Hertford Restaurants

We had a great experience at Aqua! We come every time we are in the area and it never disappoints. 

Dinner June 11, 2025 Atmosphere, view and service was amazing. A few small issues I will mention just because I feel places can’t grow if we only highlight the positives. We sat at a table for 2 that one side was bench style seating and the other was chairs. On one side of us was a 2 top the other side was a 4 top. We were facing the kitchen (just to give reference). It felt very crowed and a bit uncomfortable being so close to other people. One couple who sat at the 2 top asked to be moved because they were so close and a group at the other table commented about how it’s a bit crowded in that area. Maybe do 3 two tops there to give a little space would be my suggestion. As for the food everything we had was amazing in flavor and preparedness. I will say the menu can be a little confusing the first time as the server didn’t explain things to us so we was surprised when we ordered 1 cheese curd and it was 1 small bite of a thing (not shareable). Thankfully we also got the shrimp 2 ways it was so good perfectly cooked and the shrimp ball/dip was amazing. The wife had tomato pie She shared 1 bite and it was amazing and a must have. I had The Duck entree it was fabulous and went well with the cabbage and beans. However my cut of Duck was a little fatty and tough (no complaints as I know it can happen with Duck). The chocolate cake looked dry from the start. It had an ok flavor but it was as dry as it looked. Not worth it at all definitely the worst item of the night. Now that Figgy Sticky pudding I wanna go back and get that today it was so good. The drinks were top notch and remained consistent all night, Great job bartender you guys and gals never get enough credit in these kinda places. Overall was a great experience and we have already booked our next reservation. For 2 weeks! 

It’s always a great place to let up with friends, have wine an enjoy the ambiance an music of the restaurant. Love it!

Glad we made a reservation because they were turning away walk-ins and it took 30 minutes to get our table after checking in. However, it’s a brand new location, new staff, and a busy week of high school graduations. The food and service made up for the long wait to get seated (30 minutes)and to have a waiter get to our table for drink orders (10 minutes). There was a wide selection at the food buffet with yummy appetizers and side dishes. The meats were great, some of the chicken offered were not very tender. This location was not as large and formal/ fancy as the one in Los Angeles, CA and we felt overdressed. We were expecting a bit more finer dining experience but many other guests were in jeans, flip flops and casual wear. However, they can handle large parties so it’s good for your special occasions like birthdays.

Open table stated outside, bar, high tops all unavailable. It would leave one to believe the restaurant was booked. Got there and it was 25% full. Just want the restaurant to be aware people might look elsewhere thinking the restaurant was full. Place is great.
