The Steakhouse at Spa Resort Casino Ratings and Reviews
We had reservations for valentines day dinner for two. Checked in on time. Told they only had immediate availability outside on the patio. Almost felt we were corralled outside out of sight as I saw plenty of empty tables inside. Nobody else dined outside except us, on valentines day, reservations only. Odd! Alas if they put us outside because maybe we didn't fit the ambiance they did us a favor. Nobody but us on the patio, no noise, no looks from gawkers. Service was timely and the hostess who sat us did check on us. Food was OK but not 165 bucks worth. Meat was very tender, lobster a little overcooked and small meat in a big shell mmmm. Beware of the Large shrimp cocktail, 3 shrimp for 24 bucks. You do the math. Tangerine magarita was great. Next valentines dinner will be epic, but not here.
Was worried the Valentines menu wouldn't be as good as regular menu, wrong! It was fantastic and a LOT of food. We took took a to go box! Excellent service, despite the restaurant being very busy we were never rushed. The value for the special dinner was outstanding. We will be back.
Very poor experience
We were there 45 minutes after opening they were already out of what my wife wanted to order. I ordered a shrimp cocktail and there were only three shrimp when there are usually 4 and still charged 24 dollars. Them my steak was under cooked and you couldn't say anything to anybody because the waiter was spending his time with what must have been a relative or customer that's there a lot as well as the manager she spent 20 minutes with one table just chatting away not caring how the rest of her restaurant was doing
Will never be back
Early bird is pretty good value but steak that comes with it was tiny.
Sadly our meal was paced to get us in and out... and bill was rudely put on our table without our asking the second our plates were taken. When I drop over $100 on a meal, I deserve more than 30 minutes. The restaurant was still empty.
No one could care less it was a birthday celebration, which we had noted in our reservation.
No way that rating is valid. Won’t be back
We have eaten a couple of times with you in Palm Springs. Many times in Rancho Mirage. Every meal has been excellent. The desserts are better in Palm Springs. And you had duck, which my wife ordered, which is not on the menu in Rancho Mirage. The entire evening was A+.
Your average casino restaurant dressed up as a fancy steakhouse. Meat was flavorful and well seasoned but on the tough side. My husband's steak was cooked perfectly, mine was a bit overdone, we both ordered medium. Potatoes au gratin had awkward, sad undercooked chunks of potatoes of all sizes with very little gratin. The effect was mostly bites of big poorly cut pieces of undercooked potato with no flavor. They should rethink this dish, a good potato dish at a steak house should be a no-brainer. Poorly cut chunks in non-uniform sizes with too little sauce was a disappointment. The service was good but one point of irritation for me is the water glass being filled every five minutes. While I believe the server was trying to stay on top of it, the effect was frequent interruption and a nearly filled glass which is harder to hold and drink from without spilling. I would have much preferred the water glasses not be refilled until below half. Not a terrible restaurant mind you but with a bill of $150 for 2 steaks, 2 sides and no alcohol was steep for what we got.
I have been to this restaurant many times and was my favorite steakhouse place in Coachella Valley. Have not been here over past year and would no longer recommend this facility. The rib eye steak served was pitiful, 16 oz about 1/2 inch thick and I ordered it Med/rare but that is difficult for a rib eye that is so thin to cook med/rare. It was tasteless and sent it back. The steak came on a plate all alone no presentation whatsoever. I reordered the 7 oz Filet Mignon that was a little better but still does not justify the price or taste. Not to mention I had to eat it alone while other Birthday guest, had finished their meal to prevent it from becoming cold. The sides are all extra, ($10 and up), the bake potato was $10 and was a regular size potato that they present at the table and mix sour cream, chives and bacon and I guess the preparation is was justifies for the $10 cost. I am very disappointed at what has happened to this restaurant and would not recommend it since there are many more other restaurants in the Valley that are far more better and less expensive.
Moved to the area 12 years ago and we started here a the casino when it was the “other” steak house restaurant and we really missed the happy hour it provided. This was our first time back in quite a while and we were pleasantly surprised. Only suggestion would be to have something a little more local friendly like a happy hour that included light tasty bites along with reasonably priced drinks. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
My husband & I go to the Spa Steakhouse occasionally for special occasions. The number one reason is the delicious food! The menu provides a wide selection & every entree is gourmet. The food presentation is of gourmet style to me. The service is very prompt. I usually order the same
thing. I love the filet mignon. My husband has tried different main entrees & enjoyed them all.
