Our waiter, James, was excellent. One of the steaks was overdone but they got another one out right away that was perfect. James suggested a new wine and it was amazing.
We enjoyed the food and restaurant. Waiter was great!
The food was great, but we were there for 3 hours, half of that waiting for our server. It was a Saturday night, but our reservation was for 6 pm.
The kitchen seemed responsible for our long wait. There were 3 of us, and all of our steaks were mixed up and were on the wrong plates. (we had to send a well done filet back, because it should have been med rare!). We waited a long time for our cocktails and at least a 30 min wait for our 2nd, after we ordered it. The manager came by our table, apologized for the steak mixup. Our server said the manager offered a complimentary dessert. Turned out it was one dessert for the three of us. Really?? That was the apology???
They should have comped a steak!
Excellent food, service and venue
I am from out of town. I had never eaten at Steiner Steakhouse until almost a week ago. Everything was made so easy to reserve a table and to how we were welcomed when we arrived. From the time we walked through the front door until the time we left everyone made us feel like we were in our neighborhood.
Our server was Katy. She was super pleasant, smiling, upbeat and made great recommendations for drink and food! The food was great, but Katy's service was beyond EXCELLENCE! The entire staff was pleasant and seemed to be always smiling. It was like eating at one of my neighborhood places. I will always come back.
Thank you for a wonderful time and eating experience!
Wonderful service and fantastic food!
Very pleasant!!Thank you!
Kendall was our server. He was great. A bit disappointed with the food. It was not fresh when we went through. It seemed it had been sitting out for a while. Bagels were listed on your website. There were none. Roast beef was tough or over cooked. The fish was dried out.
I loved it as I did the three times before when I went to eat brunch!!!!
Our food was ice cold. The band was great and great atmosphere. Maybe will go back for drinks only
I wanted to like this place. We live nearby, and decided to come for our anniversary. I don't know what the point of telling them about our anniversary was though (OpenTable asked for this information), because no one mentioned it while we were there, or congratulated us.
It must have been a very busy night. The woman behind the host desk was clearly busy, and she treated us more like a number than people. We were 20 minutes early and she said our table wouldn't be ready until our reservation time. What she said was fine, but the way she said it wasn't.
We were seated at our table. I counted 10 empty, clean tables nearby. Not sure what the downstairs holdup was. We proceeded to wait between 5 and 10 minutes for a polite but out-of-breath waiter to appear. That's a long time to go without water. He apologized and said he was bartending and waiting tables that night. He politely explained the menu and specials. He really knew a lot about meat which I appreciated. Unfortunately the pattern of him leaving and being gone forever continued throughout the meal. We hardly saw the waiter. At one point the bus boy started refilling our water since it had been so long since the waiter was there.
The food was good. Not amazing, but good. The steak was great, but the sides looked and tasted like after-thoughts. The service is what stung. I don't blame the waiter per say, because I think he was doing the best he could, but it was not the $167 experience that we paid for.
We used the valet and had a great experience with that.
Nice steakhouse, a bit pricey for everything but overall good.
It was a very good dinner for out 25th wedding anniversary.
Sadly disappointing food. Salmon was over cooked, sauce on the salmon was pure salt, and the shrimp on top were over cooked to rubber. The green bean side was good but the tomato orzo (that we were told was a creamy risotto) tasted like canned spaghetti O’s. We went for the chicken fried lobster, which did not disappoint, that was delicious. We should have walked away after the appetizers.
Dinner was wonderful as usual. Our server was great. It was a very busy night and the restaurant was loud, but calmed down after a few tables left.
Truly a spectacular view and amazing menu. The best steak we have ever enjoyed. Our waiter was perfect, great personality along with knowledge of the menu and area. He made the rainy day that ruined our sundown view worth the few hundred we spent on one meal. We plan to return soon.
Impeccable service. Every attention to detail was paid. I already want to go back. Absolutely amazing in every aspect.
Have been here several times, but this time we had a very nice waitress (Jessica)...she was very attentive and personable!
We've lived in the area for 30 years but had never eaten there. We went for my birthday. I had the "small" prime rib and it was outstanding - done just right, quite large, and with a good horseradish sauce. Mashed potatoes were good but green beans were greasy, and she-crab soup was just a potato soup with a few shreds of crab and no seafood taste at all. Service was excellent. Wine was too.
Filet mignon was excellent! Amazing views. We were there for our anniversary and plan to come back for happy hour on the patio.
Love everything about this restaurant. Be prepared to spend quite a bit though.
enjoyed the food and the service remarkable. I plan on going again when the dining outside is open.
