Great food and service. When I made the reservation on open table I wish i would have known that there was no food on the rooftop. we would have come early and had a drink up there before dinner
Did Sunday Brunch, got to brunch 45 minutes before end, food was definitely not fresh or tasty.
The quality of the food on the buffet was the worse I’ve eaten in the city. The service level was nonexistent, the hostess was not interested in seating us, the waiter couldn’t hear to take our orders the way our table was arranged. We had a party of 6 for a birthday celebration and was embarrassed to have invited them as our guests. Seating 6 in a booth for a buffet is ludicrous because it’s difficult to get out without people having to get up to go to the buffet. Just a really bad experience that I would recommend to anyone.
This was our first time @ Stars, and we went for the Sunday Brunch. My only complaint was that champagne was not offered like the mimosas! Food and service were good, and the price is competitive.
Our waitress was very nice. We ordered a bottle of wine. We swatted gnats and fruit flies the entire time we were there. We ordered our meal the prime rib and mashed potatoes were so salty we sent it back. They replaced potato with rice that was tasty but steak still salty. The manager never came to our table to discuss our concerns. Will definitely not go back to Stars
My wife and I have been to Stars before, but it has been a couple of years. The restaurant has totally changed, and not for the better. It is noisy, service is slow and the atmosphere seemed to be more of a bar, than a high end restaurant. We were seated at a tiny table right next to the bar, and when we requested to be move we were told, "sorry, but all our tables are booked up" even though there were numerous empty tables surrounding us for a while. I was also disappointed to learn that they did not have local grass-fed beef anymore. The one saving grace was that the food was good. If the food was not as good as it was, I would probably have rated this restaurant one star.
Best steak we have ever had!! Made our honeymoon that much better!
Food was good, service was not
Birthday dinner. Very accommodating. Great food, service, atmosphere. 10 stars
After reading other reviews I think I expected a little bit more from this place..not bad but not the best food we’ve had here by any means. The service was good but the food took forever to come out and our waiter was one of the only ones inside so he was spread pretty thin. Overall I’d say it was good, not great.
The food was quite good and our server Sullivan was excellent...friendly and helpful. The only issue on this particular night was that they had a fruit fly issue. And the roof top bar afterwards was refreshing.
From beginning to end, everything was absolutely delicious! We couldn’t choose which was our favorite - the dishes were all that good. The cocktail of the night, Euphoria on the rocks, my new favorite. Raymond even went so far as to sing for us! He was attentive, knowledgeable and such a gentleman! Thank you to Raymond for making our special occasion that much better!
Wonderful service from Eric. The food and presentation is excellent and they have absolutely fantastic cocktails. This is our third time at Stars and we’ve never been disappointed. The bartenders are top notch as are all of the staff we’ve encountered.
The food was outstanding and the service from Robert was amazing. The rib-eye I ordered was cooked to perfection and my quests food was also cooked to perfection. Robert our server was so knowledgeable about the food they prepared that I felt comfortable ordering any one of the Entrees. This is must go to restaurant when in Charleston.
This was one of my favorite brunch spots to go to. But this time, it was not great. Seems like they cut down on the quality of food. Also, A lot of the food ran out and took a long time to refill. All of the dessert ran out and never got refilled. It was not even that busy and we came 2 hours before closing. Was not impressed at all and I could have spent that money elsewhere.
This restaurant was absolutely the best restaurant I have been to in a long time. The food was amazing. We expected our food to take longer because it was such a nice restaurant. We really didn't think the wait was that long but the restaurant did and they brought us a complimentary glass of champagne to make up for it. Best experience so far.
It was a great night and it was a great time for restaurant week as stars roof top restaurant. The only thing I have to say that really annoyed us and our mood was that there was a mosquito that was trying to bite us and a couple of knats kept on flying around the room, but besides that everything was wonderful.
We think the service was perfect and no changes were needed in that aspect. As for the food, we agreed the restaurant menu was a great deal for the amount we received, but we just thought the overall taste was a 3 - 3.5stars. Our favorite meal were the desserts, so whoever the Pastry Chef is gets a thumbs up!
Calamari and bacon fries were delicious. Our surf and turf and scallops, though, were bland. For the price, we expected a better meal.
There isn’t much of a view on the rooftop bar. Bushes are too tall to see much and the flies made it a less than ideal experience.
The service was very good and while a bit on the noisy side, the ambiance overall was nice.
Service was not great. Drink order wrong and no dinner served until after 2 hours of being there. Food left much to be desired. Crudo was warm and their were more inedible flowers floating in it than actual seafood. We were quite disappointed.
We reserved a table for a group of 15 at 5:45 pm. We arrived at a long table near the window with a long bench for 1/2 of the party. Everyone was seated and ready to order by 6:00. Long story short we did not receive our food until 7:30 pm. Many of the dinners were cold. The food was mediocre for the price. Finally, when we were ready to leave the server would not split the bill. There is no policy regarding NOT splitting large party bills either in the booking process, confirmation, or explained to us when we ordered. In this day of high tech how hard can that be? Overall a very disappointing experience and I will NOT be going back to or recommending Stars restaurant to anyone.
In my experience they should change their name to STAR and remove the S because they certainly did not deserve any more than that from our experience.
Stars was an overall fantastic dining experience! Our waiter went out of his way to offer us suggestions, specifically entrees locate to Charleston. Highly recommend the seafood grits!! Also, a great spot for groups as they had a lot of circle booths!
Good food, clean building. The food was slow in coming out but we had company with us and had a couple of drinks while waiting. Took a little longer then we like, sat down at 7:15 but didn't leave until 10:00
Best Sunday brunch in Charleston! I will definitely go again and recommend.
Great place for dinner. Definitely will return. Tell Sullivan thanks for the special dessert it was the best.
A younger group was celebrating, and as expected... they were super loud!! We eat here every time we are in town..Excellent as usual
This place was not at all as t looked on line. Definitely don’t think the buffet is worth $25 and it the mimosas were flat. Not impressed at all.
Bachelorette party ♥️
Food was very tasty, well seasoned and excellent service
It was too loud and they said they had our table ready and 5 minutes later they sit us at this little table right on top of another couple. We left!
The rooftop was tight and had a limited view of the city. Too many shrubs around the rooftop.
Our waiter, Eric, was personable and professional. Since it was our first time visiting Charleston, Eric took the time to share some of his favorite places for us to check out. Thank you!
Accommodated are large group. The lobster pasta was amazing!
the food had no flavor and extremely over priced. I paid $36 for a lobster pasta that I could have made myself with even more flavor.
My dinner at Stars was average. Food and service were both ok, but nothing special. Had a vegetarian in my group who asked if there was meat in the shrimp and grits gravy and the waiter told her there wasn't, but when she tried her meal there was andouille sausage in the gravy. I had the Salmon which was good and my other friend had the burger which was also fine - nothing to rave about.
Raymond was our waiter and he made our experience exceptional. His attitude and charisma was unmatched. He was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks and went above and beyond to give us a great night. The food was wonderful, it was a beautiful space, and we had a lovely time celebrating our bachelorette.
We went here with a large group of girls on a Friday night and were so pleased with our experience. Our server was outstanding and the food was delicious. We also went out to the rooftop bar that had a great ambiance. Would definitely return here again. Thank you!
We made reservation for rooftop but it was not available due to a private party
Our server was incredible and really made it a special occasion! We will absolutely be back. Thanks!!
Steak was over seasoned
