Steak 954 at the W Fort Lauderdale
I love this restaurant. I’ve been here many time
Our son got engaged and we were meeting he and his future bride to make plans. Caroline was our server. She knew of our exciting news and she was just as excited as we were. She was on top of everything. The place was hopping and the food was exceptional. Thank you.
Steak was done to perfection. Very tender meat. Great service.
Steak was like butter and the Potato Gratin is a work of art!
Amazing waiter, amazing food, amazing experience! Wie will certainly be back the next time were in FLL.
Very good meat, everything else was mediocre at best. Everything we ate was extremely salty, including Croutons in a salad, hash browns, sauce for lamb chops and also the meat itself. Quality of meat in all dishes was excellent, but for the price we paid, I expected a better experience overall, not just good steak.
Best steak I ever had! My husband and I had the twelve ounce filets, cooked medium rare. We also had a baked potato, asparagus, and cauliflower. For appetizers we had the scallops and lump crab. Everything was excellent and the server was so attentive and accommodating. Even though we were staying at a local hotel, we took all the leftovers. Couldn’t leave anything behind, it was all so good.
A little on the pricey side but definitely worth it! Wish we could order from home and have the food shipped!
We liked it so much we are going back tonight the 7th only issue was seating wish we had a table for two by itself
I have been years ago in this restaurant and the food back than was far better. Porterhouse was burned and didn’t taste any special. MACnCheese, tasted of nothing but cream. I did not enjoy our stay and wouldn’t come back anymore. For this price the quality should be better. Much better.
When I shared my feedback with the waiter, he said yes sometimes they burn the meat. Seems quite normal.
Great food and cocktails, service was ok, expected better service when paying a premium .
Food and service were incredible although a little loud. We asked to move tables from a rowdy group and were accommodated.
Really good overall. Steak was good... not as good as expected
It was good but not great. Way too expensive and the drinks were just average but the food very good and service was good too. They blew the birthday surprise that we tried so hard to keep a secret as the hostess wished my husband a Happy Birthday when we arrived. Not impressed for a Stephen Starr Restaurant as their standards are pretty high...maybe that is why it was empty.
Good not great. Food was tasty but lobster tail add-on to the steak was a joke. More like a large shrimp.
We had such a great experience form the minute we walked in all the way through leaving. We were welcomed by the hostess upon arriving, seated promptly. Our server Leslie was so nice and very knowledgeable. The service was excellent. The steak is one of the best I've ever had. And the sides are delicious! We had the truffle potatoes, creamed spinach, and cauliflower. The Cucumber cocktail was so amazing!! Can't wait to go back again!
Dined this past Saturday.
Service and kitchen couldn’t keep up with demand.
The noise level was uproarious! The food was definitely not worth the value. I was absolutely disappointed in my first experience there and I will not be returning. Our waitress, Chanel was amazing!
One of the most fun evenings at a steakhouse I have experienced. We had a party of 8 in for the boat show. The décor inside is modern but very attractive with views directly of the ocean, not to mention the jellyfish wall. Our server, Maxwell, set the tone, and was informative, efficient and kept the mood light. The service itself was well paced and we never felt rushed. In fact, it ended up being a 4 1/2 hour dinner but several of our party commented that they couldn't believe how much time had passed, in a good way. Steak 954 never tried to turn over our table but let us linger.
As far as the actual eating part, Steak 954 has a very good cocktail and wine list with a very good scotch/whisky selection. The wine markups are not unreasonable. The menu itself doesn't really have any surprises although it does have a rather large selection of seafood appetizers with the tuna being a standout. We also ordered a raw platter for the table which was well provisioned and very good. Seven of the eight had steaks and each came out just as ordered and were excellent. The sides were the most ordinary part of the evening with the creamed spinach being the closest thing to a disappointment. We finished with cookies, which come by the dozen, and were warm and amazing.
I entertain frequently for our firm clients who are used to good restaurants. All of our attendees that evening agreed that it was an exceptional experience and complemented Steak 954 , as well as Maxwell. This was my first time but I expect that this will become one of our top choices for a special evening in Ft. Lauderdale.