Reservation at 745,did not get us seated till 850 or later
As always had a great meal, food superb and waiter good. Unfortunately there was a couple there with a newborn and when the expected crying started, did not make for a good experience. I would think, or hope, anyone dining here would understand that bringing a baby to a 5 star restaurant is not what one would expect, or want. They did eventually take the baby out and it was near the end of our meal. I know that Austin is know for it's 'kid/family friendly' but sometimes it is a bit much. We have dined here numerous times and this was the first, and hopefully the last. All in all, great place, very close to home and beautiful sunsets!
Me and my wife really enjoyed the food. I had the prime rid and she had the fillet mignon. It was excellent. The view of the sunset was fantastic.
awesome place! I would go back to this place a million times again!
I have been to Steiner Steakhouse 4 times now since moving to the area and it is hands down the best steak I have ever had. Will continue to hit it up and find excuses to go throughout the year.
my wife and I recently visited Austin for a 4 day fun trip. We rented a suite at a villa on Lake Travis and one of the owners recommended Steiner as a great place for one of our nights out while in town. He was very certainly right!!
The hostess was friendly and very informative when we asked numerous questions about the Steiner family and all the photos in the foyer. Looks like a blessed family with plenty of wonderful memories She also got us a table with a great view!
Our server, Anthony was right on time with
Our drinks-salads-hot bread-and meal. His menu suggestions were as perfect as our STEAKS!! Anthony was
Very attentive , knowledgeable, friendly and made sure our visit to Steiner Steakhouse was worth the trip.
He also helped me when I asked to buy a set of your steak knives.
1st time there we were in town from Houston. It did not disappoint! Was great food, great service, Prime beef steaks and awesome patio/deck/bar area as well. We will be coming back
Food was excellent. Ambiance was worse than usual here with our table next to upstairs bar and slightly cold. Service was solid other than greeter at front being overwhelmed and not attentive enough. We had reservations for 9 and arrived 5 minutes early and were not seated until almost 9:30. When I requested the status of our table at 9:15 I was looked at like I was asking something unreasonable then I was ignored . This is an isolated case At this restaurant and they shouldnt be dinged , but management should work on their hiring process. The receptionist was clearly incompetent.
I was thoroughly impressed with the setting and the food. Our waiter Christopher was exceptional and I will go back. If you like authentic country western music and settings you won’t beat Steiner Ranch!
We had a reservation for 7:15 and even got there a little early, ended up being seated past 8:00 while we watched older couples who got there later than us be seated before us. I walked up and checked on “our table” and was told “it will just be a few minutes.” This was at 7:30, after about thirty minutes of waiting. Just because we are young, we were put behind and our reservation was ignored. Horrible service and would have ruined the night if the food wasn’t so good. I would never recommend this to a friend because they would be treated like children. I left a tip that was definitely bigger than I should have because I’m nice and our waiter was nice but waiting over an hour to get seated while we had a reservation was absolutely horrible. Never risking my time like this again
Great steaks! However my server was not the best. He had an attitude and did not bring my salad. I would go back but would want a different server.
Steiner Ranch was recommended to us...great dinner, great ambience and amazing sunset. We were on the second floor and loved it. I recommend using their sommelier if you are a wine drinker, they will help you pair you meals accordingly, very big wine list.
We chose to upgrade our steak to the highly recommended triple A rated beef. With a cost of #100 per meal, (beverage not included). The results were HUGELY DISAPPOINTING . The steaks were soo bad parts were completely inedible. We discussed are concerns with the manager and he simply thank us for our feedback, no offer to compensate. After paying the 350 bill we left and WILL NOT be back
I’m not sure if our waiter was having a bad night, or the bar was not cooperating with her. Wife’s first drink order took about 10 minuets to learn they were out of ingredients to make the drink. Ordered her second choice and that took well over 20 minutes to get. Manager did comp. that one drink, how generous. Waiter was not attentive enough to keep up with drink levels of the table.
Service and ambiance was excellent. Had the Chateaubriand and requested medium rare, which was done perfectly. However, the quality of the meat was very below average for such an expensive meal ($120 for two). The flavor was ok, but the texture was mushy (or chalky). I would not get this cut again, but would consider going back and trying something else. However, a 2nd bad experience would be it for me.
Our valentine's dinner was perfect. The Wagyu filets were done as ordered. Fantastic evening.
Great steaks, apps, salads and cocktails. Service was wonderful. Waiter even turned the air down for me which I appreciated. We have only been for brunch in the past but will now be going back for dinner!
