STEAK & BURGERS WITH FRIES WAS VERY GOOD. NOT A LOT OF SELECTIONS ON THE MENU. THEY SERVED THE SODA WITH A METAL STRAW AND DID NOT A ANY PLASTIC STRAWS. THEY MAKE A LOT OF FANCY DRINKS BUT DIDN'T HAVE CROWN ROYAL TO MIX THE DRINK. I DON'T THINK I WOULD GO BACK.
The food was amazing and the staff are lovely! Great place for a date or hanging out with friends. I almost wept at the taste of the food it was so good!!!
delicous, sophisticated, adventurous food and drinks
I got my first career type job, so we were celebrating. The food was excellent. The server was great. I love sitting outside when I can.
Fun atmosphere, delicious drinks & fantastic food!
All good, no services issues, nice quiet setting...
The restaurant was closed. Open table should recognize this
After a bad experience a few months back we decided to give them another try for dinner. They were out of several menu items and buns so we couldn’t order the food we had planned on getting. It also took 30 minutes to place our drink orders and another 20 for them to be prepped. After several failed attempts at ordering food we waiting 90 minutes for 6 undercooked wings and a plate of pasta. We will not be going back.
Terrible experience. I do not recommend this restaurant. I was very sick after I ate there. The food and drinks quality was very poor. The only good thing was that they offered seating outside.
Menu advertised sirloin steak…was served sirloin tips. Very overpriced for such a low cut of meat. Also just overall misleading.
Wine selection is interesting food is delightful: clean & flavorful ingredients prepared with attention to detail. Service was pleasant, given the stress of the past 20 months, it was very comfortable.... a little more polish in service will come as routine returns (we hope?)!
Unnecessarily expensive. We were looking for a good burger, and a review said that they have one of the best in the city, so we gave it a shot. $20. Each. Listen, if it were a $12 burger, it would’ve been a very good burger. I moved to Pittsburgh from DC, and the very best burger place in DC doesn’t even charge $20. It was fine (not particularly large and a little over cooked), but it definitely was not worth the cost, and we have no reason to go back.
Also, the only beer they had was IC & IC Light (which they inexplicably charge $7 for), so that was strange and disappointing.
The food was excellent, and our waiter was top notch. The bar area was down a notch or too from when Sean worked there. Maybe this area is ramping up post pandemic and can equal the restaurant experience
The GM floor manager is a great host, his interactions are genuine and valued
We had a wonderful time and the staff was very accommodating. We really enjoyed out food and they nailed my husband's "rare plus" steak. Sad to see the octopus is now a small plate instead of a large but enjoyed the baked halibut very much. We ate outside. We were wondering how that would be on Liberty Ave but with the tent they had put in the parking lane, we really didn't notice the traffic that much. We would highly recommend!
This is a tough review. We have always liked Station a lot. Perhaps the issues we encountered are at least partially due to Station just recently opened for indoor service and there were a lot of service issues. First of all that food was tasty and pretty. The main issue seemed to be that the Host seemed to have way to much on his plate. He was seating people inside the dining room and the bar, as well as outside. In addition he was serving the Bar tables as well as playing the music, which was much louder than it used to be. It may be that Station is having issues with staffing. The host seemed obviously irritated and frustrated. It took forever to get our drinks ordered and the table set. When a second wine was ordered it sat at the end of the bar for over five minutes and it had taken awhile to get poured. When asked about the drink the host said the bartenders were busy serving other customers, but when we looked at the bar the drink still sat at the end of the bar and one of the bartenders was drying glasses. Soon after the bartender brought the drink and then checked back with us which was good . He seemed to understand what was going on and after that he was carrying drinks to other tables. A couple sat next to us later at the adjoining bar table and we could tell they were getting frustrated with the service issues as well.
Staff very nice
Caramel popcorn panna cotta is one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life. Delicious! Friendly service as well.
Reservation was for 8pm and we weren’t seated until 8:15, and only after going to the bar to ask if there was anyone at front of house to seat us. We weren’t given menus at the table and left at 8:45 after waiting another 25 minutes for drinks that never arrived. Very disappointing experience and very poor service. We had guests in from out of town and were embarrassed to bring them here. (We didn’t get to eat but I based my food & ambiance ratings on previous visits.)
We have been there in the past and really enjoyed it, but not this time. Walked in there is no hostess stand it is off to the side and really just an iPad on the end of the bar. A worker tells us to get out of the doorway, yet there is really no where to go. Others came in at the same time and he was not rude to them. Get to our table, I asked the same guy about the menu and he was very short with his replay. Took about 10 min for a server to come. At the point she arrived we already knew what we were ordering. My husband son and I ordered the 3 courses and my husband and I asked for the wine paring it took forever to get the first course and when it did we had to ask twice for the wine. Same thing happened with the second and third course. The food was okay, I had the halibut and it was over cooked and dry. The roasted carrots were yummy and the panna cotta was delish. We will not be back, my son said he was miserable there and the sad thing about that is that we were there for a family meal before he left for school. Over all a bad experience. Which makes me sad. Oh, well. We won’t stop at Station again.
