I had requested a table outside but the weather was not cooperating. We did sit outside and it was very stormy. The restaurants was willing to accommodate us inside but I did not think that was fair to others. We were able to move our table back and behind a pillar as well as locate the heater near us. So it all worked out. I had a house salad with an inclusion of grilled shrimp which was very tasty. We had string fries and deep fried green beans as an appetizer and they were good. My husband had a salad and shrimp tacos. He said they were good. The service was outstanding.

Have been to prior gold country steakhouse and safire about 8 times. The food has been consistently delicious, professionally spiced, well portioned, and presented with pleasing symmetry. Wife's alcoholic drinks were well proportioned. The blackened shrimp appetizer was an example of some creative cuisine that is rare around here. It's a joy to be able to eat and converse for 2 hours without suffering hearing loss from the oenophilec screaming, blessing many other chico acoustically challenged restaurants. You can actually chat here to your heart's content. Never any pressure by the wait staff to shove off. Servers, assistants, hosts all welcoming, efficient and helpful with ordering what's really good. Our waiter suggested pork loin with a sauce that was savory and sweet, reminiscent of hoi sin sauce. All in all, another lovely eating experience at safire.

My 7 year old son and I went for his birthday dinner. The service was great. We ordered a Caesar salad — the dressing was awesome—and salmon to share and it came out in a timely manner. They were kind, bringing him a spoon for his pearl pasta and offering him ice cream for his birthday. The in-house music was awesome, a perfect mix of dinner music and entertainment, keeping us moving in our seats.
