Very busy and bookings are essential! Very nice and cozy inside. Food was delicious! Highly recommended!!

My wife and I had a very good Sunday lunch at the Victoria Hotel. The food was excellent and my wife was especially pleased to have multiple gluten free options. She chose the chicken parmigiana - the first time she has found that on a menu anywhere! I had the home made pie made with stout and served with mash, peas and a delicious gravy. We chose red wine from the plentiful single glass options of mostly local Macedon Ranges wines. We finished with apple crumble and ice cream - also an unexpected gluten free option. Moreover, my espresso coffee arrived with the dessert - something not often well done in top class restaurants. Service was prompt and efficient and the young waiting staff did a great job, even after the large dining area had gradually filled to capacity. The only slight disappointment was there were no tables for two near the open fire. Overall, we found this to be an excellent Sunday lunch experience and the Victoria rates as one of top country pubs.

Excellent food - I had the roast special, Porcetta with roast veges. Perfect in every way! No one at our table was disappointed. Ambience was good - the rooms are beautiful, but the back dining area lights could probably do with some less harsh and less intense, bright-white bulbs. Some warmer-coloured lighting and dimmed just a little would be great. A large party arrived on the long table next to us, so it got a little loud for us old deaffies to have conversation. But we were able to retreat to an adjacent dining room, so that was a bit of a saviour. Where drinks are concerned, a Cab Sav option or two would be great! The Cab Merlot on offer was mediocre, and blimmin' Pinot Noir gets too much space in the world generally, wherever one goes in 2025. People still need alternatives to the fleeting trend-dominant stuff like Pinot. One whinge; when told the coffee machine was broken (fair enough - these things happen), we were given a stern 'no!' upon suggesting to table-wait guy that we could buy an after-lunch take-away coffee from the cafe down the road and bring it back. I mean, why? It's not some slippery-slope, where customers are going to descend into an ongoing BYO coffee anarchy at this pub's expense. Surely allowances could be made in such instances. Apart from coffee-tyrant-boy, staff were excellent - warm and accommodating, and from the moment we stepped in and were warmly greeted, right up to three-way bill-split and farewell time at the register as we departed, all the staff were super-nice. Thanks Mount Macedon Hotel! We'll be back.

Woodfired pizzas here are delicious!!! Friendly and fast service. Great music. Food came out in record time. Will definitely be back again.
