Steamer's Grillhouse

Well, I always have a good experience there but they are closed for the duration of our shelter in place mandate so I’m wondering why Open Table acts otherwise.

Fabulous Friday fish dinner.

Outstanding food, portion size, service, facility and value. I can't believe I've never been here! So great!

This was my first. When there to celebrate my father-in-law's 85th birthday. Got there a little early so we can have a cocktail at the bar before sitting down for dinner. Kelsey was our server in the lounge. She served us promptly with a smile. The ambience of the lounge and restaurant is perfect, classy and quiet. Our experience in the dining room was as good as it was in the lounge. Our server, Kelly was very professional and attentive. My father-in-law and I ordered the Pacific Seabass. My husband and mother-in-law ordered the New York Steak. OMG to everything. One of the best Seabass I've had in a long time. When father-in-law took his first bite I honest thought he found utopia. After my first bite "he did". This is a great place for a perfect evening to celebrate 85 years of life with someone you really love.

Always amazing. From the amazing prawn appetizers to the final coffee. Highly recommend the Steamer's Linguine. You can't go wrong here.

My salmon was supposed to be grilled like at dinner, but it was fried in oil on a flat top or a pan! It was awful, same for my wife’s halibut. We specifically asked and were told preparations were the same as evening. I did not send back, because we had two additional guests with us!

Each of us had a delicious perfectly prepared salad. The waiter surprised my 92 year old friend with a dessert, which she loved.

Wonderful fresh seafood. It is always cooked perfectly. The grilled halibut never disappoints. The sesame crusted ahi was also excellent.

Nice service. Came for the risotto and scallops dish I’ve had for years but it’s no longer available for dinner.
I had the snapper with lemon beurre blanc sauce. It was not super flavorful but was not bad. Maybe because I was ready for risotto. Window table we requested was not available.

The food at Steamers is always good and fresh! It's a great place for lunch or dinner!

Delicious and a great time!!

This is our “go to” date night out! The special was rainbow trout which was delicious! Scallops are always perfectly cooked. We shared a the coconut shrimp appetizer which was yummy.

We went for a late lunch and it seemed very busy. The food was average - cold, not very fresh, and not delicious. Our risotto wasn’t creamy and the calamari was cold and wasn’t fresh. Anxious but knowledgeable and polite staff. Will go again only if I have to.

I just want to let you know i've been a "Steamer's Fish House Fan" since it was located across the street at Old Town.

Well, jump ahead to February 21st, 2020, I decided to take my Wife out to LG and hit up "Steamers" for her birthday.

We arrived early for our reservation so we decided to go to the bar and have a drink and appetizer.

The service and feeling in the bar was great. Our waitress was very nice and gave fantastic customer service, which is what I expected from Steamers based on all of my previous experiences. Had a nice time.

Time was up and we headed into the dining room. Our waitress was fantastic, very attentive and friendly. The special of the night was Linguine with Prawns, Pancetta and Peppers.. My wife jumped on that and then I ordered the steak.

The food came out and I saw 2 shrimp on top of what looked like spaghetti with bacon? Due to to the pieces being very large and flat. I called our waitress over and stated, "There is only 2 shrimp on my wife dish, is this right?" our waitress responded with, "Yes, just 2." Really?

The food was horrible. I spent over $200 dollars for great service and terrible food? Disappointed!

So I hope you read this review because right now I will never go back.

Good servers

We got seated right away but it took while to get actual service. Waiter seemed very busy or overwhelmed with tables. Ordered soup first then the halibut but the food was cold but when I finally got the side of string beans I was happy they were hot unfortunately they came when I was almost done with my meal. We normally sit at the bar but we had brought my mom so we got a table. I still love Steamers but I most likely with dine at the bar again.

We went to dinner on Valentine's day & had a great time. Food was great & Haro, our waiter provided excellent service, he was very attentive & gave us great suggestions. Good experience, we will be back.

Good food, service and preparation.

Wonderful place to dine on amazingly well prepared and fresh seafood. Be ready to pay quite a bit but the quality and ambiance makes it worth it

I'll try to book without using Open Table going forward.

Kylie was our server, she was attentive and did a very good job.
Her busboy was extremely watchful and was there filling water and iced tea glasses quickly, always a treat!

We arrived a bit early causing some confusion with our seating, but things improved quickly. Our server was very welcoming and helpful. Food was almost 5 star. Our evening was very enjoyable.

One of my favorites! My salmon was cooked to perfection and our guest loved his dinner as well. We will always enjoy our time at Steamer's! I hate that I have to write fifty words, but will because Steamer's never has let me down. A classic restaurant in los Gatos, but you will pay for it! More that worth it!

My guest and myself enjoyed a wonderful dinner. We both enjoyed the night specials: the pistachio salmon and the swordfish. Prompt and caring service and inviting presentation in a comfortable atmosphere. I look forward to enjoying Steamer's again.

Food was very good. The noise level was high although we were able to hear each other at our table for two. Not a quiet or romantic restaurant.
