State Street Grill
With a sophisticated yet casual decor, State Street Grill has something for everyone, whether you simply want to taste our chef Trauger's creations or enjoy a full meal.
Our food was really good and enjoyed it. Its a little cramped but worth it.
Love it there! The food, the ambience, the cocktails. All amazing.
Our appetizer came out the same time our food did. Our waitress didn't check on us until someone was bringing out our food and noticed we didn't have our appetizer... my husband had a problem with his food and our waitress didn't come over to see how it was until after another waitress took our food away because we were ready to go. We explained to her that his steak (ribeye filet) was cooked good on the inside but the outside was very burnt and you couldn't taste anything but the burnt/char taste. She said there was nothing she could do unless we had said something to her when we had gotten our food.. I told her if she had came over and checked on us we would have. I was disappointed paying $100 for crappy service and burnt food.
Good ambiance to set outside on a nice day, not the best deal price to portion ratio. Great mixed drinks!
Try to get a table outdoors if the weather is nice.
Our waitress Taylor has a great personality, attentive to our needs and explained our questions regarding the menu. Food was served in a timely manner and was hot. This was our first time there and will definitely return.
Food and service is always outstanding!!
The meatloaf is to die for! Fish taco was very good.
Good cocktails too.
I really enjoy State St Grill, love sitting outside, weather permitting. They have heaters outside too, just in case it gets chilly. I ordered the cauliflower pizza crust, it was very good, wonderful if you are trying
to be gluten free. Our waitress was friendly and as fast as she could be. I like that State Street cares about the environment, their to-go containers are not styrofoam, I was actually going to e mail them and
ask them to start using paper straws, I really like when establishments try to help our environment. Very nice place to eat.
State Street is always a solid go to with a good mix of menu items and drink selections. One thing they need to do is type up a beer list, or make it available to view on untapped. It can be annoying going back and forth with the server for several minutes trying to figure out what beers are available.
Food was terrific as well as our setting. Unfortunately, our service could have been better. Our appetizer was forgotten and overall service was inattentive.
It was fantastic! Great service
Some of the new food items are beginning to be a bit unusual.
Lizzy was kind and helpful. We ❤️ her!!
Picking daughter up from College
Food was excellent as always. Cocktails were good and creative. Don’t love the new decor as much as the old. Would go back
Great Mother's Day Brunch. It was very much enjoyed by all. Just wish it did not rain so we could eat outside.
Mother’s Day Weekend
Love the outdoor seating. Vegan wing bites are amazing. Homemade chips with balsamic glaze is my favorite. Very helpful and sweet staff. Highly recommend.
Very cozy environment and the food is always very delicious. Service is a little bit more slow, but I never go if I'm in a hurry. I go to State St. to be there for a while, so it doesn't bother me.
Portions were good menu was good service was friendly
I saw someone mention State Street Grill on Facebook awhile back, noting that they had a good brunch menu. My girlfriends and I decided to try it out on Sunday, even though it was over an hour away from us. Having previously lived in several different major cities over the last 10 years and now back home in NEPA for the last year, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and creative menu offerings at State Street Grill. I actually felt like I was back in a chic little restaurant in Washington DC or something! Our brunch was delicious and the "make your own mimosas" was a nice touch. We only wished our server wouldn't have been so skimpy with the juices. There were 3 of us, and she only brought out two skinny glasses of juice. When we asked for a refill she came back with only half full glasses the second time. We paid $24, so we would have expected a little more juice, but other than that, no complaints! We commented that we should definitely come back for happy hour or dinner some Friday or Saturday night when the weather gets nicer and we can sit on the patio. Overall, I highly recommend!
Good food, not stellar, but good. It seemed that they had second-string kitchen staff on today. Had a party of 4. Two burgers arrived with incorrect options and sides (I saw the server’s notes—wasn’t her fault). The beet salad looked seriously sub-par (small, skimpy, especially for an entree-priced salad) and was missing two ingredients (we had the server bring one as a side).
The vegan sweet potato burger was good—something I would order again. Again, nothing to wow me, but fine. The drinks were good.
I have always lived in this area, but I had never eaten at State Street until now. I have heard people rave, but overall, my experience was average. The prices were average. It was fairly noisy, and the music was loud, despite the fact that we were there for brunch and we were seated in an out-of-the-way table.
Great atmosphere and great food. We had a great time. Thank you!
Happy for the heaters as we enjoyed Easter brunch outside! Everything was wonderful.
Brunch was phenomenal! Service was great and if you get good weather, the patio....
Waited 60+ minutes for our meals. Waitress was apologetic and comped drinks for those having a alcohol but not for those who didn’t drink alcohol.
Great food great location great service
Love the gluten free dairy free soy free options
I have eaten her several times for dinner and brunch. Food and drinks are always delightful! I would definitely recommend reservations for weekend dinner or brunch as they can get very busy. I will be back for sure.
We always try to make it out when we are visiting the area. We are big fans of the gluten free menu. Thanks.
My "medium" burger was raw and my wife's ahi was very fishy smelling and tasting and possibly frozen. Regardless it really didn't seem fresh. We've been very happy with our other visits here but it seems that the "B-team" was running the show on our last visit.
Normally I'd recommend State Street to a friend but after my last experience i just can't.
Easily our favorite place in NEPA. Food, service and ambience is second to none!!
Everything was just as expected and really good. My lower scores had to do with the noise levels, but that's to be expected on a Sunday Brunch day with several large groups of people. Parking isn't the easiest.
What a surprise, quite the secret gem of a restaurant! Not at all what we were expecting. Great food & service, in a modern, contemporary setting...we’ll definitely be back soon!
We had reservations for 7:30 and was seated at 7:58. The whole time we waited there were tables available with no one sitting at them. Our server did not check on us as very often. the food was good but a little over priced
What a great unexpected find. The setting is wonderful. Even with a full house we were able to enjoy a quiet meal for two. The menu was probably the greatest surprise! My wife and I agreed that this has to fit into the top 5 meals of all time. The proof was the Beet Creme' Brulee dessert!
Consistent, outstanding food. Fantastic ambience. Prompt, courteous service. Best restaurant in NEPA.
We had reservations for the Saturday evening of the Festival of Ice which was also Valentine's Day weekend so my review may not be what it would have been if it hadn't been so crowded and noisy. It was very hard to move or talk but everything else was great. Great food, great service. I would definitely go again but would make sure nothing else was going on!
Wonderful as always!
We live State Street Grille. We live about 45 minutes away and we only go about twice a year but every time we go we enjoy ourselves. Food is delicious. I like that is high quality and not your everyday meals. They are more unique and cooked perfectly. It’s a small cozy place lit up perfectly. Not to bright but bright enough.
