About Stella Modern Italian Cuisine
Stella Modern Italian Cuisine specializes in fresh seasonal menus featuring local and organic ingredients when possible. The wood burning oven is the heart of the restaurant, producing Roman style pizza and the majority of the menu. Our culinary team led by Executive Chef Melissa Aust has created a modern menu using ideas that begin with traditional Italian dishes. The wine list is an interesting group of Italian and American wines personally selected by owner/operator Lori Burson.

Stella Modern Italian Cuisine Ratings and Reviews
The wine list was not easy to read and pick selection. It is easier when list by type of wine- not by price. We need to first select the type of wine then we can easily choose price from there. It was s bit loud for us but not due to the music which was fine, the acoustic in there made casual talking pretty loud. Not sure how you can change that. Neither of these reasons will keep us from returning! The service was very nice. We loved our food!
We enjoyed a late Saturday brunch. The service was impeccable. The food was very good. And at the end, the waiter brought a dessert with Happy Birthday written in chocolate on the plate. Lovely and tasty! If there was any disappointment it was the salmon avocado toast -- it was good, but not great. The salmon was a bit dry, as it was undressed, which would have been fine if the avocado had been dressed. The avocado was simply four thin slices atop the salmon. The accompanying salad was delightful -- fresh and light.
Stella’s is awesome!! The atmosphere, food and service are second to none. Lori Burson has crafted a dining experience that is top notch. The entire staff at Stella’s (food, bar, wait staff) make you feel like your home. They make you want to keep coming back. And I do!! Lori and Stella’ ROCK!!!
We were pleasantly surprised with the ambience and service. It was definitely not your typical, standard Italian restaurant. In a lively, popular neighborhood with other eating and entertainment venues offered. The food was very good and presented well. Would definitely go back.
This place positions itself as a fairly upscale place for OKC and, as a result, there are fairly high expectations. The wine list is impressive. But it stops there. Our server was unable to tell us the anything about the wines on the wine list. Nor was he able to get help from anyone in the restaurant. And this was a Saturday night when they should have had their best foot forward. The champagne we ordered before the meal was served in a white wine glass, not a champagne flute. The bold red we ordered with dinner also served in a white wine glass. For a place with such an impressive wine list, the lack of different stem wear and lack of knowledge is remarkable. I know I sound like a wine snob - I promise I am not. But if you are going to have some bottle that range over $100 you should provide the service that goes along with that price point. As for the food - very average. The artisan cheese plate was not very imaginative and the server did not tells us what cheeses were presented. The noodles in my pasta dish were undercooked and very doughy. This places has a wonderful atmosphere in a swanky part of town and has tons of potential, but it seriously under-delivers for the price point.
We go to Stella every time we go to a play at the Civic Center.
Great location, excellent food, perfect service. Our waitress was a charming woman, who loves musical theater and engaged with us without being intrusive. The food is delicious, we love the charcuterie (they make their own pate) and pasta.
Greeted at the front entry by management and or owner. Seated promptly, with great table service by Brian commencing right away. Menu items explained, and we enjoyed the Veal Shank entree, sharing the ample portion between the two of us. Brian suggested their trademark "candy bar" dessert. Again, it was perfect for sharing and not a morsel was left behind. We will remember the evening fondly, and look forward to returning.
