We had an excellent dinner for our 19th Anniversary. We had the teriyaki tenderloin appetizer, and that was amazing! I would have had that as a meal because it was so good! My husband had a yummy steak with fingerling potatoes that were super good. I had the chicken tortellini with pesto sauce and that was super good, too. Then for dessert we had the New York Cheesecake with raspberry sauce. We haven't been here in awhile but we'll certainly be back...very happy with our meal!
Food was good as well as service. Good views. The facility was tired and needed updating. There was a funky odor as soon as you enter.
Great views of the city. Pretty unique vantage points. Service was fantastic and the food was very good.
After 30 years, I'm probably done dining here. Worst experience of all time. They've been going downhill for a while . . . They've reached bottom.
The food was absolutely amazing. Our waiter was very attentive, fast, and had the best service. I will definitely be coming back and will recommend to others.
It was a set menu for Father's day! I got the salmon which was good but the side was not good, the Seafood Louie looked like it was pre-made with a lot of lettuce, the Prime rib was tough and fatty, and the short ribs tasted like roast. Not much to rave about accept the view.
Our waitress was fabulous. So polite and professional. Our view was great and the food was great!
The Father's Day Sunday brunch was not worth the price. We have been very satisfied with their dinner and appetizers so were surprised that the quality was not the same.
We were celebrating Father’s Day. And I had a fabulous food and a wonderful time
We went here to celebrate our son's H.S. graduation and LOVED this place. The view was breathtaking and the food was DELICIOUS. Lelani (hope I spelled her name correctly) was our waitress and she was AWESOME - professional, kind and very attentive. Can't wait to visit again. Thank you for your GREAT service.
The staff were attentive to our (youthful) guest of honor. the table service was very good. The meal itself was good, but not what we'd come to expect here. Not that warm.
The noise level was more appropriate fro one of those sports bars.
I had a wonderful re-visit after 10 years of being away. Little has changed which is perfect. The taste of the food was flavorful, and delightful.
Will be returning!
The service was impeccable. We celebrated my birthday & ordered from early dining menu. The pea salad & chowder was tasty. The waygu sirloin was superb...better than any filet mignon. The potato cake & beans on side were delicious! Very nice atmosphere in addiction to wonderful service and delicious food!
Making a reservation was easy. We were seated promptly with a great view. The food was excellent, prepared just as we requested. Service was excellent. Watchful for any need you had, but not hovering.
Excellent steaks, perfectly prepared salmon, usually cold beer. Very fine service by Michael.
The food was good. My husband ordered the halibut which was good, but we had much better Halibut at another restaurant. I ordered the prime rib which was good, but the meat was pretty tough for prime meat. Overall the food was just average. The view was amazing and the service was pretty good. Prices were high and food wasn’t worth the price.
Went for our 23rd anniversary, surprised with complimentary dessert. Waitress Jessica was fabulous.
The meals were very good and the wait staff was very attentive. We were set in the last window seat which is framed out and blocked most of my view. The calamari was pretty breaded and just okay. The steaks and dessert were quite delicious though. The room had a nice feel, but was slightly musty. The advertised valet parking was not available when we went, which was slightly frustrating. Overall, a pretty good experience.
Our wait from ordering drinks & then our food was wayyyy too long! They only had a few tables to care for.
Eggs Benedict, 1egg soft the other hard on 2 orders! Waitress brought wrong order but did replace it, more waiting!
Nothing to write home about, disappointed!
This visit was far better than the last two experiences there
We always have enjoyed our experiences at Stanley’s and today was no different!
The food was pretty good, service was excellent. However the restaurant really needs a make over, and the bathrooms were service station dirty!
I’m a member with Restaurants Unlimited for Stanley and Seaforts and had gotten an email flier for a $60 date night. It seemed like a killer deal: each person gets either a starter salad or soup (the day we went was lobster bisque), an entree (choice from 4), a dessert to split (choice from 2) and a whole bottle of wine! We went with another couple, one of which are gluten free for serious health concerns. Stanley’s staff was knowledgeable about what dishes contained gluten and actually brought gluten free chips to the table for them in lieu of the bread the rest of us were given. In addition to the rest service, we got a great seat next to the window with a great overlooking view of Tacoma and the sound.
Another excellent special occasion dinner (33rd anniversary). Great food, exceptional service. They always make you feel special.
Absolutely wonderful! Love the view and the food is FANTASTIC!! Service is perfect!
Our waiter was inattentive, and lacking interest. The food was just ok. The vegetables were not cooked enough, very hard, we didn’t eat them. The scallops were over cooked, and mushy. The fish was just ok. Overall a poor meal for the money.
