Great food. Great service as usual. Definitely will return.
WE HAD A GREAT WAITRESS. OUTSTANDING SERVICE.
FOOD WAS EXCELLENT
THE MUSIC WAS TOO LOUD. ASKED ONCE TO BE REDUCED, WHICH WAS REDUCED, BUT WENT RIGHT BACK UP ESPECIALLY AS THE RESTAURANT WAS GETTING FILLED OUT AND NOISY-ER.
DON'T RESTAURANT NOT UNDERSTAND THAT PEOPLE WHO GET TOGETHER WANT TO VISIT AND NOT TRY TO STRUGGLE TO MAKE THEMSELVES HEARD.
Great menu diversity and selection. Excellent food preparation. Fabulous service. Prices were right in the "Goldilocks" range; not too pricey and a good value.
Wasn’t there best night, had better there. Flan was too cold and too hard on top, all vegetables were slightly over cooked. Bread in onion soup was burnt, lobsters were good.
Everything was perfect!!! The setting is beautiful, food is always impeccable!!
To much bread in French Onion Soup & didn't care for the rye bread they used in it. Lobster mac & cheese had great flavor but lobster was slightly over cooked.
Awesome food! The best creme Brulee ever!
Had asked for a window seat for father’s 70th. They were super busy so it did not happen. Great server! Great food! I had the Seafood Louie and it was missing the prawns. Didn’t realize until later. Still delicious.
Our server was awsome. Tiffany.
We were there celebrating a late family Christmas dinner.
My only complain is it got very loud. We were opposite the windows. kinda in that back area where the larger party’s sit.
Waiter was great but just to many tables for him to focus on our table.
The food was excellent and the service was great. Everyone was nice and polite. Great experience!
Very crowded. Reservations for 5:15, seated mat 5:40, then waited for 10 minutes at our table before anyone acknowledged us. Mask mandate not enforced in crowded lobby.
70th birthday day celebration! Wait staff was great!
Our server went above and beyond our expectations. Being the first time our family has been there it was an awesome experience.
Food quality for this higher price point restaurant is disappointing. Seafood portion was on the small size. View is ok, but mostly blocked by high hedge in lower parking lot. Restaurant seemed to be short on staff and bathrooms needing updating and reqular checks for paper goods. Location is not the easiest to get to and from.
Amazing food!! Great service!
Even with reservations, we had to wait more than 10 minutes for our table.
Delicious food and drinks! Best view of Tacoma at night!
The food was great, the waiter was great. Just disappointed when I made a reservation got there early, had to wait 15 min. Then didn’t get the window table I asked for.
23rd Anniversary dinner could not have been better! Outstanding food, service, view, wow! Great Job S&S!
We had a wonderful evening! The service was wonderful and the food was amazing!!! I love coming here!
This is a tough review to write. My daughter and I were visiting Tacoma for a few nights and I stumbled upon Stanley & Seaforts nearby the hotel we were staying in. We were seated at the window overlooking the city. The ambiance was beautiful. We ordered the wedge salad to start off with and the rigatoni bolognese as our entrée. The food was phenomenal and the service was also excellent. I received my bill and paid in cash including a 20% tip. I belong to Landry's Select Club so I placed my reward card with the cash so that I would receive points for our dinner. It wasn't until the next day that I decided to look at my bill again and things just weren't making sense so I called the restaurant. Apparently I had a $25 credit from Landry's that was used in the transaction. The server, whom I won't name out of respect, basically pocketed that $25 PLUS my 20% tip. The manager agreed she would give me back the $25 in cash and reassured me that the server was written up. I am disappointed as to how this transaction was handled. I felt cheated. This isn't the kind of restaurant I am personally able to dine in on a regular basis. It was a treat to take my daughter. I felt the server took advantage of me. I also felt that while the manager tried to make things right by returning my $25, I felt she should have also returned my 20% tip that the server walked away with. Or at the very least, offer a credit to come back and dine with Stanley & Seaforts. It was disappointing that instead the manager made me feel bad that this server was written up and could potentially lose her job for mishandling cash. The emphasis should have been more on the fact that someone stole from me. Times are tough. Everyone has a story. And I have mine. I wish I could write a better review because the food was excellent and all of the other employees at Stanley & Seaforts don't deserve a bad review. But I am very unhappy as to how my evening transpired.
Both of us has pasta dishes this time around and both were wonderful. Seriously, anything on the menu here is outstanding! Make a reservation, you won't be disappointed. Oh, and the view at nighttime is fantastic!
It was a good night to be at Stanley & Seafort’s, my wife and I had a fantastic night. The food and drinks were good and the service was exceptional.
We had a wonderful meal, only downside was that my steak was to be served with a side of asparagus, received green bean instead and was not told beforehand. Drinks were well made.
EXCELLENT in every way. Although the table we sat at was right next to the kitchen and it was loud. Esoecially when someone dropped a bunch of dishes accidentally and they broke all over the floor. It's never happened before. It was very busy on New Years Day. We should have selected a different table. Over all, our favorite RESTAURANT!! Exceptional in every way!!