Server not attentive or knowledgeable about items on the menu or the wine list. Atmosphere fantastic. Food good but a bit average / not that flavorful. I've had a better experience at this restaurant. Quality has gone down but prices have not.
Great restaurant 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Great service. Superb food. I would highly recommend. Pricey but worth it.
My experience was great. Service and food was top notch. We enjoyed every moment!!
Everything was excellent from the food to the service. Top notch! My only recommendation would be to add lights to the menu. We couldn’t see! Lol Overall and amazing experience.
My husband and I went to Steak 954 for breakfast on a Saturday morning and the food was absolutely incredible. We ordered over easy eggs, bacon, with potatoes & we split the vanilla french toast, it was the best breakfast we have ever had. The quality of the food was spectacular. Our service was wonderful as well, timely and helpful with any questions we had. We were able to sit outside with views of the beach also! The prices were a tad high for ordering breakfast, but like I said, the quality of the food was great making it worth it. It's almost like eating at a Ruth Chris Steakhouse or other high end steakhouses for breakfast, worth every penny though. When we visit Ft Lauderdale again, we will be sure to return!
Absolutely fantastic food and service! Loved sitting on the outdoor patio.
Food was amazing
we were promptly seated the food was amazing great place
It was fantastic!
Birthday... did nothing special compared to other high end restaurants!
Went to celebrate my birthday with my 2 daughters and husband. I checked out their menu online before hand so I would know what to expect. Not surprised that they are a la carte, since they are in the W hotel and on the beach. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is nice. The Moon jellyfish tank is beautiful! We were seated right away. Our server was excellent in getting our orders and drinks in a timely fashion. That being said, the food was just mediocre. We all ordered the porterhouse steaks except one of my daughters who ordered the Wagyu NY strip. They came out as ordered but nothing to write home about. I have had better at my local Longhorn. My daughter who ordered the Wagyu steak had to ask our waiter wether her steak got mixed up, since, from her experience with the meat, it was suppose to be tender and a total difference from “regular” steak. It was kinda tough. The maitre d did come over and offer to cook another one, but she declined. Overall, It would not be a restaurant I would go to again not recommend.
Wonderful ! Bread was amazing
Crab cakes to die for
Great excellent service !
Great Cesar Salad!
What an amazing Anniversary celebration!! Peter the manager greeted us with glasses of champagne and Our server “Eldest” David made our food experience very special and our food was delicious!! “Elder” David ended our evening with a yummy red velvet cupcake with a lit candle, a “Happy “31st” Anniversary written in chocolate!! Thank you everyone!! Loved it!!
Went to Steak 954 Sat night for a double bday. Ambience and service were great. Food...not so much. Appetizers were good. Between all of us we had cesaer salad, wedge salad and French onion soup. All good but nothing spectacular and overpriced for sure. Main course: lobster - it was terrible. rubbery and not flavorful - dish went unfinished. Chilean sea bass - horrible - super salty. another dish not finished. kobe skirt steak - yummy but I've had better for half the price. Bone in Porter - good. Side dishes: good but again nothing to write home about.
Dessert - we had crème brulee and it was fine.
Honestly the best thing was the free popover bread they serve you before your meal. So many friends of mine come here for special occasions but truth, I think its because its trendy, good location and ambience is nice, but food is not worth writing home about.
Would not recommend nor would I go back.
Food was excellent but the noise was excessive for fine dining establishment unfortunately outside was not available we've never experienced the inside dining it's always been very pleasant and wonderful experience outside
Our meal was fine. The steak was good. I had a fillet and my husband the NY strip. Both cooked well. I have had much better creamed spinach at a lot of other steak houses. We also got the hash brown. It looked like a birds nest, and was potatoes filled with other potatoes. It could have used some flavor. We chose this as our one nice upscale meal for vacation and it was a bit underwhelming.
It was freezing inside the restaurant.
Our server spoke very low and was difficult to hear over the large group meeting that was occurring in the next room.
So overall it was fine, but nothing to write home about.
Had a good experience. Food was good and so was the service.
Steak 954 is our favorite steak restaurant in South Florida, the skirt steak is amazing! Low key the soufflé dessert might be the best out there
