Mediocre food. Not seasoned enough. Salmon was ok. Bland potatoes. Tater tots were average but not tater tots. Shrimp over cooked. Fettuccine under seasoned.
This restaurant definitely exceeded my expectations! The lighting and mood was perfect. The food was fantastic and the rooftop bar was just the icing on the cake. I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice dinner in downtown Charleston!
Great staff and excellent food! Very good location from our hotel.
Food was great! Chicken and waffles were the best! The waiter wasn’t as attentive as needed. We had to ask for lots of things and didn’t know about some specials.
We have eaten at Stars over a dozen times in the past few years! Our service was exceptional but the menu has been greatly reduced and the food was inedible! All 5 of us could not eat our meals! The risotto was too sugar sweet! We will not be going back!
The food was excellent, although it took awhile for it come back. My friend was also low key solicited by another customer while we were there
We went for a Sunday brunch with the Jazz experience with a friend from out of town. It was so fun! The music was great, food was delicious, and service was fantastic! Ryan was our server and he did an awesome job. We will return for the New Orleans style brunch!
Service was great. Didn’t have pickles so they made me some with a quick pickling! The food was good, but I found a small hair in my potatoes the second she put my food down. Also asked for no bacon and a few other requests that weren’t taken care of the first time around, but that was more so the kitchen rather than our server. Decent place
Quaint restaurant in a great area of town. Service was slow especially drink orders. Made reservations for rooftop told don’t do that when we got there.
I have waited about 6 years to get into this reportedly 5 star restaurant/bar and it came heavily recommended. What a disappointment! We arrived early moderately dressed up to have cocktails on the rooftop before dinner. We had to climb numerous stairs as we were told the elevator was only for staff (we later observed EVERYONE using the elevator). On the roof top everyone was dressed casually (jeans, shorts etc) .. the drinks we brought to us promptly and they were ok. Service was only received from the bartender. After we finished our drinks, we trekked all the way back down to the hostess desk (again, we were told we were not allowed to use the elevator) We were seated first at a very tiny table for 2 that was very cramped. I requested if we could go to a larger table with more comfortable chairs and were immediately seated across from the tiny table w/o problems and had the same server. The menu was very limited in its choices. We were there for steaks as I had been told that was what STARS was known for. Our salad's were brought first. I ordered a ceasar salad. No one came to offer freshly cracked pepper. I had to stop a server (not mine as she didn't return) for some. No bread was ever brought to the table. No one came to ask if we wanted any more drinks or wine. Our main course arrived. Mine was warm to room temperature. I had ordered my steak medium rare. It arrived rare almost raw. When I told my server, she said she would be right back to take care of it but never did. I ate the edges where were slightly grissly but tolerable. The mashed potoatoes were cool and the broccolli was ok. We did not order dessert. Lastly the NOISE! OMG! The music was far from dinner music .. it was 80s hard rock and VERY loud .. so loud we could barely hear ourselves talk to one another. I looked around at other tables an noticed that their servers were more attentive to their requests. Again, dinner attire was VERY casual FAR from the dressy outfits
Had a reservation for which the restaurant was clearly not prepared. After waiting 15+ minutes we were seated right next to the DJ and blasted by the music. Again, clearly an afterthought as we were the only ones seated in this area, even though we had a reservation. Service was slow. Missed a lot of simple details like: we ordered beignets for the table and they brought a single bowl and no plates so we easily scattered powdered sugar everywhere. Coffee was not hot, frozen mimosa machine was not working. Had a combination of breakfast and burger entries and all were very good.
Absolutely awful experience. 15 minute wait with a reservation, sever less than friendly, food took over an hour to come. When the food did come it arrived cold.
Never got our food after sitting for over an hour..terrible, all they are interested in is serving the Bachelorette parties! Terrible..shouldn’t even be on open table.
It was a pleasant surprise !! Great food and nicer in the inside than it looked on the outside !! Rooftop deck was a nice extra benefit !!
