It’s hard to summarise everything good about Mango, a stylish Latin American bar, club and restaurant in the heart of Sauchiehall Street’s (in)famous stretch towards Charing Cross. Open til the wee hours, Mango is an awesome venue where you’ll be entertained by any manner of events, from open mic music to fire-breathing performers and Latin American dance classes. This bar and club has plenty of fuel to keep you going, whether a traditional Cuban mojito, Brazilian caipirinha or a Nicaraguan macua, but the most memorable – even if the rest of the night remains hazy – part about Mango is the food. Expect tapas of tamali or fried cassava, hearty burgers or hefty mains like oven baked salmon steak with signature mango sauce, pulled pork with fried plantains or vegetarian fajitas – you’ll be spoilt for choice at Mango whatever you order. It’s definitely the top spot in West End! Dear diners, please note that the kitchen is closed on Monday and Tuesday, but the bar is open. Thank you!

Mini Grill Glasgow is an internationally-inspired restaurant you really shouldn’t miss. Beneath Street level on Bath Street, right in the heart of the city, Mini Grill is cosy and cool and great for dinner as well as drinks. There are breakfast, lunch and pre-theatre menus available, but from the a la carte you can expect everything from gourmet burgers to mains like Thai curry or braised lamb shank. Or, one thing to try if there’s a group of you is the Scottish plate sharer that features balmoral chicken & black pudding blankets, haggis toast, Galloway cheddar & clapshot croquets, battered Troon haddock fingers and a selection of dips. Delightful.

Tucking into a refreshing bowl of pho loaded with beef, bean shoots, coriander and chilli or a sizzling seafood dish cooked with scallops, king prawns and squid with plenty of ginger and chilli is our idea of a mighty fine time. And when you’re in Glasgow, Non Viet is the place to be doing it. This chic Vietnamese restaurant boasts a menu fill to the brim with all your favourite Vietnamese classics, and some specialty options we can’t recommend more highly. Located in the city centre on Sauchiehall Street, Non Viet caters to everyone with a love of fresh and flavourful food, so what are you waiting for? Book a table now!

Punjabi Charing Cross in Glasgow is an Indian restaurant that locals can’t get enough of, which says quite a lot, because Glasgow isn’t short of good places to get a curry. Right on North Street in Anderston, just a few steps from Glasgow Charing Cross train station, Punjabi Charing Cross serves plenty of the curry house classics you know and love as well as plenty of Punjabi specialities you may not have tried before. We’re big fans of the noori with soft lamb – it’s a thick sauce that hits all the right notes with a generous use of green pepper and garlic. On a Friday night or at the weekend it feels like half of Anderston flocks to enjoy Punjabi Charing Cross, which makes for a great atmosphere but also means that reservations are essential.

The Wee Curry Shop Glasgow can be found on Buccleuch Street, just around the corner from the Glasgow School of Art, right in the city centre. Serving up all the Indian dishes you know and love, you can expect a delicious time indeed at The Wee Curry Shop. Serving up dinner seven days a week and lunch Monday through to Saturday, we just can’t get enough of this popular curry house. Expect mouthwatering dishes served straight from the open kitchen in a lively atmosphere, with a side of spectacular service. Advance booking is recommended to avoid disappointment, particularly on weekends.
