PLEASE NOTE: FOR WEEKDAY LUNCH RESERVATIONS, STEEL & RYE OFFERS COUNTER SERVICE FROM OUR BAKERY BETWEEN 7:00 A.M. AND 4:00PM (Mondays until 2:30pm).

All reservations after 4pm for Dinner will be provided full table service and are for inside tables only. Outside parking lot tables are currently first come, first served and orders may be placed via QR code.

This year we’ve made some big changes at Steel & Rye! Our former private dining area is now home to our new bakery kitchen. We have loved hosting private events in the past, however no longer have a private space to offer. At this time, we are pleased to offer regular dining reservations for groups of up to 18 guests. Please call our main line at 617-690-2787 and speak with one of our managers or email us at contact@steelandrye.com to make a reservation for parties between 12-18 guests.

Service was very slow. Took a long time to get the check but overall food was good , latte was delicious!! Will go again

This was my first time coming here, brought my girlfriend with me. We enjoyed ourselves. Our server Mikey G I believe, genuinely took care of us. Already told the mates about the place. Coming back soon.

Our server was excellent. The one thing that really put a damper on the evening was how intoxicated the table next to us was. They had to have been over served given how obnoxious they were being.

We started off with delicious classic margaritas on the rocks, which had a great real lime taste; and craft beers. Our dinners were outstanding: octopus with fusilli, wagu burger with fries, and 2 of us split an order of steak frites which is our favorite ! The staff was attentive and helpful. The ambience was great and we even got an infrequent smell of the wood fired oven . We would recommend it highly to everyone.

Miss the bread and butter. Brussel sprouts had an odd flavor that neither of us liked. Spinach gnudi were too large and I had had them before and loved them. Pineapple soda used to be served with a garnish and now seems simplified and not the same quality drink I had had in the past. Horrible smoke from the wood fired grill, my friend had to leave because she could not stop coughing. Used to be my favorite restaurant. Very disappointing.

I will share your feedback with our Chefs, bartender, and managers so we can take a look at each of the issues and work to improve. We do still have our amazing bread and butter, so that will not be leaving the menu! I'd also love to put a note on your file to seat you away from the wood fire oven in the future. Was a busy Sunday there, our waitress was never around and took so long to get our pricey mimosas. The avocado toast has sliced avocados which i thought was strange but still good. An extra $2 per egg, seems like so much but this is what restaurants are doing now. The sour dough bread is phenomenal but also expensive, the cookies were delicious along with the coffee cake would go back but know its not cheap and service is slow