The view is great. Drinks are good. The food wasn’t terrible, but it’s nothing special. The recipes feel dated. The steak bites tasted like there is a lot of corn starch and sugar - made the way people used to think Asian food should taste. My husband’s prime rib had no salt on it. The last time we went the halibut cheeks were way over cooked and chewy. The waitress did a nice job though helping us with that by firing up a new one and the second time they were better. The shrimp was over cooked. The crab dip was oily and gross. Every time I go there, the food is not seasoned properly, either too much or not enough seasoning, needs finesse. We will not be back until major changes happen, but I’m sure this giant corporation with numerous restaurants in different states just doesn’t care enough to elevate the cuisine at this location. It’s a shame because it has potential to be great, but it’s just not.
Great all the way around!
We celebrated our wedding anniversary there and the staff was most congenial to our needs and for our enjoyment. It made the anniversary even more memorable.
Great food and service. It was our Wedding anniversary and
they made us feel very special. We will return. Their speciality drinks are to die for.
Stanley & Seaforth always impresses me with the view, the comfortable atmosphere and the food. We had the early dinner special menu and the fresh fish selection was an awesome steelhead filler! Their offerings are tremendous!
I have been curious to try this place for quite sometime now. Now, I kind of wish we never went. The restaurant itself was not bad. It had an old saloon feel, which I expected since it's located in Tacoma. Their menu offering looked amazing. But, don't let that fool you. The food itself was mediocre. We ordered a little bit of everything, and were left disappointed with each dish. From the over cooked calamari, to the weird pairing of macadamia crusted brie cheese with balsamic vinegar drizzles (it tasted terrible!), which they served some sort of spread (which I actually liked, the only thing I liked). Then comes the main entrees. We ordered seafood fettuccine, which had very rubbery, over cooked shrimps, I will say the scallop in the same dish was cooked to perfection. The only thing I ate on that plate. The other food we ordered and I was super excited about was the Halibut with pancetta risotto. First of all, risotto was NOT RISOTTO! It was long grained rice that was left to cook in some sort a liquid. It was dry, mushy and bland. And the pancetta used had a weird taste to it. I took 1 bite & didn't bother taking a secondary bite. Now lets talk about the halibut, the moment they set the plate down I immediately noticed the it appeared over cooked and dry. I wasn't wrong ! As I suspected from my initial glance of the plate, the halibut was sure indeed over cooked and SUPER DRY! Not flaky at all. It was seasoned well, which is a shame cuz it could have been a phenomenal dish, had it been prepared correctly. It was just as over cooked and dry as the shrimp in the pasta dish. It became very rubbery to chew and unappetizing to eat. Moving on......I had to use the restroom, and so did my husband and we both walked out of the restroom as soon as we entered. They were dirty, with newspaper thrown all over the floor, as to help absorb liquid. Lets just say I would not be returning nor would I ever recommend this place to any one I know.
Very good food, but quite noisy if you want a romantic evening. The venue itself certainly could be romantic, ambiance is wonderful. View is awesome and service was good, but quite slow. To be fair, the place was packed, perhaps unexpectedly since we were there on a week night.
The atmosphere is beautiful the food is beyond delicious and it is just the best place to be either day or night for a relaxing meal to remember
This is the second time in 2 weeks that my neighbor and I have eaten here. The food and atmosphere is wonderful, but just like last time, the service was poor. We were put at a tiny table in a corner. Sort of strange since we had reservations and it was for early dining. Hardly anyone was there yet. The other bummer is that our waiter put our main entree on the table before we were done with our salads. Remember the table is tiny, so now there is no room to even move for fear you might knock something on the floor. I could go on...but I won’t. Just poor, poor service!
After going to Stanley's for many, many, many years it has changed drastically. The first time I was there was in the 70's with friends from work. We have been there several times since then with family and friends, and always loved going there. And the food was always good. But now it is not what it used to be. The Brussel sprouts on my sister's plate and my husbands were like rocks. You could not even get a fork through them. The asparagus on my plate was also hard and I needed to use my steak knife to cut it into bite size pieces. The time before we had been there a couple months ago, the warm pear bread pudding could not be cut with a fork. It is supposed to be a soft custard like pudding. After telling the waitress about it that time, we let it go hoping it was a fluke. The temperature then and this last time was cold enough we needed a jacket while dining. I think with what has happened with the food is partly why they are not open for lunch during the week any more. People are not showing up here to eat like they used to. The wait people are doing a great job. I know it's not their fault. Sorry.
The scallops were wonderful but the seasonal veggies were not cooked throughly.
The waitress was very good, but getting our food was slow in between courses. We were there over 2 hours and couldn't eat our dessert and had to take it to go. It wasn't the waitress's fault, was slow coming out of the kitchen.
My dining experience was amazing, my server was Shawn was excellent. He was friendly, gave good suggestions and made a couple of jokes, I could tell he loved his work, his recommendation on the chocolate cake was superb. My husband throughly enjoyed his food and my mahi was cooked perfect, stop in and enjoy the lavender cosmo or blueberry cosmo.
Fine service, beautiful view, tasty food, good prices.
