Was not very impressed with the brunch. The iced coffee had no ice in it and our food was just average. Wouldn’t dine here again.
Slightly disappointed only because we made the reservation for brunch for the rooftop and when we arrived we were told they don’t serve food on the rooftop. Definitely recommend editing your reservation page to reflect that. Food and service was good!
The lower level dining was nice but the music was not entertaining. The food tasted amazing thought the potatoes were a bit too salty. On the website they advertise $3 mimosas when they’re actually $6. But the rooftop was nice and open and played better music.
Great service, great food! Cool rooftop bar
The ribeye was amazing. The quail was just ok. We were all pleased with the food but it was a little pricey even for Charleston. If the price doesn’t scare you the food is good.
Robert was our waiter, he was lovely he made it right though.
Although our waitress was sweet as could be, I have to give our experience only 3 stars since we never received our food. We received our appetizers and first round of drinks with no problem but then we didn’t get our second round of drinks or our entrees after almost 45 minutes. Finally the manager came out and apologized explaining that there was a glitch with the new software they were using to take orders and our order had been deleted and was never received by the kitchen. By then it was 9:30 and we just couldn’t wait any longer as we had to leave to go pick up our kids. Stuff happens, I get it, but we were really hungry and ended up just getting a pizza on the way home instead of my filet mignon. 😔
Our waitress was a sweetheart though and it wasn’t her fault. We had our drinks and appetizer comp’d. We’re local and would try Stars again, but I hope they can get the bugs fixed with their ordering software.
Very slow service and a lot of confusion from the staff. Food was flavorful but room temp. We kept hearing “new system issues”.
My only issue is that we were seated at a window and there were two pesky flies that were in the window that kept disturbing our meal. Other than that the food was excellent and the service was great.
Went for advertised brunch,, got there the dj was blaring his audio..was supposed to be New Orleans jazz... got there at 1 pm waiting for friends... had drinks was told no buffet and handed menus.. 15 min later the staff told me kitchen was going to close at 130. Decided to leave.. too loud.. no buffet.
Tried to pay bill and barkeep couldn’t find a it staff.
We had wounderful experience in past. In fact our daughter had wedding rehearsal dinner there was great.. what happened?
We came to celebrate my boyfriends birthday! The food, the drinks, the service were all perfect! We appreciate that our sever went the extra mile to make my boyfriends birthday special. We will be returning!
It was Pretty Good, Cat the Waitress seemed like she was somewhere else the whole night. Ask for Logan she seemed to be on it!
Logan our server did a fantastic job.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Superb service
Enjoyed the food and service. The Mother’s Day breakfast was great. Steak and eggs. Great view from the roof top.
We reserved a jazz brunch. We were seated inside, no live music. I ordered the filet and it was a rough top sirloin. Bloody Mary’s were watered down. Out of Bellinis.
Love it! We will back when we move to Charleston in two weeks!
Mediocre food. Not seasoned enough. Salmon was ok. Bland potatoes. Tater tots were average but not tater tots. Shrimp over cooked. Fettuccine under seasoned.
This restaurant definitely exceeded my expectations! The lighting and mood was perfect. The food was fantastic and the rooftop bar was just the icing on the cake. I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice dinner in downtown Charleston!
Great staff and excellent food! Very good location from our hotel.
Great service just slow assuming it is due to the pandemic staffing shortage
Food was great! Chicken and waffles were the best! The waiter wasn’t as attentive as needed. We had to ask for lots of things and didn’t know about some specials.
We have eaten at Stars over a dozen times in the past few years! Our service was exceptional but the menu has been greatly reduced and the food was inedible! All 5 of us could not eat our meals! The risotto was too sugar sweet! We will not be going back!
The food was excellent, although it took awhile for it come back. My friend was also low key solicited by another customer while we were there
We went for a Sunday brunch with the Jazz experience with a friend from out of town. It was so fun! The music was great, food was delicious, and service was fantastic! Ryan was our server and he did an awesome job. We will return for the New Orleans style brunch!