I always say "the food is a cut above." The only suggestion I have is to change the music. Along the line of Frank Sinatra or Tony Bennett. Great ambiance & not too loud.
We have been here many times and decided to go for Christmas Day. Overall, everything was great - as it usually is. The only problem was the rather rude and unhelpful hostess they had managing the front desk. She created a completely unnecessary scene that almost ruined our evening. We had specifically asked for a table in our Open Table reservation - and not a banquette or booth - as I am claustrophobic. When we arrived, the hostess walked us past numerous open tables in the main seating area and led us to a small banquette table in the rear of the restaurant. I can assure you that we were appropriately dressed and freshly showered. When I asked about all the open tables in the main dining room, she told us "they were reserved for other parties" and this was the ONLY table available to us. When I told her about the Open Table reservation, she told it "it doesn't matter" (so much for Open Table!). When I asked to see a manager, she told that she alone was "controlling the tables." I followed her back to the front desk and only after I reminded her that I had a medical condition did she, reluctantly, show us to a table in the main room. To add insult to injury, there were three other tables open in the main dining room when we came in that we could have sat at and when we left two hours later they were still empty (they were never used for all the "other people who had reservations"). I fail to see what the point of this was - particularly on Christmas Day! Fortunately, the servers saw the exchange and worked to make it up to us all evening.
We celebrated a birthday and went specifically for the Chateaubriand. Everything was wonderful. The only disappointment was the side order of Brussels Sprouts. They were merely steamed with some butter and even tasted as if they had been frozen. They could "spruce up" that recipe.
We love dining at the Spa Steakhouse. We started with martini's and a bottle of Conn Creek Cab. For our starters, we had the Manhatten Clam Chowder, Ahi Poke and Raddichio salad. All delicious! for our main courses, we had the Chilean Sea Bass, the Striped Sea Bass and the 10 oz. Filet. All prepared perfectly. Our dinner was casual and at our pace, there was absolutely no rush. Our waitress, I hope I am getting her name right, was Chelsea. She was excellent! And for dessert a gratis piece of chocolate cake! Happy Birthday!
wow OUR NEW Thanksgiving tradition just started here! The service was outstanding and the food was, well some of the best I have had! being a New Orleans foodie I pride myself in knowing high end restaurants and their food- well you will not be disappointed here! Will be back before the next holiday
Our reservation did not show on their computer and they had a very rude attitude about it. We showed them our confirmation mail, after that it took a lot of talking between the two of them and at the end we had a very nice table, but they did not bother to apologize for the weird attitude nor for letting us wait.
Nice atmosphere. Best steak I have had in a very long time. It was delicious and cooked perfectly. A bit on the expensive side, but very reasonable for the quality and type of food along with attentive, but non obtrusive service. I strongly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a high quality steak dinner.
Everything was excellent. We had Steakhouse salad; tenderloin skewers; filet mignon; brussel sprouts; augratin potatoes ; berries & cream & of course cocktails made to perfection. Our only complaint was table seating. It was a booth that backs up to the bar & faces the dining room.
Ambiance is my taste, service was excellent. Expensive menu that is not justified. Food can be found at Outback to be a much better value and taste. We like our filet mignon to be cooked medium well to well done. However it should be cooked jn a manner that allows the steak to be juicy. Also note to restaurants: BUY GRASS FED BEEF- IT IS HEALTHIER FOR PEOPLE, NOT CORN FED GARBAGE. Our steaks were cooked well done but they were not juicy. Sauces and mashed potatoes were good. Looks like we are still in the search for our go to restaurant in the Palm Springs area. (2) people with steak dinners, sides, and salads = $200+/ tip included.
Overpriced and noisy. Our waiter, Don, was great but couldn't make up for the noise level in the restaurant. To be fair, there were some very noisy diners but the restaurant design appeared to augment the noise rather than absorb it. Food was ok but very expensive. There are nicer options elsewhere in the city at a much better value
The Steakhouse at the Spa Resort Casino in Palm Springs is simply the best filet in the greater Palm Springs area. We dine out weekly and are always in search of a great filet. There's several places close but no one has managed to excel at the filet like theSteakhouse! I judge my filets by their thickness to start with. The thicker it is the harder to cook but the better the taste. These guys nail it every time!
This place was AMAZING!!! I enjoyed the cocktails and the Filet Mignon!!! My husband and I were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary. Don was our waiter and was absolutely wonderful! He is the epitome of what great service is! His energy was upbeat and welcoming. I felt as if I were dining at his home. He knew the menu and selections and provided great service!!!! The food was great! I can't wait to visit again!♥
