   The staff was excellent! The salmon fritters were a bit salty and the Ceasar salad dressing was a bit bland. Other than that, it was a nice experience and the staff was so friendly and kind I would go back.

   I would consider myself a frequent customer at Steel & Rye and overall this is a very good restaurant. Yesterday I will say was an anomaly. Someone in the kitchen had a very heavy hand on the salt. I ordered the Salmon Fritters and had to send it back. tasted like a salt ball. In addition, I ordered a second drink that never came and finally told the waitress to forget it. If you are reading this, please know this isn't the norm and more feedback for the management. I will be back.

   Great, relaxed service. We sat outside at the first come first serve tables and had a drink, and then we went inside to our reserved table. Everyone was friendly and the food was delicious. We even brought our own cake for my husband‘s birthday and they were very accommodating in bringing it with a candle and cutting it for us. Highly recommend!

   It would have been helpful if the server had informed us that when you order a pizza and a burger they come from separate kitchens. She didn’t let us know and my boyfriend had finished his burger (so it wouldn’t get cold) before my pizza arrived. That is after he had to send it back because they made his first burger incorrectly.

   The food was great. Crab deviled eggs, Arugala citrus salad and Mushroom pizza with Kale were all unique and delicious. Gretchen was excellent, providing informative, attentive and unhurried service. Many menu items to choose from, and all with flair. This was the kind of relaxing experience we were looking for to end the day. We will be back.

   This was the 1st time we've dined at Steel & Rye since the onset of the pandemic in 2019, and it may have been even longer than that. Our previous experience was very average at best so we did not return. However, I was looking for a dinner reservation to take my wife for an early celebration of Mothers Day and theirs was the only nearby place that could accommodate us. Well, were we ever pleasantly surprised! The menu selections were all very tempting. I opted for the Chicken-fried Mushrooms appetizer and the Fried Chicken dinner entree. I server was very attentive to our needs. My two girls ordered wine by the glass, which was very nice but on the pricey side ($13-15) compared to other area restaurants. I do not drink alcohol, but I asked our server to please keep my water glass full because I had a quite vigorous workout earlier in the day for well over 60 minutes. She left an ice cold carafe on our table and quickly refilled it before it ran dry. The restaurant was quite busy while we dined, so my kudos to her for managing multiple tables simultaneously while catering to the whims of my table. Great job! :) The appetizer was made from oyster mushrooms, which I'd never had before but my daughter, who's a pescaterian informed me there are a "very hearty variety" worthy of a meat substitute. Wowza! She was right. My only complaint. I had to share with both my girls, whcih left less for me. haha! I really didn't mind at all. Then the dinner entree: WOWZA! Our server told me it was a very filling dinner/comfort-food and she was right on. It was a crispy deep-fried chicken breast, flavorfully breaded and served over mashed potatoes and fried kale. I usually hate kale, mostly because it's so freaking popular now. People put it ion everything and served raw it has kind of a bitter after taste. Give me iceberg lettuce any day: See? I have a very unsophisticated palate but know exactly wht I LIKE! This was DELICIOUS: I finished every bite! WE SHALL RETURN!!!

    I am not sure if it was a one off day for them but I definitely was very disappointed with the food quality. Lamb fussili was cold. The pasta was undercooked and didn’t really fit well with the lamb… The risotto was somehow better but cold as well. The mushroom pizza gets barely a pass… atmosphere was nice and staff was pleasant. Definitely not the restaurant I remembered a couple of years ago.

    Amazing meal. The menu has expanded again post covid, and it’s great to have that wider selection back. The chicken liver mousse is the best you will ever have. The cassoulet was excellent. The cocktails here never disappoint. Steel & Rye is back, and perhaps, is better than ever!

    Waited 30 minutes for our table even though we made a reservation. Watched 5 couples that came in after us get seated before us. Finally sat down and the menu was completely different from what was online. Ended up leaving.