Our apps got delayed but everyone was apologetic and comped for our trouble. The food was amazing! Would go again for sure
Broken cocktail glasses were served, raw chicken tenders were served (twice) to my nephew. We caught it and luckily, he did not get sick, but the chicken was completely raw in the middle. As always, the server was awesome. The menu was also not nearly as good as it used to be. Still a great spot, but has definitely gone downhill recently with food quality and menu options. We went for Easter brunch and spend a good amount of $$; won't be going back for a while.
Meal took about 45 minutes to be served, but food and drinks were good.
We had Easter brunch here. From Atlanta so pretty disappointed when 1) we were not seated on Rooftop and 2) Brunch was not a buffet. These were the only two reason I selected this restaurant for my family to enjoy our first holiday together as a family. The website is VERY unclear about these items and misleading.
Service was good and food was ok but menu was very limited since we were expecting a Buffett.
Very disappointed for the money we paid for a party of 8!
We visited for Easter and it was a fabulous meal! The Jazz music perfectly complimented the decor. The staff was great and the food was delicious.
Sunday Funday Brunch 🥳 so good!
Best Bloody Mary we’ve had in a while, awesome service. I wish we could have enjoyed jazz to a live band rather than a DJ but maybe that’s a covid thing. Great experience overall. Really enjoyed the food.
Our filets were cooked to perfection and very good. My cosmo was perfect!
Excellent service and the food was wonderful. Will come back :)
Food was ok, not terrible but nothing special. I paied $28 for a small salad, had to request dressing, and 4 boiled shrimp that had no flavor. Like having warm shrimp coktail on my salad. Bar type atmosphere is a fun vibe and was good to have late dinner reservations and then walk up to the rooftop bar, which is fun, and not have to stand in line. Would reccomend the bar, not the over priced, mediocre food.
Great service. Food was good. My companion had the filet mignon. I had the ribeye. Between the two I would recommend the filet mignon.
Waiter was kind of rude and service was a bit slow. But the food was amazing. The restaurant is beautiful. The atmosphere is super fun. Would definitely go back again!
Food was incredible! Service was amazing. We were there for brunch to celebrate an anniversary and had the best time!
Awesome food! We tried the tots and the steak, which were both phenomenal. Our server, who’s name has slipped my mind, was absolutely wonderful, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu and beer selection. He was training another server as well, who was doing very well!
Really good food and service, which was interrupted by the traffics to the rooftop bar...I would suggest creating a separate entrance for the rooftop bar.
Service was very good but the food came out much too quickly. If we hadn't slowed down our ordering, we would have been out within 30 minutes. A bottle of wine was sent to our table as a surprise by someone. The restaurant didn't bring the note that was supposed to be attached so we weren't certain who had provided it! Fortunately we guessed correctly. Food was good.
Service was very good. Roof top bar and for dinner.
One of the best brunches we’ve had in Charleston!
It took us over an hour and a half to get our food, granted it was Valentine’s Day weekend. However, the portions sizes are extremely small. Cocktails were the best part of the whole experience.
The food was delicious and drinks were great. We had great service and would return in the future.
We were there when they opened for brunch. Service was good, and were able to enjoy the meal.
We normally love Stars this time the recommendation of the Ribeye was terrible. It was so chewy and they didn’t even offer to take it off the bill. Disappointing cause I normally spend a lot money(1000.00 x 12 last year) entertaining clients so I think we will look for another place for a while.
Really enjoyed the restaurant week menu and the relaxed environment. Dinner was a great experience for my out of town friends and the wait staff was exceptional. I highly recommend the local catch if you visit!
The service and food was amazing!!! The waiter was knowledgeable and very courteous. I will be attending brunch again!
This place seems to specialize in dinner service with a rooftop bar but do not sleep on the brunch! It was delicious. The rooftop bar is nice with lots of greenery but unfortunately the view isn’t great as it is mostly other roofs you are seeing with no view directly to king below
