Really enjoyed the restaurant week menu and the relaxed environment. Dinner was a great experience for my out of town friends and the wait staff was exceptional. I highly recommend the local catch if you visit!
The service and food was amazing!!! The waiter was knowledgeable and very courteous. I will be attending brunch again!
This place seems to specialize in dinner service with a rooftop bar but do not sleep on the brunch! It was delicious. The rooftop bar is nice with lots of greenery but unfortunately the view isn’t great as it is mostly other roofs you are seeing with no view directly to king below
Nice place. Crowded, lively, great meals. Very Charleston.
We had our New Year's Eve dinner in Stars. Despite the pandemics guidelines, the place was very crowded and that made us very uncomfortable. The service was outstanding. The food was very good but not remarkable. Overall, I believe Stars is overpriced, not necessarily a good value for your money.
Rob from New York was awesome!
My wife and I enjoying each other, great drinks and delicious food
nice location, bushes block a lot of any view there is, drinks were very well made, staff friendly
Chris explained the menu calling out the house signature items and we were delighted with everything!
The eggs were great, the rest of the plate was cold
Reuniting with friends
Everything was ok except The service was sub par. We were Rushed out - we had a late reservation on a Friday night and our waiter was clearly ready to go home. I understand that places have closing times but our reservation was at 9 and we left by 10. Not exactly a super late night. We would have spent more money on drinks and dessert if we would have felt welcomed. There are tons of options in Charleston - I’d recommend giving somewhere else a try.
18.00 brunch burger was overpriced. The crispy bacon arrived burnt and tasteless. We requested roof top seating only to find out when we arrived that one could only get drinks on the rooftop. Our waitress was clearly not feeling well (hungover, getting over Covid?) She was apathetic and just had zero energy. Skip this place, plenty of other restaurants in Charleston to have a great brunch.
Birthday dinner. Over all always great experience. Great customer service and excellent food. Drinks always excellent
Awesome service and some of the best food in Charleston
Made reservation in order to experience the rooftop ambience but when we arrived, we were told that it was reserved for a private event. We were seated at a booth with rips and tears in the booth. Service was slow because the waiter was too busy flirting with the bachelorette party seated next to us. It took almost an hour from the time we placed order until it arrived. My wife ordered the filet which arrived cooked appropriately but cold. My grouper was good but all in all, food was over priced for value.
Reserved outdoor table but it was not available when we arrived
the food was first served cold and when we sent it back the food came back cold again and the eggs were inedible due to how undercooked they were. the waiter and manager were both very nice and accommodating. our meal was comped (but we didn’t even eat it)
The hostess was unfriendly, the waiter was not super attentive and the food was a complete disappointment. Cinnamon rolls were ice cold, the biscuits were flat and there was italian sausage in the gravy.
Restaurant is directly across from a night club. Food still left something to be desired. Good place, not great.
Amazing service and even better food. Definitely a must-see if you’re in the area.
My wife and I are in Charleston for our anniversary and because of the restaurants had no openings, we decided to give this place a try. The rooftop bar was a fun way to start the evening on a windy night. Our server Rob was incredible and made the evening super special. The quality of food was super high, but the portion sizes are pretty small for the price. Had we received a bit more food for our buck, I probably would’ve given this five stars. Great place to do something special!
Really good service, really good food; filets were amazing but that was about it. A little pricey but to be expected in downtown Charleston. Was looking for something a little more intimate but that was probably my fault. Rooftop was really fun for drinks.
Good food
Will definitely go back again.
The frozen mimosas are amazing. The burguer was perfectly cooked
During the Covid 19 crisis, the restaurant is taking every precaution. We did have to wait for food longer than we would have liked and the restaurant was low or out of several dishes. BUT I think this is to be expected while restaurants are dealing with the virus. The staff was attentive and gave us both a free round of drinks and desert samplers to make up for the wait. We were very pleased overall and look forward to going back when challenges of Covid 19 are over.
When we arrived for brunch, not one other diner in sight. Ordered the cast iron skillet cinnamon roll - which wasn’t one roll but three little ones. The rolls were way over cooked and just okay. The coffee tasted burnt. Aside from food, the staff was very friendly. Was hopeful but left disappointed.
It was wonderful ! Came for drinks and then dinner downstairs !!!! Definitely recommend coming !!
We had reservations and showed up early to enjoy a cocktail at the Rooftop bar. It was a Monday night so it wasn't crowded. The food was great!! The salads were amazing and we all shared entrees. They were great!
Wow. Wow! Wow!! Wow!!! Order the halibut and add three massive scallops for very reasonable price. One of the best meals of my life. Only thing to know is that the rooftop has no food service but no view either so sitting near the window along King Street allows for great people watching.
Terrible server, out of a part of 8 no one really enjoyed their food. It was also VERY hot inside the restaurant. Not worth what you pay for the food.
Very small portions at a very high price
Loved every minute of my experience here! We had fantastic service, with Robert as our server, the food was great & really nice atmosphere. We will be back!
Great place to eat on a weekend trip to Charleston with my wife. Service was excellent and we felt very at home. Will come back for our next visit to Charleston!
our waitress was great and so was the service. Also, loved the playlist!
This was my worst downtown Charleston experience ever. I’m getting married in a few days and my young daughters and I decided to do a little bachelorette party to celebrate.
We usually go to Halls, and made the unfortunate decision to try Stars. I tried it a few years ago and it wasn’t great then either so I should have learned my lesson.
Upon arrival the hostess just stared at us and said nothing. I finally said “I guess I’ll go first we have a reservation at 7”. No reference was made to our special occasion at all even though we included it in our reservation.
We were seated and wanted to order mocktails since my girls are underage. The server - who also made zero mention of our special evening - said they couldn’t make them because they don’t have a blender. Um...what??? What restaurant doesn’t have a blender? Ok. Moving on.
We were informed of a long list of things they were out of which was surprising given their limited menu to begin with. We went to order an appetizer and were then informed they were also out of that. I asked why they were out of everything and our server said because they were changing the menu the following week.
I wanted to leave at that point but my kids did not, so we stayed. We ordered what they had available. It was not great. For as expensive as the steak it it’s just dumped over fries in a bowl.
The food was as unimpressive as everything else. No one was nice or went out of their way to make sure we had a great evening. The kicker was that CNN was playing on most of the TVs. Yes please let everyone watch the coronavirus news as we’re trying to enjoy an evening out. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough.
The restaurant was empty and I watched them turn away lots of big parties of people at the door. Idk what’s going on at this place but I will never be back.
Disappointed that there was no eating on the rooftop. They were out of lobster and lamb. I ordered steak and frites - would have been delicious but the peppercorns were very overwhelming and I love pepper.
First, it smelled like dirty mop water and then there were gnats and flies flying around the table the whole time we were there. Our food came out quick but I imagine that was because we were only one of 4 tables in the restaurant. Service was good but the food definitely wasn’t worth the money. We both had the steak frites which we ordered medium well. It wasn’t even cooked medium rare. The fries were soggy and the “sauce” was more of a gravy that the steak was smothered in. Food and atmosphere might be better during normal circumstances but it wasn’t hitting on much this time.
Not do great service from server and manager.
I wouldn’t know I had a reservation and 2 hours before I got a text that they closed to clean. So for our anniversary night we didn’t have reservations anymore and no where to eat all nice places were booked