Kids menu was not too bad and the kids had plenty of food. I didn’t think the adult portions were too bad for the price. It is defiantly a place of more an adult atmosphere. Great for a date night with someone special.
These days, you need to make allowances for staffing issues and I fully understand that. We had an early reservation and still waited 25 minutes to be sat. They were out of burgers at 5pm! View is great. Waitress was attentive. French onion soup was so salty it was inedible. Appetizers were ok. My wife’s filet was way over cooked. Mac and cheese was the best thing we ordered, which is kind of sad. Will not go back.
We ate their last week and food was good. Last night the food was terrible. French union soap was so salty you could not eat it. The seafood Louie had shrimp so over cooked it was hard, two. The crab was fine shredded and so small an amount. It tasted canned. The two asparagus were terrible. How can anyone screw up a $32 salad that bad. For over three decades I have entertained hundreds of clients at that restaurant. It use to be the restaurant of choice. The view and location is outstanding but the last couple years you can get a great meal one night and sorry you ever chose to go there the next.
If you are out of edge salad just say so, don't try to pass off a hunk of romaine missing half of the expected ingredients. Yes they took it off the bill but it was just yucky to have to ask.
First time visit for wedding anniversary dinner. The view at night is amazing and the ambiance is excellent. Unfortunately our special occasion reservation request was not honored. We requested a window seat and explained it was our anniversary and our 1st time to Stanley's. I know they received the request, because the hostess wished us a happy anniversary when we checked in. There are 5 rows of tables, with the 1st row being along the window. We were seated in the 5th row, furthest from the windows. Very disappointing. However the service was very good, as was the food. My wife said it was the best filet she had ever had. I had the almond crusted scallops which were good, but didn't knock my socks off. We were unable to order a baked potato, as they were sold out. The mashed potato was tasty though. Onion soup was dynamite, as was my wife's salad. Bread plate was just ok. Prices were quite reasonable. All in all it was very enjoyable, and we'd probably (?) go again.
We had a 6 pm reservation - so early in the dinner service. Yet they had a laundry list of food they were out of. They didn’t have enough glassware, cocktails, or even the items on their special New Year’s Eve dinner menu. We were seated for over 20 minutes before getting a drink. After finding something good on the menu, I was surprised when my plate arrived without the main thing I ordered the dish for. The server says they have been out of that item for 2 hrs. She then offers to send the manager over. When the manager comes , not wearing an appropriate mask by the way, she cops a nasty attitude. I told her I didn’t even ask for her. I didn’t eat my dinner and the ticket for one meal and some drinks was still $120. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
We have loved Stanley & Seaforts for years. But it’s clearly been YEARS since they’ve done anything to update the interior or menu. The bathrooms in particular are ridiculously rundown, with paint peeling from the metal, dripping and chipped sinks. And WHY is it so freaking COLD inside??? Everyone around us had their coats on. Sadly not sure we’ll be back, though the view is still fantastic.
We have gone to Stanley & Seafort's every year and some in between. I had to give some two stars due to the fact the food was only fair. Our server was outstanding. I would not order the three appetizers we had. They were either overcooked or undercooked. The steak was good but not worth the price for its quality. Side dishes which came with the steak were asparagus and fingerling potatoes were extremely overcooked and not edible. The swordfish was even worse. I realize it was New Years' night, but I have never had food that was of this poor quality at this restaurant. I will choose another location for next New Year 2022. I am sorry I am unable to give a better review as I have always loved Stanley & Seaforts, but this year was a not a good experience for such a wonderful, exciting night with my husband, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. At this time, I am unable to recommend to any of my friends.
First time here for NYE dinner, overall impressed with the food we ordered. I had two lemon drops- inconsistent with the amount of cocktail from the first one I ordered to the second, brought it up to our server who sent over a manager (didn't think this was necessary) we explained the "problem" to her and she blamed a jigger pour to be the lack of cocktail in our second drink? Which didn't make sense to us.. but she said she would go "fix the problem" came back to my same drink poured into a martini glass that was originally in a rocks glass to try and make it look like there was more to it.. Found that odd. Service was pretty slow, blamed that on how busy they were and maybe that our server was new.. Said there was 4 scallops and 6 shrimp on the side order when we got our food there was only 3 scallops and 4 shrimp.. Recommend they make sure their staff is trained up on the menu specs
New Year Celebration
I’ve wanted to come here for over 20 years and so looked forward to it. Celebrated New Year’s Eve and daughters 19th bday. My grilled seafood plate was pretty bad. Scallops had consistency of soft plastic, salmon and shrimp over cooked as well as green beans, was just bad. My daughters crab Louis salad was ok but forgettable. My husbands rib eye was fantastic. Very much lacking veggie amount however. May be another 20 years before returning sadly.
Quick, friendly, tasty all you’d want. Clean places and clean staff.
Interior was rundown. In great need of an upgrade. Interior temperature was way too cold, saw guests and staff wearing coats inside.
The ambiance is great but the service and the food are just ordinary. It’s good, but it has so much potential to be great.