    Stopped in for an early dinner before a show in Boston. There was a great vibe with a lot of good energy ( but not loud). Waiter was attentive and fantastic. Thefood was fresh and delicious. Great spring salads. Fabulous cocktails. Pizza, pork milenese & pasta. Food runner was very kind and friendly. Cookies TOGO. So happy with my choice to have food before going into Boston instead of trying to have dinner in Boston

    We had a great date night here... the food was superb, nice raw bar selection, delicious pizza and scrumptious dessert, all fresh ingredients and the drinks absolutely awesome. Very interesting place! Our server Melissa was excellent, great personality and friendly. The rest of the restaurant staff was also great. Even though it was super busy on a Friday night, everyone was welcoming. Thank you for making our night pleasant and memorable.

    The decor was awesome. Our server (I forgot her name) was very attentive and knew the menu very well. The food was incredible, we had a variety of the apps and the sausage and onion pizza was my favorite. They also make great cocktails.

    We liked Steel and Rye. The way they treated/built out the space of the old building is very well done. A lot of interesting things wherever you look... open spaces, cool and funky signs and treatments. The space is large and it can get loud, especially main the dining area. We went early on a Saturday night and there were a lot of kids, which made it super loud... so we opted for a hightop in the bar area, which was much more comfortable. I guess later in the evening the kids will have departed, but keep that in mind. Service was excellent, they have a great attitude. The chow is interesting and well executed. We tried the homemade chips w/dip, the meatballs (chicken and pork), and a pepperoni pizza.... all very good. The cheesecake for dessert was just ok. Drinks are well made and nice beer selection. There's a lot to like here, great energy and a fun place with nice chow. I can see why it's always busy. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

    We enjoyed a very creative meal at a comfortable pace. The food and presentation was creative and flavorful. The "roasted cheesecake" dessert is a real gem consisting of a cylindrical cheesecake with a caramelized disk crust base and with sides leading up to contain a dice of tart, citrusy fruit reminiscent of the caldera of a dormant volcano. A very nice selection of craft beers. However, it would be nice if the wine list included one or two choices below the fifty-dollar range. Given that the restaurant prepares some creative pizzas, it would be nice to have the option of a humble California zinfandel or Italian montepulciano. Parking is somewhat difficult given the small parking lot reduced by an ad-hoc outdoor dining area a la pandemic. There is nearby on-street parking on the adjacent residential side streets if you can figure out where to look. It will be fun to return and check out some of the other menu choices.

    The restaurant delivers consistently with high quality food & service. Our waitress was delightful. Funny & engaging with extensive knowledge of the menu (on only her second day of work), Melissa made our dining experience so much more than it otherwise would have been. Kudos to the S&R management team for continuing to navigate the service industry at such a high level.

    This was the worst service I’ve ever had at Steel and it wasn’t even busy. It took around 7 minutes for our waiter to come take our order, and then another 15 min after that to get our drinks (wine and a soda). Probably 10-15 min later my pizza came out, but my fiancée’s meal and our shared chips/dip arrived 5 min afterwards. And to top it all off, our waiter ended his shift while we were eating; no notice or no telling us someone would take over for him; he just changed his clothes and ate his meal next to the bar. I left a bad tip, but the service was worse than the bare minimum; and didn’t deserve anything more.

    Horrible service, not many options for food. My coffee was served in a cup that hadn’t been cleaned with clear stains and floating food in it. There was only one blueberry muffin and no other options. There was also not an option for sugar free syrup. The waitress served us eggs over easy when we asked for a fried egg. My party and I were very disappointed. An $80 bill for poor service and dining experience. I will not be back nor recommend this establishment to anyone

    We arrived 15 minutes early and tried to get a drink at the bar. The bartender took my order and then completely ignored me while serving other people at the bar. I gave up after 10 minutes. Food came out quickly but was average at best. Totally overpriced. Would not go back.