Service was great. Didn’t have pickles so they made me some with a quick pickling! The food was good, but I found a small hair in my potatoes the second she put my food down. Also asked for no bacon and a few other requests that weren’t taken care of the first time around, but that was more so the kitchen rather than our server. Decent place
Quaint restaurant in a great area of town. Service was slow especially drink orders. Made reservations for rooftop told don’t do that when we got there.
I have waited about 6 years to get into this reportedly 5 star restaurant/bar and it came heavily recommended. What a disappointment! We arrived early moderately dressed up to have cocktails on the rooftop before dinner. We had to climb numerous stairs as we were told the elevator was only for staff (we later observed EVERYONE using the elevator). On the roof top everyone was dressed casually (jeans, shorts etc) .. the drinks we brought to us promptly and they were ok. Service was only received from the bartender. After we finished our drinks, we trekked all the way back down to the hostess desk (again, we were told we were not allowed to use the elevator) We were seated first at a very tiny table for 2 that was very cramped. I requested if we could go to a larger table with more comfortable chairs and were immediately seated across from the tiny table w/o problems and had the same server. The menu was very limited in its choices. We were there for steaks as I had been told that was what STARS was known for. Our salad's were brought first. I ordered a ceasar salad. No one came to offer freshly cracked pepper. I had to stop a server (not mine as she didn't return) for some. No bread was ever brought to the table. No one came to ask if we wanted any more drinks or wine. Our main course arrived. Mine was warm to room temperature. I had ordered my steak medium rare. It arrived rare almost raw. When I told my server, she said she would be right back to take care of it but never did. I ate the edges where were slightly grissly but tolerable. The mashed potoatoes were cool and the broccolli was ok. We did not order dessert. Lastly the NOISE! OMG! The music was far from dinner music .. it was 80s hard rock and VERY loud .. so loud we could barely hear ourselves talk to one another. I looked around at other tables an noticed that their servers were more attentive to their requests. Again, dinner attire was VERY casual FAR from the dressy outfits
Had a reservation for which the restaurant was clearly not prepared. After waiting 15+ minutes we were seated right next to the DJ and blasted by the music. Again, clearly an afterthought as we were the only ones seated in this area, even though we had a reservation. Service was slow. Missed a lot of simple details like: we ordered beignets for the table and they brought a single bowl and no plates so we easily scattered powdered sugar everywhere. Coffee was not hot, frozen mimosa machine was not working. Had a combination of breakfast and burger entries and all were very good.
Absolutely awful experience. 15 minute wait with a reservation, sever less than friendly, food took over an hour to come. When the food did come it arrived cold.
Never got our food after sitting for over an hour..terrible, all they are interested in is serving the Bachelorette parties! Terrible..shouldn’t even be on open table.
It was a pleasant surprise !! Great food and nicer in the inside than it looked on the outside !! Rooftop deck was a nice extra benefit !!
Our apps got delayed but everyone was apologetic and comped for our trouble. The food was amazing! Would go again for sure
Broken cocktail glasses were served, raw chicken tenders were served (twice) to my nephew. We caught it and luckily, he did not get sick, but the chicken was completely raw in the middle. As always, the server was awesome. The menu was also not nearly as good as it used to be. Still a great spot, but has definitely gone downhill recently with food quality and menu options. We went for Easter brunch and spend a good amount of $$; won't be going back for a while.
Meal took about 45 minutes to be served, but food and drinks were good.
We had Easter brunch here. From Atlanta so pretty disappointed when 1) we were not seated on Rooftop and 2) Brunch was not a buffet. These were the only two reason I selected this restaurant for my family to enjoy our first holiday together as a family. The website is VERY unclear about these items and misleading.
Service was good and food was ok but menu was very limited since we were expecting a Buffett.
Very disappointed for the money we paid for a party of 8!
We visited for Easter and it was a fabulous meal! The Jazz music perfectly complimented the decor. The staff was great and the food was delicious.
Best Bloody Mary we’ve had in a while, awesome service. I wish we could have enjoyed jazz to a live band rather than a DJ but maybe that’s a covid thing. Great experience overall. Really enjoyed the food.
Sunday Funday Brunch 🥳 so good!
