Pizzeria
Stella Barra’s artisanal pizzas are made with fresh, sustainable ingredients from local farmers markets. The ever-changing seasonal menu features Chef Jeff Mahin’s handcrafted pizzas topped with housemade ingredients alongside a selection of market-driven small plates, salads and sandwiches. The rustic yet modern dining room features a rectangular bar serving artful cocktails, as well as a diverse list of Italian wines.

Pizza toppings range from prosciutto and egg to shaved mushroom to smoked bacon and can be served on a lighter “Thin Sin” pizza crust, or even gluten-free dough. Handcrafted breakfast items, fresh pastries and a selection of breads are available for carryout from the Market counter.

My two girlfriends and I went for dinner before a show at the Pantages and the starter and salad came out VERY quickly, were delicious, and our waiter was very attentive! The butternut squash pizza was EXTREMELY DELICIOUS. We got a bottle of wine, two pizzas, a salad, the meatballs and a cookie for under $100! I will ABSOLUTELY return before every show I see!

Always enjoy the food, service, and atmosphere. Go there a couple of times monthly before a movie usually.

It was amazing food and the staff was very kind. The food did take a excessively long time to be given to us, but I think I would go back just to get another peanut butter cookie. We went on a day where it was not busy at all, no crowds at all whatsoever and it just seemed to take forever. Maybe it was just a bad day for the kitchen.

I normally love this restaurant but my experience last weekend was not very good. The food was still amazing, but the service was poor. The waiter wore a t-shirt that said something to the effect of "I was bored before I even got here" and it showed in his work. He brought the wrong pizza (didn't take the order correctly), brought a second beer that was not the same one (requested beer), and the delay between pizzas was significant. There were 3 of us and the second pizza was eight minutes after the first, the third pizza was 22 minutes after the first (I was done by the time my wife got her pizza). He blamed that on the kitchen but I suspect he messed up the order based on how so many other things were wrong. I will still go back because the food is so good and the location is great, but I was very disappointed with this visit.

Had reservations however waited over 40 minutes. Apparently the table for 6 we were waiting on had been there for 2 hours. Check was paid but guests wouldn’t leave. We ended up sitting in the bar area. Glad we found a spot for 6. It would of been nice if they would have told table another party was waiting. Otherwise food was very good.

Good for people watching and easy crowd pleasing plates but not stellar quality. Waiters seemed jaded and indifferent. If they had a wood fired oven the pizza would taste a whole lot better.

The weekend nighttime vibe was really nice. Everyone was polite and attentive. The food was delicious. Try the Creamy Organic Tomato Bisque (flavor is on point) and the Crispy Calamari (didn’t taste frozen or oily) for apps. For pizza I’ve tried Shaved Mushroom (I order this every time I come here) and Prosciutto & Egg (its bomb).

Pizza had too much onions on it. We ordered the most basic pizza and it wasn’t great. Crust is amazing though, just leave out the onions.

My sister referred me to this place and it was perfect for our needs. Two hour parking for $3 below with validation. We only had salad and pizzas, which were really excellent. The restaurant has a nice feel to it and it got very busy before we left. Corner property makes it a little easier to find street parking if you get there at the right time. Service was excellent! We will definitely return.

I enjoyed the tomato bisque and white sauce mushroom pizza with my boyfriend when we visited! We came sort of late, at 9 PM, but there was still plenty of room so I don't think you would have to make a reservation if you came in at this time. Reasonable price for the food / portions, love the ambiance. Took a while to get seated because there was only one waiter who was working at the cafe so she had to finish up her stuff before helping us, which took a few minutes.

Food was good. Our waiter was nice and was able to answer our questions. I think our waiter was trying to man a lot of tables. I have found that normally the wait staff gets assigned too many tables so as it gets busy it is more difficult to get help or be checked on. The last time we were here 2 months ago our waitress was too busy and we wanted to order dessert but then she just dropped off the check and hustled on her way so we didn’t get any dessert. It was pretty noisy in the restaurant for a smaller sized place. I like this place a lot but wish they would hire more wait staff so it’s not so hectic.

I am a regular at Stella Barra — it is THE PERFECT place to meet a friend before or after seeing a movie at the Arclight next door. Their pizzas are delicious — especially the crust and any pizza with fresh fennel on it. The house-made burrata cheese is heavenly and their craft cocktails are out of this world — that said, I only ever get the HONEY BADGER cocktail, which they’ve renamed to the mo’ better something (their only bad idea was changing the name of this legendary cocktail!)

They retired the Sunday brunch menu and replaced it with the dinner menu. This was an affordable place for an appetizer and drinks before a movie but what we usually got was now over 3 figures. What happened to the Detroit pizzas? They were great but off the menu. So is the early happy hour. Will look fo a new place to eat.

$16 for a burnt pizza that wasn’t comparable to even a good frozen pizza, service wasn’t very good, and there was a wierd and fairly loud soundtrack of mid 2000s pop - save yourself $30 and buy a j, go to Lil Caesers and watch Netflix instead

This was our second visit and the food was still great. My husband is a Neopolitan pizza snob and he loves their pizza! I was actually bummed that they weren't offering the Focaccia pizza. Only issue is that our waitress seemed to be returning after a long hiatus and wasn't sure about some recent changes. One recent change is the Happy Hour that used to be from 11 am - 6pm on Saturday/Sunday, but now is only 3p-6pm. Bummer.

The pizza was, as always, FANTASTIC on our last visit ... but we were so disappointed to find our two favorite salads -- the caesar and the kale salad (with dates and slivered almonds) OFF the menu! We tried the new kale caesar -- it was just a lot of chopped kale, heavily dressed with a very oily and very fishy dressing. Ugh! Please bring back our favorites!
