Stella Blu - Conshohocken Ratings and Reviews
Have the special of the day and it was wonderful. My friend had the scallops and her meal was wonderful too. Our service was great and actually took the waiters recommendations for the meal. I will be going back. This was a 5 star meal
Stella Blu is my go to restaurant for client lunches in Conshohocken. The menu is creative Italian mixed in with regular fare like burgers, etc., all delivered tastefully using fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is low key and there is no rush to turn over tables. Our table ordered the grilled peach salad with grilled chicken and the tuna and white bean arugula based salad. These were sized perfectly for lunch. Our fourth guest opted for the chopped salad which came in a Cobb like presentation that was enough for dinner. Staff is friendly and eager to please. Would have assigned 4 stars for service if staff had been a bit more urgent about taking our orders.
We come to Philadelphia often as our daughter is a student athlete. G
Close friends in the are recommended Stella Blu and we often stop there. Our dinner Saturday night was excellent. The service was attentive and the owner apologized for the delay (due to a power outage at their sister restaurant.
We changed our reservation to Stella Blu after a recommendation from someone at the Marriott. Well, we quickly regretted that. While the intention of all those at Stella Blu were good, the entire experience was unfortunate. We showed up 5 minutes early and they told us our table was finished up dessert and said we could get a drink at the bar. We ended up waiting 25+ minutes to get seated. Once seated, the service was very slow. They gave us complimentary champaign for our wait which was a great gesture. However, it took over an hour to just get bread on our table. When we finally did order, it still took forever to get our food, orders we're wrong and honestly, the food was subpar. The entire experience took from 7:40-10pm. It was restaurant week, so I get being busy but by the time we were eating, no one else was there and it still was slow. Plus, they weren't really able to accommodate dietary restrictions too well. It definitely was not worth the price.
Have eaten here a handful of times over many years and have never been disappointed. Our food was simple. fresh and delicious. I had the fried artichoke app and the crabmeat over angel hair and it was fresh and lite. My husband had the lamb chops and the caesar salad with chicken and ate every bite. My son had the spaghetti with meatballs and loved it. Excellent Conshy mainstay and will continue to come back !
Our table was great - not too noisy. Bar service was slow - despite the fact that the restaurant was not busy as it was early. Food was excellent except for my chicken which was overcooked. Service was very good and not intrusive. We all like it and will come again.
Disappointed in our evening. Been there a few times and enjoyed the food and service, but this time was different. Had reservations and called in the afternoon to see if they could do something to help us celebrate our mother's 98th birthday. Answer was no, they didn't do anything like that. Reallly...for a 98th bday?? Just a candle in a dessert?
Arrived at the restaurant with my mother who has some difficulty walking. Held her arm across the street and up the ramp into the restaurant. Waiter was standing right inside the door but did not even open the door for us. Manners??
Ordered drinks and it took quite a while for them to be delivered to our table...the restaurant was not crowded...only three other tables were being served.
Dinner was ok; my chicken was dry.
We all agreed that the waiter had an attitude and wasn't friendly. Was he doing us a favor by serving us?
Don't think we'll be returning to Stella Blu!
A delicious dinner in a nearby "haunt". If you are staying across the street at the Marriott, look no further than across the street for some delicious fare at good prices with really good service. Our meals arrived hot and steamy with an abundance of flavor. the restaurant didn't over price its delicious wines that are fine complements to delicious dishes. In a word, YUM. I will try to visit at least once a trip when I'm in Conshohocken.
Drinks were great in this small bar-restaurant, but it was downhill from there. The fried artichokes used canned artichoke hearts. The grilled calamari was so tough it remained on the plate, and no one asked why. And yes, the downhill slide continued. The $26 Caesar Salad with grilled Salmon ($10 for the salad and a whopping $16 for about 3 ounces of salmon) was tiny. The chicken and sausage had a tiny bit of sausage and the toughest chicken imaginable. Again, most of it stayed on the plate with no questions from the servers. Will not be back.
Delicious summer menu, we enjoyed the clams and pasta, lobster too. Attentive thoughtful staff. Fresh ingredients, all dishes demonstrate attention to detail. Great cocktails & wine list.
Cozy atmosphere, Philly vibe without having to drive into center city, overall, YUM!
The food and service was very good. It started out as a great area for conversation but then a large, very loud group came in and was seated behind us. It was difficult to hear one another. The group did not seem to care that there were other paying customers. Hostess made apologies on at least two occasions.
We moved from the area and now eat at Stella Blu when we are in town and staying at the Marriott. I'd walk a lot further than across the street for the outstanding food and service in a cozy neighborhood Italian restaurant. I had the pasta with crab and garlic/lemon olive oil, and my husband had the breaded scallops and both were delicious. Only complaint - no room for dessert! The service is not intrusive, well timed and the staff always make us leave with a smile.
Dined on a Wednesday night. The restaurant was very busy. Had fried artichoke appetizer which was delicious as usual. For our main course we ordered two dishes that we never ordered before. (1) The mushroom ravioli with sage butter sauce and balsamic vinegar had too much balsamic vinegar and little taste of sage. Otherwise the cheese ravioli tasted home made and was topped with lots of sautéed mushrooms. I expected mushrooms in the ravioli filling . (2) The chicken in the chicken piccata was not tenderized ( pounded flat) and was a little dry. The lemon caper sauce on the pasta and chicken tasted like bottled lemon juice was used in the recipe rather than fresh lemon. This gave the dish a strange taste. Usually you find a lemon seed or two when the restaurant uses real lemons. We would not order the mushroom ravioli or the chicken piccata meals again. Would order meatballs and spaghetti which are always very delicious. Had limoncello cake and black coffee for dessert. Both cake and coffee are excellent .
