I loved everything about this place; food, service, ambiance. The ONLY complaint I have is how hot it was in the room with the fireplace. Way, way too hot. It made the evening uncomfortable.
We had a great dinner at Starry Night a few weeks post-wedding. The food was incredible, but we were seated in the bar area, which was pretty loud. I think in the other part of the restaurant it's a bit quieter and geared toward a more mellow ambiance, however, the meal and service was great and the Fableist Pinot Noir was amazing.
Service was friendly and professional. The meal was very relaxed and we never felt rushed or neglected. Our food was hot, delicious, and well presented. We will definitely come back for another special occasion.
Always a special treat
Great food + service
Great food and great ambience. Don't have to talk loud to be heard. Great for all ages except is a bit pricy but worth It. Fun to dress up and is a nice place so with casual clothes you might stand out.
Great food consistently
Perfect food and outstanding service
Such a cozy spot! Almost felt like we were in someone’s home. The decor, the service, the food, the drinks-all exceeded our expectations. Thank you for a lovely night
Starry Night is without question the best restaurant in the Burlington area (less than a 1/2 hour south of Burlington). It is one of the top restaurants in New England. Chef Josh Krechel is awesome, pairing subtle flavors with local and organic ingredients. The service, led by Manager Amanda Seubert, is impeccable appropriately attentive, welcoming and very accommodating to all needs. Excellent wine list along with craft beer selection and a full bar always including handcrafted seasonal cocktails. I have never had anything less than a terrific dinner always enjoying the local bounty of fresh ingredients. Definitely worth a trip to this exquisite little gem.
Always a pleasant experience.
Service was exquisite. We both had a duck special, and it was well prepared and plated beautifully. I highly recommend this jewel of a restaurant.
The food was good. However, the service was particularly bad. Our server did not check on us at all after the food runner brought our dinner. We were looking to order drinks, water etc - didn't see her until we were done with our dinner for a while. Based on this, we probably won't return - even though we live pretty close.
Amazing food and atmosphere. The Pumpkin creme brulee was fantastic! We will be returning very soon!
The beet salad was amazing and the octopus app. was shockingly tender and so flavorful. The service was outstanding. When we go out to eat, nothing is more frustrating then feeling as though you could have done a better job yourself...that was not the case here. Fantastic!
After putting off our first dinner at Starry Night I was sorry that we waited so long. The atmosphere, the food, the friendliness of the staff, the great cocktails all made this a memorable and soon to be repeated experience. All three of us loved the experience and agreed.
The Starry Night Cafe did not disappoint. The service was top notch. The food and drink were exceptional. It is a perfect place for a special occasion. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Have dined at Starry Night many times and it never disappoints. Wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion. A leisurely dinner that allows you time to enjoy your company
Thank you for the wonderful service, food and experience!
I had a lovely dinner with my son in the room with the fireplace. Our dinner was excellent and the service very good. Next to us was a couple on a date and a table full of people clearly having a nice family celebration. From what I could tell all three different parties were having a lovely meal together.
Great all around as always!
Calamari was exceptional-service was too. Fried chicken fantastic
Delicious food and drinks, and great service -- my parents and I enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, and loved every bite!
Love starry night. Great atmosphere. Great drinks. Great food. Great staff.
Starry Night floors us every time with exceptional ingredients, flavor combinations, and perfectly cooked dishes, as well as top notch servers and a warm, comfortable ambiance.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant but with one caveat. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was great. The decor wonderful. The rear dining room, absolutely deafening. There were two rowdy groups back there with us and a few other 2-3 people parties. The rowdy groups were yelling and once literally screaming to the point where we held our ears. The acoustics of the room seemed to amplify the sound excessively. We often exchanged “can you even believe this” looks with the other diners. We had to yell at each other at our table just to have a basic conversation. When leaving we walked through the front dining room and it was so quiet in there that our hearing felt muffled by acoustic trauma. It truly was ridiculous. So, definitely eat here. Absolutely refuse to be seated in the back room.
Tasty food but took forever for it to get out of kitchen — went from a dining experience to a waiting experience as others in the same room who arrived after us got served before we did. Even though I indicated in two different places that it was our anniversary, it was in no visible way acknowledged. We did get a gorgeous table in the three season room but it was adjacent to a party with a young child. This is our go-to place in the neighborhood for special meals but they really didn’t have their restaurant management game aligned with the price tag on this particular visit.
A mainstay in a remote section of Route 7 between Burlington and Middlebury. Great food that’s seasonal farm to table, service this particular time seemed overwhelmed but I’ll return again for the inventive, fresh well presented and delicious cuisine.
Assuming you get a table with a view...the view is phenomenal, especially in the Fall. Food is excellent. WIll definitely return.
Always enjoy our dinners at Starry Night. Nice ambiance , friendly and knowledgeable staff along with excellent food and wine
When I requested a quiet corner to celebrate an anniversary, I would have thought we’d be placed in the cozy room with the fireplace.( at the time we arrived there was only one couple in that room). Instead we were set in the main dining area next to a group of 4-6 people.
We were taking out of town family members to dinner and had a wonderful evening...great food and excellent service!
As always the quality of the food and the presentation were excellent. Great cocktails, apps, salads, and main course. The service was fantastic from the moment we arrived. We sat near a fairly large and loud party, but that did not diminish from our enjoyment of the evening. We love and highly recommended Starry Night.
This restaurant was recommended to us upon request from a shop owner in Shelburne and it was incredible. The waitstaff was friendly and enthusiastic, the ambience is great for a small group or a night out for a date, and the food was some of the best we’ve ever had. Fresh ingredients, perfectly sized portions, creative recipes, and fantastic flavor. Highly recommend.
Delicious! This is one of our favorite spots! Amazing cocktails too!
May I suggest that you have a two-story front placed to give
the impression of something special?
I will bring an idea next time by using PHOTOSHOP.
You can reject it diplomatically.
We had the vegetarian risotto and the veal special. Both were excellent. They brought us a cake with a candle in it to celebrate our anniversary. We really like our waitress. She did a great job was was personable and casual too.
Great atmosphere and flowers around the restaurant. Food was good. The octopus could of been more plentiful for the price. Great desert. Service was good too. Overall I will come back but they could work on the value equation. More great food or less price.
Always consistently good
One of our favorites
The Apple. Crisp left a little to be desired
Every thing was very nice, tasty and well served. The noise level in the dining room we were in made it very difficult for us elderly folk who depend on hearing aids and need less clattering noise and/or music. If you could find a way to absorb some of the sounds it would make the experience more restful and enjoyable.
