. Nice atmosphere and would definitely come back and recommend to anyone. Lots of restaurants in Boston. This was one of the best. Kudos to the owners and managers.
Our favorite go-to restaurant in Boston, Stella is always a first-rate dining experience. Ovi is our favorite waiter, but all the people there are invariably welcoming and helpful. First rate wine, not over the top prices, and first rate cocktails. We have tried various appetizers and entrees and have yet to be disappointed. My own regular choice is spaghetti pomodoro with meatballs. No one else comes close to their version of it.
Delicious dinner in a beautiful setting with friendly service!!
Everything was good - but the noise level was so high that the waiter got one of our drink orders wrong. The food was excellent and piping hot - not always the case at restaurants these days. The Apple Crostata dessert was superb.
The staff was fast and attentive. Being a chef I look for hot plates and the plates were hot as was the food. Simple menu some basic Italian dishes. My pasta was cooked perfect and the sauce was delicious. From the cold station beet salad came out on refrigerated with beautiful ice cold red and yellow beets and goat cheese. Love it here
Always great
Great food, ambiance, and service! And Ovi is the best waiter in the city!!!
Great place, everything in its right proportions. Excellent food, great wine, they have a great spanish beer.
It is a little uncomfortable to walk through the reataurant to the restrooms, everything else was very very good.
Restaurant was too loud. Large groups should not be placed in the middle of a busy dining room.
The food was great but our waiter was not. He was not attentive, impatient, perfunctory and honestly, if this were my first visit I’d never return!
He didn’t introduce himself, he didn’t write down my allergies, etc. We definitely will not be back in the near term.
Tameka
They did not have our reservation. Therefore our table preference was not noted or available. Service in back room next to back door was not good with many people breezing by, our waiter had to be asked to fill water although salads arrived 30 seconds after ordered. FOOD is always excellent. Not a fan of the Back room
Great food! And really good service right in the south end
Love love love! This is a great restaurant. They have a delicious, reasonably-priced brunch menu, and the staff is extremely welcoming.
We went with another couple. All of us loved our meals. Braised rib gnocchi was fabulous, as was the seafood risotto. The Caesar salad was another winner.
The service at Stella’s is consistent and excellent
Food was great as was the service. The 4 of us all really enjoyed everything. A stand out was the beef carpaccio. We'll be back!
Food delish
Great date spot, delicious cocktails, great food, and affordable. Can feel a bit cramped, but good atmosphere
Really delicious food, reasonable priced, fun atmosphere.
Food always wonderful. Same with service. Absolutely love the bolognase. Issues that are negative. .. seems like they crammed more tables in that when anyone passes by (waiter, hostess seating diners) you get bumped. It's winter and have coat on back of chair. Just not comfortable. We'd still go back but hopefully next time they spread tables back out.
Seafood dish was great! Also had wonderful pasta dishes. I will definitely go back to this restaurant. The restaurant and bar were hopping so the noise was a bit loud but I liked the atmosphere.
Fabulous cocktails and a fresh, modern take on some traditional Italian meals. The Stella 75 cocktail was on-point and refreshing. Appetizers included the arancini, sausage, and Caesar salad which the staff were kind of enough to split amongst the two of us when presenting at the table. Sicilian swordfish was cooked perfectly as our main course. I look forward to many more return visits to Stella!
