About

Best known for great food, friendly service and gorgeous outdoor garden dining, the Station House Cafe, established in 1974, is situated amid the beauty and bounty of West Marin at the gateway to the Point Reyes National Seashore. With a long-standing emphasis on fresh and local, the menu features sustainable seafood; organic produce – some from the cafe’s own gardens – and Niman Ranch beef and lamb with classic American cuisine as the central theme. A private dining room is available for special events.

It was beautiful and relaxing dining in the outdoor area. The burger and the fried oysters were quite good as was the brownie sundae. Our server was friendly and pleasant. We had a very enjoyable, pleasant experience.

This is a place that you will always have a memorable meal with either your partner or a group. Service is exceptionally attentive but still very friendly. Food includes local organics and consistently high qualify. Wine list is a good value as well.

Yummy oysters, great open face crab sandwich and a phenomenal dessert; a fresh cherry cobbler studded with cherries, oatmeal crunch topping and vanilla ice cream.

Our first experience was with breakfast and they took such great care with breakfast that we suspected that they would do equally well with dinner. We returned for dinner and a drink at the bar. Food was quite good, attention paid to detail, service attentive.

Disappointed with third visit- first two much better- Caesar the busser was very good, other staff not very attentive- waiter surly and rarely checked back, could have sold much more. Food so, so- salad very dry

The first thing we noticed was how friendly all the staff were. A friend at the table asked the wrong waitress for another bottle of wine, and she brought it happily. We split a steak and it was more than enough, and cooked as we asked. The place is very relaxed and there was a wide array of folks dressed from very casual to slightly dressed up, with no one looking out of place. We will go again when we are in the area.

While the food was quite good, the value just wasn't apparent. The service was slow and the ambiance was far too loud. We're east coast'ers, so perhaps an East/West thing?

The good side: oysters and wedge salad were good. The bad side: Overlooked and tough artichoke appetizer, lukewarm when it came to the table. Grilled vegetable kabobs also just lukewarm when brought out and pretty tasteless. Didn't want to try dessert after that.

This is one of our favorite places. Quality food and a relaxing ambiance. I did not like my Shephard's Pie so much. Too much garlic and beef for me but maybe great for someone else. My wife's chicken was perfect.
