Star Noodle, located in Lahaina, Hawaii, serves a variety of Asian specialty dishes as well as noodle dishes made with handmade noodles daily. The restaurant offers takeout services as well as catering for offsite events if needed. Star Noodles extensive menu and casual atmosphere make it a family-friendly spot for lunch or dinner.
Share the pohole salad or the roasted mushrooms to start out your meal at Star Noodle. Choose from noodle dishes like the udon, the kim chee ramen or the pad Thai. If youre not in the mood for noodles, try the steamed pork buns or the Vietnamese crepes. To top off your experience, try one of the restaurants desserts like the mango pudding.
A wonderful, consistent, reliable spot that is another can't miss while on the island, hidden out in an industrial area on the eastend of Lahaina. Yes, it's worth driving to, even an afternoon drive from Wailea. Originally Sheldon Simeon's claim to fame, the owners have continued on to make Star Noodle a foodie destination and keep delivering the *best* food. They make amazing drinks, with some great and creative originals. As simple as I can say is go, *MAKE A RESERVATION*, or show up *really* early. The wait can be over an hour. These are our favorites. Without any negativity, I can say that I wasn't too hot on their ramen, the time I tried it, but I may have been spoiled. However, there's enough on that menu, that you won't have a hard time having one of the best meals of your vacation:
Vietnamese Crepe – Shrimp, Pork, Bean Sprouts, Nuoc Cham
Steamed Pork Buns – Duroc Pressed Pork, House Hoisin, Namasu
Filipino “Bacon & Eggs” – Crispy Pork, Poached Egg, Tomato, Onion
Ahi Avo – With Lemon Pressed Olive Oil, Sambal, Usukuchi
Garlic Noodles – Fresh & Fried Garlic, Dashi, Green Onion
Singapore Noodles – Vermicelli, Chicken, Shrimp, Vegetables
So unbelievably good; staff is super informed, and portions are generous; love the ability to get half portions to taste around menu. Quick turn around for food. Would come back in a heart beat.
Good food and good service. Nothing was outstanding but all was good. Save room for desert
This is a very popular restaurant and previously when I dined at Star Noodle they did not take reservations and I waited over an hour for a table so when I saw they were on Open Table I was thrilled because it meant I didn't have to wait in line. Unfortunately this was not the case we had to wait over 40 minutes for a table we had reserved. When we finally got our table the hostess was apologetic and offered us free dessert which was very yummy. I can understand waiting 10-15 minutes for a reservation but anything over 30 minutes is ridiculous. Knowing this it makes me think twice of going back
Just another memorable dinner with you guys this year. I think we have tried just about everything on the menu since we have been coming probably since you opened. From the appetizers to the malasada desert...all is served with enthusiasm and pride.....
keep it up !!!
This is a must visit in West Maui. Without Open table, the wait can be 1h + every night. We made this reservation about 3 weeks in advance. This really is the gem. Where can you find this great of food at $10-12 dollar range on Maui? Answer Star Noodles only. We were on a kayak/snorkel trip and the guide said the locals order take out from there all the time. We have gone to Star Noodle 7-8 times and have never been disappointed.
We live in an area where we can get excellent, authentic Asian food from Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese to Filipino. In comparison, Star Noodle is ok, not great. I would not recommend the ramen, garlic noodles or the Kalbi. The Kalbi is nothing like true Korean BBQ. We did, however enjoy the pork buns and Filipino bacon and eggs. I'd say if your used to excellent Asian food, it probably won't live up to your expectations. However, most tourists may not have access to authentic Asian food and may really enjoy it.
I hate to tell people how good the food is, because there is always a huge wait to get a table.
Star Noodle is one of the places that you need to go to at least once just to experience the amazing food. It's in an odd location, no view, no outdoor seating, and is in an industrial area of Lahaina but it has some of the best food on the island! We had the Vietnamese Crepe and the Singapore Noodles which were both fantastic. I look forward to going next time we're in Maui!
We let our server Zane order for us. Great food, great service, great choices
Food was good, not great. Some unusual flavors and combinations. Some smells from dishes that were served to other tables were off-putting.
Best noodles on the island with great Japanese beer too!
Star Noodle is the best! We loved the udon noodles and Singapore noodles!
We ended up ordering food to go, instead of waiting a few days for a reservation. They were crazy busy! The food was ready when we arrived and we got everything we ordered. It was still delicious when we got it back to our condo. The garlic noodles were everyone's favorite. But the pad Thai and ribs were awesome too. It was a great restaurant and the cocktail menu looked great too. We will definitely dine in on a future visit.
Everything is always terrific at Star Noodle!
