Our table was ready when we walked in the door. They were busy but service was great. Food was good.
On a three day Pt. Reyes vacation, we ate at Station House five times--breakfast, lunch, dinner. The food, service and ambience are outstanding. Our first visit was probably 15 years ago. It keeps getting better.
As always, the food was great and so was the service.
They do have issues with their AC which is always on even when it's cold out. We got seated under the AC so we wore our jackets.
If you like live loud music; you'll love it. We couldn't hear ourselves talk so that was a bummer. Our fault though; they don't always have music, so we forgot.
Recommended by a local - food was good but service was slow. They were very busy when we arrived. Maybe short staffed? Our table was ready when we arrived which is great! We saw they have a large outdoor dining area & weather permitting it would be really fun to be outside. I would give them another shot!
Delicious food,.great music and those popovers....Yum!
We are familiar with the Station House Cafe, having eaten there off and on over the years. Having moved closer to PT. Reyes not long ago we planned our day for a visit to the charming town and a early evening dinner at the Cafe. We particularly wanted to be there for dinner as that is when they serve popovers, a special treat not available at other times. We both had the pork roulade entree. We began with a vegetarian soup (for my wife) and a Caesar salad for me. Altogether an excellent dinner for two.
Terrible service and food. Used to love this place. Never going back.
great outdoor patio under beautiful arbor. fun lunch place while exploring west marin.
Consistently good food and always a place we look forward to visiting when in the area.
Food was great, had oysters, calamari and clams. Dessert was excellent, berry pie alamode...ice cream was fantastic. Atmosphere was load, and they had live music. Band sounded pretty good. Would recommend it as a fun way to top off a trip to Point Reyes.
One of our favorite "go to" spots.
Station House is a great everyday dinner option. It has been a bit uneven on the food quality over the last several months, but this visit everything was up to their historical high standards: the popovers were back to their hot crisp perfection. The entree's were tasty and interesting. The service was prompt and convivial.
Long wait, ambiance nothing special, menu only consist of hamburgers, salads, and soups, yet, was a long wait and food was under cooked. Sorry, we won't be going back.
Fresh, tasty food on highway one. Great locale and they use local ingredients that are the best.
Had a GREAT TIME WITH FAMILY! Waitress was great! Food was great.
Will be back the next time in the area!
Comfort food in nice setting. The food is not special but enjoyable. They need more brunch options for weekend meals. Have been going there for decades. Can go in dressed nicely or straight from a hike. Eating in the garden on a sunny day is a treat.
Excellent as always. Not pretentious. Reasonably priced. Great food and good service. What more can you ask for? I've never been disappointed with their seasonal menu, but wish they had some standbys. On one occasion, I tried their St. Louis style ribs and fell in love! However, I haven't seen them since... We WILL be together again someday as I strongly believe me and those ribs were fated. If I could marry those ribs, I would! I always recommend Station House to anyone that is heading over to the West Marin area.
Some of the food is excellent. Very tasty and seems fresh. Wonderful popovers. Such a treat. Warm and fresh. The Little Gem lettuce Caesar salad is quite good. I had papparadelle with wild mushrooms a few weeks ago and it was excellent. The pasta was so tender. And the mushrooms were tasty. Had the risotto with spring peas recently and it was lacking in flavor.
The Chartreuse mojito is wonderful.
I feel the food is inconsistent. But generally good. A fun place to go in Pt. Reyes Station. And not too expensive.
The garden is blooming and the food was delicious ! My husband had the Rueben sandwich and I had the oyster poor boy. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the beautiful garden.
This place is packed on a sunny weekend and has a delightful patio.. We were lucky to get in for Easter Sunday brunch, bc of the rainy weather and it was delicious.. I've only been here twice and have had the same thing.. Gits and Greens w poached egg..... yum!
Lovely outdoor setting. Service was a little slow but everyone was very nice so not such a problem. Great cocktails. Food was fresh, beautifully presented and yummy.
Our 7:30PM reservation was honored - even with a full house and 2 parties waiting . It was unusually busy for a Mon night at this hour, probably because there was a (good country) band in the bar!! Food was delicious as always (terrific popovers!), and the Bread Pudding for dessert was to die for. Server was a very nice woman in her 30s? with brown hair and a nice smile. We have been coming here for about 20 years, always stopping for dinner on our way home to Berkeley from much-needed time away at Sea Ranch.
This place used to be a favorite but I feel that the food has gone downhill, and the prices are high in comparison to the food quality. Not sure I would go back except that it's one of the few casual restaurants in the Point Reyes Station area so there aren't too many choices. The best thing about it is the atmosphere.
Live music on Sunday night too loud, but we were able to be seated in a far corner, so it was okay. Food very yummy, and we had good service. Margarita cocktail too sweet.
Always a pleasure, especially wen the sun is shining.
Point Reyes find.
We had not been to the Station House Cafe and since we were driving back from Bodega Bay
we decided to meet friends here for lunch. We sat out on the patio on a mild 73 degree Sunday.
We had great service and all of our food was delicious. We will definitely be back!
Good bar scene too.
waitress overworked. Food was expensive for what you got, menu has changed - prices increased. Too noisy,
Great lunch on the outdoor patio. Definitely order the local cheese plate and the fries with the aioli. The wine and cocktails are mediocre.
We always come here after hiking in Pt. Reyes. Always a treat coming here. Food has always been consistently good and comforting.
Excellent option after hiking in Point Reyes. Food was excellent and popovers were a treat.
Very special place. Had dinner after our arrival in town following drive up in the rain. Cafe so cozy & staff so welcoming - we enjoyed so much that we went back for breakfast this morning, great experience!
The station house has now fallen all the way from beloved local eatery to despised tourist trap! It's overpriced and mediocre!
I'd go back but I'd try other places in town first.
Calimari was "tasteless" Kind of rubbery
This is a fun, local place to eat in Pt. Reyes. Food was good and service was friendly. It was a nice part of the Pt. Reyes experience!
Fantastic food & friendly service. The risotto was a favorite at our table!
Good food and Derek (our server) was excellent! Enjoyed the polenta w/ mushrooms.
Mixed results. My husband enjoyed his clam chowder and risotto. I had a burger, which was subpar - Five Guys is much better (and less $s).
Our server was pleasant and helpful. Would I return? Maybe not . . .
4 of us spent the weekend in Inverness and had dinner at the cafe on a Sunday. We chose Sunday because the cafe features live music in the bar. They hire wonderful music groups like the Copasetics, resulting in a rollicking time including some brave souls who danced up a storm. After an hour of music and fabulous customized cocktails we moved to the dining room for an excellent dinner featuring local ingredients starting with oysters. The music was still playing but not so loud that it was an interruption. Just lively and lovely.