Service was slow. Entire restaurant seemed disorganized from the moment you walk in. Food was very good and waiter was friendly enough, just no awareness. We sat for 15 min after our dessert plates were cleared before we got the check. Had my card ready, and he said he'd be right back to grab it. 15 min later we had to dig up enough cash to leave on the table, as he never returned to take our card, despite walking past several times. Shame, because the food was great.
All food choices and cocktails are top notch. Sat ourdoors. Outdoor seating is average. Waitstaff is a little on the slow side but efficient.
Great pasta dishes !
Excellent food and fair price points. Service was a little slow as it is at most restaurants. I like that you can order 1/2 portions and almost 1/2 the price. Worth returning to try other dishes.
The food was not delicious. The service was slow!
They don’t have enough waiters. Manager was accommodating.
They were short staffed. It took 30 min to get our drinks.
Waited half hour after our reservation and still did not have a menu or a server at our table. We never ate b/c we voted to bail out. The bartender didn’t know how to make anything “off menu” and they were very unorganized. Food could be good but we will never know😔
We arrived to find out that while we had reservations, the only option was to sit outside. We did not reserve outdoor seating.
It was a problem because the outdoor tables are literally on Liberty Avenue in parking spaces, covered by wonky white plastic sheeting to protect from weather. The homemade tenting would blow and move because of the passing traffic. This may have been okay during the Covid crisis but not now.
After we complained and were about to leave, a table inside became magically available.
Food is fabulous- carrot salad and pea soup A+
To start off, I booked three reservations to accommodate a group of 12 outside. Subversive? Yes. But done with the best of intentions. Manager worked to accommodate us and move us inside where we could be accommodated much more easily and really helped. Once we got there, service was a little slow to start and with six minutes remaining we were given notice that our ‘two hour window’ for the reservation was expiring and the 7pm diners would need to be seated. I can respect the need to keep things moving and my indiscretion causing some difficulty for them, but I honestly don’t recall ever seeing or hearing of a two hour dining window for the evening, especially for a group of 12. I admit I caused some difficulty so I can’t really complain. Just wish the two hour thing was explained or reminded when we were seated at 515 that 7pm would be the cutoff. Manager was helpful and worked to try and accommodate the group, it was just awkward all around. I’d honestly have preferred to cancel the whole thing and find other accommodation to having the group move outside to finish the meal and cause difficulty for the reservations had I known.
Drink service was a little slow and they were out of a lot of the menu items (and one of the cocktails); granted our reservation was at 8 pm
Really incredible food and nice servers. The Romaine salad and steak with fried cauliflower were fantastic. Some cool wines too.
The host ?(owner)was very curt with us when we were being seated. We had a reservation and arrived 5 min early. Our waitress was very nice but told us she was new. (We told her we understood ).
They would only make one of 2 drinks on the menu and one had been changed to something else.
Our friend asked for a gin and tonic Ans they said they weren’t sure they could do that
They were out of many of the wines we asked for
We understand about the pandemic but saw several people arrive after us and get their food much more quickly.
The food was excellent.
We had asked for another glass of wine with dinner but it never arrived and we were almost done with dinner so we cancelled them(this was after picking 2 other wines by the bottle and glass that they had run out of. )
Did not feel as if we were treated well
Not sure why. Possible it is short staffing so this may resolve in the next several months. I think the host should have helped our waitress more. She seemed overwhelmed
Won’t be back too soon though
Food was amazing and so was the service. Dined outdoors which we preferred. A bit noisy in the street but to be expected. Overall a lovely experience. Will definitely be going back for more!
The menu advertised online was not the menu when we got there. It’s become very expensive, and only dessert offered is popcorn. Really!
Warning extremely slow service and food not that good. We had a 7 pm dinner reservation and did not get out of there until almost 10. We got our main entrees after 9 after we were told they lost half our order. So disappointed we had a sitter and were out with friends and left feeling very frustrated we wasted our time there.
We had a perfect time. We were greeted right away with all staff helpful and friendly. Cocktails and food we’re outstanding! I’ve recommended to several people already!
Had a nice time with friends last night here. The food was yummy and the service was excellent. The manager/owner was super nice and fun when my friend spilled her drink on me on accident. And he was super helpful explaining the menu and different ingredients. I would recommend Station.
Our dinner was outstanding! Paul, the GM, and his staff are friendly and kind and excellent all around. Thank you also to the chef ! Everything was delicious:)
Street side seating was uncomfortable and felt unsafe with cars speeding by within inches. Music was too loud and server said no adjustment was possible to volume was possible. Food portions were small plate size for main entrees. Prices were high . All in all , an uncomfortable unsatisfying expensive meal. We will not return nor recommend.
